If I may please bump this up to see if anyone has heard about any searches goung on.

No searches that I've heard about....Desiree said in the presser that LE is working on phone records and "mechanical" stuff. I don't know what that means. She and Kaine are doing as many media interviews as possible to keep Kyron in the news....and, according to them, Terri is not helping.

Where is Kyron?

I sure wish we could hear about searches. I am so sick of all the other drama in this case.

Me too...I still don't think it would hurt to search another mile or so out from where they stopped before, near the school, and further out from around the neighborhood. Just one big weekend search. I hate that no one seems to be physically looking for him. I feel his little body is out there someplace.

I think he is out there too. Some hiker will find him, probably.

That is what I think, or someone working on their land. It is almost always a member of the public, seldom on organized searches. I can only think of one case, offhand, where a body was found by searchers, and it was the young woman in Maine, Amy ?, who was murdered by some creep she met at a bar. I can't think of her last name, but they (LE) found her on/near the creep's mother's land on the last day they felt they could search before the big snows came, by a dog hitting on a patch of turned earth.

Just checking to see if anyone knows of any person at all searching for Kyron. Baffling that no one is searching....

  • #268
Not sure whether to put this here or in the 'questions for locals' thread. Does anyone know if there have be searches on Rocky Point Rd between it's connection with NW Skyline Blvd and Hwy 30? Just a curiousity question after reading some information comparing the recent sighting vs cell phone towers....

Hi..Maybe this has been stated at the beginning..Has anyone looked on the home property..now that things have developed w TH? Or horrible to say but the landfills where the family home's trash is taken?

  • #270
The family property was searched at least once...but not sure how extensively.

Never heard anything about landfills being searched...I thought someone said they don't really have them there? Not sure what they use instead?

I just wanted to take a moment to suggest that all the people who are in favor of more searches consider getting involved with your local volunteer search and rescue organization. I'm a member of a search and rescue group where I live, and it's very rewarding. A great way to volunteer, and a great way to spend more time in the outdoors.

~snip~

More recently, people living near Skyline Elementary School said detectives have scoured previously-searched properties over the past 10 days. They said the investigators appeared to focus on people who own pickup trucks.

One man, who wished to be identified only as Roger, said investigators came to his home within the past week on a tip.

"A big SUV showed up with a couple of people in it; they wanted to know if I was this certain family," he said. "They had a tip why they wanted to talk to this family. That's all they told me."

I find this part of the interview strange:

Jung: "Has there been an effort to look at sexual predators in the area or have you called that off?"

Staton: "Helen, that's kind of a ridiculous question."

Jung: "Why is that a ridiculous question?

Staton: "I think you kind of have an answer to that already in your own mind."

Jung: "OK, well —"

Staton: "Why would any investigator not look at every aspect? When we bring in our investigators, we're bringing in investigators that are child abuse experts, they're homicide experts, they're experts in abduction — they're experts across the board. They start outlining what the plan's going to be and we're going to look here, here, here, here and here, and they gather all of the sources and information."

Jung: "And are they still doing that?"

Staton: "Obviously."

Jung: "In terms of looking at sexual predators right in the area?"

Staton: "That I can't comment on. But what I can say is when we employ investigators in this type of an investigation, not knowing and not having any direction as to what actually happened, you're bringing in experts from every category to start building the plan of what we're going to do and how we're going to do it."

Jung: "Have they interviewed sexual predators in the area?"

Staton: "I can't comment on that."

Jung: "And can you say whether they've ruled them out?"

Staton: "I can't comment on that."

Why all the no comments?

Jules, that is interesting. I wonder why the "no comment" response. Why wouldn't he just say "Yes, of course, we have looked into and are looking into that aspect." Just odd. Why does this surprise me? This whole thing is so strange. :waitasec:

Sweet lil Kyron, please come home safely.....

To me, it either says they have not looked in that direction, or they have and have something of significance. What else could it be?

Well, if they say "yes" then wouldn't that point to the possibility of it being an abduction by an SO and point away from Terri as the suspect? If they say "no" then it points away from the SO theory and may point to Terri. So I think they're just being careful about what they say so that people won't think they are either suspecting or not suspecting Terri, right?

Is SI the nearest body of water to the school, other than small ponds? I am sure this has been answered long ago, but do not know where to look.

I think LE checked out all RSO's and that is why he said it was a stupid question, they are not amateurs. They have the FBI working with them, for heaven's sake. And of course they would say "no comment" as they do about everything. And also, they would not say, yes they are all in the clear, just as they are saying that everyone is a person of interest. They have not cleared anyone so why would they clear the RSO's? They have not even cleared Kaine in public. Sorry to go off on this, wrong thread for this topic.

Here's another peculiar exchange from that Staton interview:

Jung: "And is there anything in terms of Kaine's decision to get divorced from Terri Horman — the statement that was released suggested that there was information revealed by investigators that lead to that breakup. Is there anything you can tell me about if they had met with Kaine to brief him about the investigation and is there anything that you know of that led to that?"

Staton: "That I can't comment on. I — I don't believe there's anything indication that would lead me to believe that, but I can't comment on that."

BBM.

Huh? I thought Kaine specifically wrote in the RO that LE provided him with information ("probable cause," he said)--both as to the MFH plot and Kyron's disappearance. That's clearly what Jung is referring to. I get Staton's no comments, but "I don't believe there's anything (sic) indication that would lead me to believe that" is a comment, and it seems to contradict what we read in the RO. I'm hopelessly lost now. :banghead:

JMO. BTW, this seems to be OT; I'm wondering if there is another thread that is discussing this in-depth Staton interview? If so, which? And if not, should someone start one?

I'm not sure what to define Rainbow Lake as, since it's not a lake...but I don't think it'd be a small pond either. It's near Sauvie Island and the road that borders it connects to Skyline. So I think it's actually a bit closer than Sauvie Island.
