So they rang one person every three minutes (50 in 2.5 hours) including reading documents and identifying each person and talking with them? That timing doesn't even allow for any people they rang who said "No, I wasn't on Surburban"!

If CM is going to spin stories, at least make them believable!!

Agree. This would be impossible unless they brought an entire phone bank with them.

I am eager to hear what really went on in there from someone other than CM and JB.

. . . and I still haven't had my call. Has anyone else here who searched received one?

Great point! So what boundaries are all players under for this review? THe only "gag" I am aware of is that Team Defense cannot reveal the names publicly of those he wants to further investigate to protect THEIR identities, but other than that, what "rules" are they playing under?

Obviously, the defense feels they are free to comment to the media as they leave the courthouse each day....do the TES representative and counsel have the same courtesy?

I have all kinds of humorous shenanigans playing out in my head after finding out what really happened the last time they showed up to view records!

I have not been on here in a long time only popping in on major info days usually.

I am on here today to say that I got a friendly call from none other than the defense team for Casey. Shocked the beegeezus out of me! I had heard in the new about Nejame and the TES issue and just never thought they would really call.

I will say right now I have not read all the posts from about page 46 to here on the matter. After I post this I am going to go back and read. Just had to get this out.

It took a few seconds for my mind to comprehend who is really was. I of course heard Casey Anthony and defense team, but it took a bit to get that it was Defense not the other side. The guy asked if I searched, on what day and where. Did I do it with TES or on my own. What did I see ect. So from my answers he said he was allowed to ask me more questions. He said they might be calling back. I have no info that would help them as I did not see anyone searching that area or did I see any orange flags that someone had been there. I know the area and it is like a bowl if Tim Miller says it was full of water it was. Just so shocked that I got a call.
My brother said I should have said I am not saying anything get a court order to make me. It happened so fast, and really I would not say that I can't help thier side.

Wow, I'd get a lawyer on standby just in case they try to Kronk you. I'm serious about that. Please protect yourself from that scum!

It cracks me up that I'm reading CM's words as if he has such disdain for the people who did the original check, who must have been blithering idiots cause it only took him two and a half hours. Yeah. Two YEARS and two and half hours.

Much ado about nothing.

31 days. 31 days. 31 days.

Y'now, I just realized something important. So they do all of these motions, whine about not getting to the documents or crap like that, can't make the time to go over there and get the dang documents because they want them delivered or want to do what they want to do with no one else looking. We're talking months, no at least a YEAR or so fighting back and forth about this.

And they get it done in two and a half HOURS? They fought so hard and whined so loud over THAT? *big fat facepalm* (And how the hell do you go through paperwork on 4,000 people in two and a half hours anyway?)

My brain hurts just trying to apply logic to that. Dear God OW.

Oh, and I have a new theory on 50 number they found (must concentrate on things I can understand here...). I think they only found 14, and then added that to the 32 TES was already going to give them. So they just fibbed a little when they said they found 50. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

I didn't feel that worried this afternoon, now after reading some post from page 46 on a few on this thread I don't feel so good now. Not that I have anything that is good for them just being in this situation at all. I want justice for Caylee so what ever comes fine.

I never got any call warning me a call could come and I am certainly not in the 32 people specific to the actual burial spot. I had no idea of the scripted things and all that is involved with these calls. I would have fainted if I knew all that and then they call. I was just sure ask away.

Oh I got the call around 2pm in the afternoon and it lasted about 2-3 minutes.

fla*mom, you did the exact right thing ~ "I was just sure ask away." You told the truth. It was the perfect response! Maybe it was a good thing that you didn't know everything in this thread; sometimes it can make you worry too much. . .

Thank you for your generous heart and brave efforts in the search. :blowkiss:

The Defense must follow an agreed upon script.

Joint Stipulation and Order Regarding Defense Review of TES Documents
released Sept 14, 2010
http://www.ninthcircuit.org/news/Hi...cuments in Possession of Texas Equusearch.pdf

signed Sept 9, 2010
only signed by Mason (not Baez)

excerpts:

C. That the Defense shall be permitted to have its representative(s) conduct a review of all searcher files. Any individuals who are contained in the various searcher files may be permitted to be telephoned but only in front of the TES representative, its counsel and the Magistrate, for the sole purpose of asking the searcher:

Were you involved in any search, involving or not involving TES, in the Suburban Drive area? If the answer is in the negative, then no further questions will be asked and the call terminated. If the answer is in the positive, then the following questions will be permitted to be asked:

1. If such a search occurred, when did the search occur,
2. If such a search occurred, was it a part of TES or done independently,
3. If such a search occurred, who was involved in the search with them,
4. If such a search occurred, an inquiry would be made as to what was observed and what occurred during the search at or near the Suburban Drive area.

D. In the event after the above questions are asked, the Defense determines that further investigation or questioning is appropriate, then the search field activity form of the identified searcher shall be released to the Defense so they may conduct their further investigation as they may deem appropriate.

Yep that is how the call went down. Oh my gosh. I don't want another call.

Thanks I needed that! I was starting to doubt myself for a minute. Geez I can't imagine for some of the others the stress.

RBBM. Aedrys, I think they have all day tomorrow, too, so they probably didn't get all 4,000 of them done today. I find it hard to believe they were even able to find 50 people by noontime today no matter how many they were able to call. But I sure do like your theory on how they may have arrived at that number!

I completely agree with you, although I think more than trying to create reasonable doubt, Baez is trying to save face (especially over the TES issue..) and is posturing to appear as if he is working to defend this case....just in case any future criminals are watching.....

I will not be surprised to see his next media appearances end with....

"JoseBGood.....One Call, That's All" <insert smirk here>

Report: Casey Anthony's lawyers review Texas EquuSearch documents today – find new searchers

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...ony-texas-equusearch-20101004,0,2581070.story

Casey Anthony's lawyers reviewed thousands of Texas EquuSearch records at the Orange County courthouse today and said they found 100 names of people who searched in and around Suburban Drive soon after Caylee Marie Anthony went missing in mid-2008.

These are names, they say, that were not previously provided to the defense.

That's the article I was referring to....thanks!!!!!

On the flipside, it would be illogical to imagine that the defense would tell the media on FRIDAY that they hoped to find a new witness on Monday...

Only to step out at the beginning of a lunch break and announce, "Nope....haven't found a new witness yet!" :woohoo:

What is interesting is that he just dropped this little hint, but did not elaborate on whether any of these "lone searchers" then responded as to whether or not the area was wet.....or WHEN they searched on their own.

Gonna be big media hoopla over this for the next couple of days by the defense....and then we will hear nothing else about these witnesses come trial time.....imho

Baez is postering.....again, imo
Indeed!!

Just because folks searched here and didn't find her means nothing, they are not Navy Seals, they are your average folks just trying to look. Mark says seasoned LE officers could easily miss something in this dense , dense area. It happens all the time. It doesn't matter how many people came there.

Check it out. One cannot get past the information Mark points out that where the car was at Amscot was surrounded by gas stations. She abandoned that car for a reason, and it wasn't due to not finding a local gas station. "There was a distinct odor in that car, I believe something was placed in the back of that car. I am hoping it is not, but then again, once you smell that smell, and you guys know this, you NEVER forget that smell"! George Anthony told the federal agents.

God bless all of you who searched!!

The jury wont have fallen off the turnip truck on their way in to the courthouse.

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said it's a waste of time.

“We've got some other missing person cases I need to be on," Miller said. "Of course, this is expensive again and I feel as though this is all in vain if you want to know the truth. I don't believe anything positive's going to come out of it for the defense at all.”

I'm not worried at all. I don't think this info is reliable. If as many people were really at Woodstock as now claim to be, the event would have taken up the entire state of TX. The defense better be careful how many people they try to throw in there, too, because I don't imagine too many people could have been in that specific area without tripping over each other.

There are several reliable witnesses, documented to be in that area, who have stated the area was underwater. There should also be piles of forensics, plant life, etc., to verify the area was underwater.

IMO, it's also going to take a lot more than a few people saying the area was dry to overcome Casey adamantly insisting Caylee was left in the care of a nanny, (nanny's sister, nieces, and mother, another child watched by nanny, that child's father, and a few friends,) all of whom NO ONE, including the defense, can even prove exist.
it is my understanding that the search groups were small, probably on average no more than 10-15 people, and of course were spread out to cover a large area. No way were there 50 people on suburban. Could they have found 50 kooky people to say they were? Probably. Could they be lying to the media? My guess is most likely. After all, they aren't obligated to tell the media the truth about anything - and if it taints the potential jury pool at the same time - why not lie? And ITA with whoever made the "woodstock" comparison - right on point. MOO.

I don't really see the value in this for the defense actually considering the mountain of evidence FBI got from the Pontiac. Clutching at straws anyone? The more importance they place on the searchers, the more obvious their desperation is IMO.

I couldn't agree more. Your statement is the "absolute" bottom line. This isn't "breaking news" or any "shocking revelation" - it's a VERY sad attempt to grasp at the weakest straw left. MOO

So by noon today, FIFTY PEOPLE knowingly recall searching on Suburban Drive over two years ago, but at NO point had the fortitude to report such to LE at any time during the previous two year time frame, but instead chose to just wait until someone from the defense called them?????

And according to Mason, in 2 1/2 hours time, they reviewed 4000 TES volunteer records, made 🤬🤬🤬 phone calls, and of those 🤬🤬🤬 phone calls, FIFTY people answered "Yes, I searched on Suburban".....ALL IN 150 MINUTES????

I wonder if the defense will now have the fortitude to get their little PI to do a quick background check on anyone who claims to have searched "dry property" on Suburban and is "new key defense witness" to be sure this is yet another just wanting a little media airtime....cause if they don't.....I am sure the online community will and the defense will again look like fools.

Is it really feasible to say that by noon on a Monday, two years after the fact, the defense was able to even get 50 people to answer the phone..? What with numbers changing, people moving, people dying, people working, et cetera, the defense was somehow able to get that many people? And why a nice round number like 50? The defense can't even lie right. MOO.

So did Baez forget to mention to Cheney Mason that Todd Macaluso already tried this approach and failed?

He too, claimed (and in open court!) that the defense had a new witness they could provide that would PROVE that Caylee's body was not placed until after October....

And couldn't produce!

Mason needs to go back to the case file and refamiliarize himself with the Tried But Failed Defense Strategy color chart....

what I'd like to know is how in trial do they plan on arguing the root growth, the skeletonization, and pretty much every thing else that DOES prove she was there - not some whackadoo's word saying the body wasn't there. I believe science over a whackadoo any day.

OT but I'm tired of hearing the words "junk science". I bet one time DNA was considered "junk science". Science has a method of being able to prove or disprove itself. Just because something is new doesn't necessarily mean it is junk.

Casey Anthony's defense attorneys say they have new witnesses who may have searched the area where Caylee's remains were eventually found. They say it could prove someone other than Casey killed Caylee.

They're sorting through thousands of pages of documents belonging to the search group Texas EquuSearch.

"In about 2.5 hours, we discovered over 50 new witnesses who all the records said had not been on Suburban Drive. [And they] have just told us over the phone that they were," said Cheney Mason, Anthony attorney.

One of those witnesses could be key to proving the defense’s theory that Caylee's body was dumped a quarter of a mile from her home after her mother was arrested -- meaning someone else killed the toddler.

I wanted to bump up this post because I can really sense the worry in FlaMom's voice. As somebody else said above, you told the TRUTH so I wouldn't say there is anything for you to worry about, I think even if Defense did press this, it would fall flat anyway, but I wanted to bump this in case somebody more knowledgeable missed it, and whether there is true cause for FlaMom's concern, or if somebody could help put her mind at ease. From me personally, FlaMom, you stand up straight my darling, chin up, head high, because you have done something to be proud of :applause:, not something that you need to be afraid of. Don't waiver in your courage, you have done nothing wrong.
