Alec Baldwin fired prop gun, killing 1 on movie set, Oct 2021 #4

Yes - exactly. Who hired HGR? And why? What was that discussion like?

I bet it's all preserved in AB's iCloud account.
Baldwin wasn't involved in hiring. As far as I can tell, armorer mentor knows HRG's father. HRG's father being an experienced armorer and knowing a lot people in the industry is presumably why HRG was hired.

What did she even mean by "wonky" rounds? Dummy rounds aren't supposed to be functional, how can they be wonky?
I've found HGR's terminology to be very crude for a trained professional armorer. I have a feeling she is saying that the dummy rounds sent to her contained live rounds and that's why the death and injury occurred.

In other words not her fault. I beg to differ. JMO.

From the SW affidavit:

"Affiant asked Hannah when the last time she loaded the gun was, and she advised she Loaded the gun with 5 dummy rounds before lunch. Hannah stated there was one round that wouldn't go in s0 after lunch she took the cleaner, cleaned “it” out, and put another round in, which brought the total to six rounds loaded in the weapon. Hannah described the gun to be a long barrel Colt, 45 caliber."

Well, she is supposed to inspect what she is loading into the gun. So if dummies send to her included live bullets, she certainly shouldn't be loading those into the gun.
HGR's statement to LE about "wonky" rounds does not help or absolve her in any way.

She even mentions that after the shooting she checked the rounds in the gun and said this.
Hannah said she checked all the other rounds and they all had the ringing sound when she shook them, or a hole in the side,
indicating it was a dummy round.

A live round wouldn't make a "ringing" sound or have a hole in the side. So she knows how to tell if a round is a dummy or not. Obviously she didn't check all of the rounds before she loaded them into the gun because at least one of them was a live one. JMO.

I found it interesting that she had a problem loading one chamber but not the other ones.

Does this indicate that the gun was not properly cleaned after firing blanks and that one chamber was still fouled? That could be another indication of sloppy and rushed work involving firearms on the set of "Rust." JMO.

Another indication of time pressure/corner cutting. Those weapons should have been cleaned after every firing, especially if blanks with black powder in the load (to give an authentically "smoky 1880" look when fired) were used.

Edit: Ranch beat me to it. Great minds, yada yada ... :-)

I don’t know why this isn’t brought up more:

Alec Baldwin and his Rust crew are accused of breaking at least FOUR movie industry gun safety rules before actor shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins

snipped from the article: “Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office say they believe a live round was loaded into the gun that killed Hutchins, 42, on October 21.

They are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the tragedy, amid recent claims the bullet feared to have killed Hutchins may have been deliberately loaded into the gun as an act of foul play.

Any weapons on set are also never to be used for 'horseplay', the alliance guidelines state, and must never be left attended.

But according to reports, the gun the 63-year-old actor used to accidentally kill Halyna Hutchins was used by crew members to shoot at beer cans just hours before the incident, in a game known as 'plinking.'

The weapon used in the deadly shooting is also said to have been left unattended for two hours beforehand.”

Because that seemed to be just rumours. Nobody so far has actually said they saw it.

See pg 5-6 of search warrant. Per HGR interview:

* gun wasn't loaded till a short time before lunch
* before lunch - gun was already loaded [except it wasn't fully loaded]
* before lunch - guns inside with camera crew
* before lunch - she handed gun to AB a few times
* before lunch - she loaded 5 dummy rounds - one round wouldn't go in [was this the live round?]
* after lunch - she used cleaner and loaded last round
* after lunch - she "didn't really check it too much" because guns were locked up during lunch, then put in last round
* after lunch - she handed gun to DH while he stood in for AB
* received box of dummies one week prior from Seth Kenney

We don't know the exact timing of all events leading up to the shooting (except for lunch 12:30 and the 911 call 1:48). We do know HGR stated she handed the gun to AB a couple times and also loaded the gun with 5 dummies, both before lunch.

Is it possible AB handled the gun HGR loaded with 5 dummies, pre-lunch? Absolutely. The one and only difference between pre-lunch and post-lunch rehearsals being that HGR loaded the LAST (live?) round AFTER lunch.

So, conceivably, AB makes [x] gun moves during blocking / rehearsing with the "cold" "dummied" gun without incident ... but after HGR fully loads the gun with that LAST cartridge after lunch and he makes those same exact moves - BOOM.

Further, and these points are crucial - what if DH, standing in for AB after lunch, made the SAME gun-handling moves as AB (including cocking the hammer - per script?) ... but he was lucky enough to land on a dummy cartridge(s)? Can this scenario be ruled out?

Remember, DH stated that AB did NOT have his finger on the trigger.

Honestly, HGR is looking worse and worse. JMO

I wonder if AB realizes that interview was a very bad idea yet? Almost as bad as Prince Andrew. And Jussie Smollett!

What do you think was the worst thing about him doing it?

One thing it does is it locks him into a defense he can't change. He said cocking the gun fired the gun but the FBI forensics of the gun might say that is impossible, that the trigger had to have been pulled.

Why even 🤬🤬🤬🤬 it though? He is locked into having actually cocked the gun.

A civil jury could think that it was possible that he did pull the trigger. They might not find credible the witness who says he only cocked it.

$$$$$

Anything he says now, can be evaluated for credibility. And, INMO, the fact that he is a trained ACTOR, is not in his favor. If that ever gets in front of a jury, and I was prosecuting the case, I would hammer that in, over and over.

While he was not under oath, that video is not going to go away. Can't backtrack.

Alec Baldwin Must Surrender Cell Phone for ‘Forensic Search’ in ‘Rust’ Death Probe, Judge Says

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s investigators were granted a search warrant Thursday to seize Alec Baldwin’s personal iPhone as they continue their investigation into the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, officials said. Hutchins was killed on the set of the western movie Rust two months ago.

The warrant issued by the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court gives detectives the right to perform a “forensic download” of Baldwin’s text messages, images, videos, “deleted” items and any “cloud drives” which might contain evidence related to the ill-fated production, the paperwork states.
