You know those questions were people ask something like, if you die what statistics do you want to know? Some answers are always, how many times someone was in love with me or if I ever did anything that changed someone's life. I also want to know stuff like, how many of the abused really become abusers. I'm not disputing that it def happens, of course. I just know there is so much abuse that is not reported. If we truly knew how many were abused, I wonder what percentage would become the abuser.

A lot of people just carry on, as others have said, and use it as motivation to make their life better. I just realized this is probably OT and i'm sorry. I have just wondered about it so much since I became active on WS and i was thinking about it a lot today since DB's letter used that excuse. MOO

Absolutely, there are so many who move forward in positive ways after their abuse. I wonder what percentage become abusers themselves, so much is unreported, etc. like you said.

Last I saw, his family made a statement condemning his actions.

But they also say “he is ALLEGED to have done,” and “fate will be determined by system.” Family, of course is absolutely horrified by what happened to Cupcake, but doesn’t say they agree he’s guilty or won’t still be there for him. I can’t begin to think what PS’s finally are going thru - if they were truly blindsided by this and he fooled them all. By all accounts, he comes from a respected family with deep roots in the community. They are probably devastated. JMO

When a person makes a CrimeStoppers report, they are given a reference number. I have done a CrimeStoppers report online and the reference number is automatic. So a person can use it if they have more info or want to follow up on the report.

The video of the kids was in TBV. But my understanding is that Cupcake lived in Avondale and TBV is in the same neighborhood/considered part of the Avondale neighborhood. So it's technically her neighborhood even though she didn't live in TBV. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Child Abductors/Rapists:

- A survey of kidnapping data conducted in 2002 for the U.S. Department of Justice revealed that of the roughly 261,000 children who are abducted each year, the majority (203,900) are taken by family members – often in a custody dispute – and 90 to 115 are victims of a stranger abduction.

- The sex offender who abducts (and rapes) a child does so, unlike their Internet counterparts, because this individual does not have the social skills to entice children to engage in sexually explicit conversations etc.

- Their behavior is usually similar to that of the situational offender because they will abduct children who are victims of opportunity.

- These offenders are immature, have little formal education, work in lower-level unskilled jobs, have trouble getting or maintaining healthy sexual relationships with other adults, and have low self-confidence and low socialization skills.

- These offenders do not intend to harm the child when they plan their abductions; rather they have a fantasy that once they engage in sex with the child, the child will fall in love with them.

- The actual abduction is usually spontaneous.

- The reality of the forced rape causes the child to cry or fight back, and the offender realizes that he made a grave mistake and often only sees one recourse – to kill the child and hide the evidence.

Female Sex Offenders

- Most studies show that at least 90% of child sexual abuse is committed by men.

- Who are the 10% female sex offenders? Based on Dr. Anna C. Salter, forensic psychologist, there are 3 categories.

1. The “incest abuser” who molests her own children from a very early age, starting before the child reaches age 6 and sometimes continue until the child reaches his or her teens. These women are immature, isolated, and without adult partners, and have psychotic personality defects in which they do not view themselves as separate from their children. Salter terms this as “fusion” and is a psychological distortion in which mother cannot detach their children as separate entities after birth. Thus, the molestation is “masturbatory” rather than “molestation”, as the child is a physical extension of the mother, more like an arm or a leg, rather than a sentient and separate human being.

2. The “teacher/lover” – Female teacher targeting student.

3. The “psychologically battered” abusers are submissive and timid; they still seek dominant male partners to control every aspect of their lives. These women may be so submissive that if combined with a dominant pedophile partner, they will acquiesce to participating in or allowing the sexual abuse of their children by the male partner. The form of female sex offender may even molest her children for the pleasure and benefit of her dominant male partners, even doing so when the male partner is not physically present.

When I was looking through DB's instagram, I got the feeling that viewed her children as objects quite a bit. So many posts about how she did so much for them. She said stuff about how their "hair is always layed" (i assume that means done nicely), how much she spent on them, pictures of all the stuff she bought them. Even the pics where they were sleeping, it was like she had a nice car that she kept detailed, modded and was proud of. Not the same way you see a lot of moms brag about their kids (personality quirks, sweet acts they did, things they learned). This is all MOO of course, it was just the vibe I got from her page.

Her whole Insta was self serving, don't you notice how these mothers who brag about how great a mother they are and how well looked after their children are, are more often than not the opposite? Truly great mothers don't brag about how great they are, they don't need to. I don't want validation for being a good mother from strangers on the internet! Raising wonderful children who do their best at school and have decent morals will ultimately show my worth as a mother. My children will judge me when they grow, and I can hand on heart say I'm not perfect, nobody is, but I really do my very best and always put their welfare first.

All parents are the first line of defense to make sure their children are all taken care of, and protected.

Most likely her own children needed protection from their own mom.

Imo, they are victims too of this horrid creature. Now they will become known as the children of a kidnapper, and murderer of wee innocent Cupcake.

She doesn't deserve the title of even being called a mom. She is like so many like her, who are the worst enemies countless children will ever face.

Allegedly it was 6 or 7 individuals. PS arrest detail itemizes 7 bonds totaling $500,000 that secured his release.

This is not the first time this has been mentioned.

Imo, this is a 39 year old man here, CP charges on his phone...one can’t lead or guide someone to do this who is not already seasoned for this sort of thing, jmo. One doesn’t wake up one day and decide to abduct and kill a small child...my guess is that he’s been involved in this sort of thing for a long time, child , violence, etc., even before he met DBQJ, that the murder could have been an escalatory crime, if he hasn’t already killed someone in the past.

As for this woman, I don’t know what to say about her except she’s a monster. I don’t have enough experience with female criminals like this...maybe the same principles apply to women as they do to men, that they don’t just “wake up one day and kill a child”. We know she has a record of DV, kidnapping and abusing her kids, though we don’t know the specific type of abuse she has inflicted. Moo. I have also mentioned previously that I suspect she has been a victim of sexual abuse herself as a child.

Sometimes the "perfect (or imperfect) storm" brings together two people who become kindred spirits and not in a good way.

Karla Holmoka and Paul Bernardo - Bernardo worked his way up from escalating violent rapes to kidnapping, rape and 3 murders once he met Karla and Karla was involved in all of it. The two together took things to a whole different level. Would it have happened had the two not met? Who knows but it did.

Terri Lynn McClintic and Michael Rafferty - both losers, drug abusers and lowlifes. Rafferty had strange sexual encounters which numerous women. He was trolling the internet for information on how to rape children. Along comes Terri Lynn and the discussion turns to kidnapping a child. She helps him and in the end, little Victoria Stafford was kidnapped, raped and killed by these two. Again, it took the two of them to go the next level willingly.

I am sure there are more examples.

I get the same feeling here. Two lowlife misfits who are sexually "out there" (her for sure) that come together and the dynamic takes on a whole different life.

So I agree. They didn't just one day decide to kidnap and kill a child. I am going to guess that they had been discussing it for a while and finally one either convinced the other that it was "go time" or together, through a shared excitement, decided it was time and they made it happen. A shared fantasy perhaps that finally came to fruition.

I absolutely agree.

By all accounts they are his victims as well. I think they believed PS account that he had an alibi, and probably told them somebody else downloaded on his phone.

Why would they believe him? Probably because PS has no criminal record with the exception of MJ misdemeanor charge 15 years ago (2004)! That fact alone is baffling as I don't think this was his first offense against a minor.

Family owns a local 30 year business with stellar record. They are probably devastated.

Pretty disgusting. DB birthed her children because she had the plumbing. There's not a maternal bone in her body. She abducted and murdered another woman's baby, allegedly.
