Jacqueline Fell, the CF13 reporter has tweeted that the defense has found some volunteers that searched on their own:

http://twitter.com/jfellive

Is this some new revelation by the defense or is this just more posturing? We already know there are searchers who did searches on their own (as in NOT with TES)....

Posturing, IMO. Just interesting that they are dropping these hints to certain members of the press while conducting their review.

Thanks nums24,
I'm sure we will hear the Defense telling the media.."YES, just like we thought, we have found other searchers who searched on their own"
BUT then won't elaborate about WHERE these people searched.

Based on Casey's cellphone pings, which can be found in the DOCS, I would not be surprised to learn searchers went on their own to areas such as:
Blanchard Park
Near the Airport

Hmmm.....now wonder how this REPORTER would know this already??????

Maybe the Defense was on their way to Lunch and the reporters were outside waiting.

The fact that some TES searchers also searched on their own comes as no surprise. Nowhere does it say that these "on their own" searches occurred along Suburban Drive, nor does it say that the searchers found the area to be dry.

Just the defense leaking a tidbit to make it seem that their look-see was justified.

<yawn>

BBM
I agree.
No surprise people went out and searched on their own,
Can't wait to hear WHERE they searched? Probably areas such as Blanchard Park, around the Airport..etc...they were probably going by Casey's cellphone ping maps..

My guess is that there was no "leak" or statement at all to the press, and the press is just "filling in" the story with the OLD news that the defense PREVIOUSLY announced (months ago) that they had found volunteers who searched on their own.

WFTV Video Report - Casey's Lawyer Reviewing TES Records

http://www.wftv.com/video/25272624/index.html

:waitasec:
Are they going to be calling every searcher? If people did search on their own..then that info will not be in the TES records..and the Defense already has the documents of the 32 searchers that were assigned by TES to search that area.
BBM

C. That the Defense shall be permitted to have its representative(s) conduct a review of all searcher files. Any individuals who are contained in the various searcher files may be permitted to be telephoned but only in front of the TES representative, its counsel and the Magistrate, for the sole purpose of asking the searcher:

Joint Stipulation and Order Regarding Defense Review of TES Documents
released Sept 14, 2010

My understanding is that they will be calling ALL the searchers with that script and take it from there by requesting permission from HHJP to contact the searchers.

Casey Anthony defense search for Texas EquuSearch volunteers

http://www.cfnews13.com/article/new...efense-search-for-Texas-EquuSearch-volunteers

<Snipped>

Casey Anthony's defense attorneys say they have new witnesses who may have searched the area where Caylee's remains were eventually found. They say it could prove someone other than Casey killed Caylee.

They're sorting through thousands of pages of documents belonging to the search group Texas EquuSearch.

"In about 2.5 hours, we discovered over 50 new witnesses who all the records said had not been on Suburban Drive. [And they] have just told us over the phone that they were," said Cheney Mason, Anthony attorney.

One of those witnesses could be key to proving the defense’s theory that Caylee's body was dumped a quarter of a mile from her home after her mother was arrested -- meaning someone else killed the toddler.

They found 50? And how much in bribes were they giving out? Oh dear God, this could be a NIGHTMARE. I'm worrying already...

The defense can say what ever they like, in my eyes they have lost so much credibility that I take all they say with a grain of salt. I will wait to hear what HHJP, Tim Miller or Nejame has to say.

That's a very very VERY good point there. I will do the same to save my sanity. And also, if it's only 50 volunteers out of 4,000, that's a VERY tiny percentage that they are going to talk to. Just knowing that makes me even less worried.

What happens if they find one or two people who say they searched the area of Suburban Drive and claim there wasn't a body there? How does the word of one or two people go up against all of the other people who say they were in the area but the water was too deep to really do a thorough search beyond the tree line?

Afterall, no one was searching between June 15 and July 16 when it really would have mattered - that is, to have found the remains closer to the time of Caylee's disappearance. That's another factor that comes into play regarding the 31 days that elapsed while KC and company were 'searching on their own'. There's no way of really knowing if they were intentionally waiting for the remains to go away before reporting her missing. But then, why put Caylee's body out in the woods along with all of her personal things?
Would even the nanny be that stupid?

Also there is always the issue of the Pontiac being abandoned and found at a much later date smelling like decomp to explain away.

In 2.5 hours they searched the records and found 50 witnesses that may have been on Suburban Drive. It must have been very, very crowded down there. If everyone was on Suburban then who was searching elsewhere. How could they contact 50 people in 2.5 hours much less research those amount of files? And why would these people have remained silent all this time. It makes no sense?????? Unless this is just an excuse to get permission to call people and ask them personally. jmo

I'm not worried at all. I don't think this info is reliable. If as many people were really at Woodstock as now claim to be, the event would have taken up the entire state of TX. The defense better be careful how many people they try to throw in there, too, because I don't imagine too many people could have been in that specific area without tripping over each other.

There are several reliable witnesses, documented to be in that area, who have stated the area was underwater. There should also be piles of forensics, plant life, etc., to verify the area was underwater.

IMO, it's also going to take a lot more than a few people saying the area was dry to overcome Casey adamantly insisting Caylee was left in the care of a nanny, (nanny's sister, nieces, and mother, another child watched by nanny, that child's father, and a few friends,) all of whom NO ONE, including the defense, can even prove exist.

I personally am going to take into consideration exactly WHO is making this statement! :furious:

Is it time to bring out the copy/paste of previous statements made by Cheney Mason that were less than accurate or misleading?? :banghead:

Is this now a question of the credibility of Tim Miller and Nejame (during the period of time he was the Anthony's attorney) identifying only 32 who were on Suburban Drive against Cheney Mason's statement???

I'm surprised there was so much undergrowth and weeds left existing on that lot after all the people who were supposively traipsing through "searching"..

I don't really see the value in this for the defense actually considering the mountain of evidence FBI got from the Pontiac. Clutching at straws anyone? The more importance they place on the searchers, the more obvious their desperation is IMO.

So by noon today, FIFTY PEOPLE knowingly recall searching on Suburban Drive over two years ago, but at NO point had the fortitude to report such to LE at any time during the previous two year time frame, but instead chose to just wait until someone from the defense called them?????

And according to Mason, in 2 1/2 hours time, they reviewed 4000 TES volunteer records, made 🤬🤬🤬 phone calls, and of those 🤬🤬🤬 phone calls, FIFTY people answered "Yes, I searched on Suburban".....ALL IN 150 MINUTES????

I wonder if the defense will now have the fortitude to get their little PI to do a quick background check on anyone who claims to have searched "dry property" on Suburban and is "new key defense witness" to be sure this is yet another just wanting a little media airtime....cause if they don't.....I am sure the online community will and the defense will again look like fools.
