It just occurred to me that maaaaaybe, depending on the extent of decomposition, IF she shot up heroin, a needle mark(s) may be present.

Given the length of heroin addiction (I don't remember if it's been mentioned), but an addict can act younger than their age based on years of addiction and/or damage to their brain.

Also, a person in recovery should know not to go to a bar where the chances of meeting up with someone who has drugs is a very high possibility.
To play the devils advocate, due to personal experience. Most recovering addicts have the “I’m better now/I’ve recovered/stronger than I was/I can have fun without it” thoughts working against them and if they’re not far enough in their recovery will fall right back in the hole. But in some cases they can go and have their fun without falling back into it.

Just MOO and experience-family full of addicts in recovery.
Edit to add* not saying this is what happens, just stating just because they should not doesn’t mean they don’t think they can.

I wonder if the surveillance cameras at the bar were more to watch the employees than the clientele. That could explain why police didn’t find anything helpful. Dram Shop laws (which can hold businesses responsible for selling alcohol to an intoxicated person who ends up hurting a 3rd party) might make it more advantageous to not have video footage of bar patrons.

This is the second article that states friends (plural) say she left with 2 men.

I’m taking all MSM with a grain of salt right now. They’re likely as clueless as we are, moo.

The reality sadly is that PH did not require any approval from her mother. She is 29 years old and far past the transition to adulthood.
This is true. However, if PH had areas of her life parents did not approve of, it would be understandable if she were private about all of that to maintain peace and to show respect for their feelings. Perhaps this led to the initial story of what happened the night she disappeared changing. Moo...

Wow...now we are mom shaming? Assuming we KNOW how the mom felt about PH's sexual preference? I am a Christian and I have several friends and family that are gay and I am glad most of them know how I feel about them and aren't judging me and assuming I condemn them. Not to get into any type of discussion about religion, but I am sure the mom feels horrible for what she did or did not do - because moms feel responsible for their children no matter the age. She doesn't need to read that some suspect she drove PH to lie and deceive because she was trying to be protective the best way she knew how.

This says date of death is January 3rd????
That's completely standard when someone is found dead and the date of death is unknown.

This says date of death is January 3rd????

It's pretty common with missing people that the family uses the date the remains were discovered or the date the ME pronounced the death as the obituary's date of death. It was a big issue with Libby and Abby's case in Indiana--one family used the date of disappearance and the other family used the date of discovery, and we spilled a lot of pixels trying to decide if that meant the second girl was alive for a while.

I noticed that. My guess is that this date was given because this was the day she was recovered and because they do not know what day she died. Moo...

I'm not trying to be a jerk but can you point out where it says "plural friends says she left". I'm not seeing it. However, I didn't read the heavy.com one -- not the most reliable folks around :) Thanks!

Yeah we see this sometimes, where the date recovered is used on the certificate. But iirc from Abby’s & Libby’s case and another double homicide where the victims’ death dates varied from each other, the family can also choose the official date to be the day they went missing/died OR the date they were discovered. I think this is correct, right?

Not to mention, I would imagine her daughter’s past addiction was a much greater fear than who she dated.

"Spilled a lot of pixels"... love it!! Going to steal that one! :)

Has there been any indication when/if they might release a confirmed identification?

Do you mean autopsy or medical examiner cause/manner of death? The body has already been positively identified - that's not in question. It also appears her body has already been released to Deerfoot Funeral Home.
