Drain it TO WHERE? The ground was saturated (key word)...where was the water supposed to go when that area was the bottom of the bowl? That area IS the drainage area from my understanding. Wouldn't any water drained just flow downhill?

A sponge only absorbs so much water...

Fire trucks to sump pump & haul it off maybe???

Pfft!

Do only Floridians understand this? (No offense)

My opinion only, of course.

Oh, and welcome guests! Grab a nic and come on in, the water is fine!

I don't think it's possible to drain a swamp. The pumps would get clogged immediately with debris.

Casey had 31 days, 31 days to hide Caylee's body. They looked in ponds, woods, rivers, all over the place because Casey had a 31 day head start. Caylee could have been anywhere. Besides that, Caylee's body was reduced to bones by 2-3 weeks so she was completely skeletonized before anyone looked for her. Even if they had tried to drain the swamp (which is laughable) Caylee's tiny bones would have been sucked up in the pump and thrown all over the place, losing any evidence.

I really wish JVM would get a clue. Just because she yells something doesn't make it possible. There is no comparison to Natalee's case. They drained a pond, not a swamp.

I believe Kronk saw Caylee's body and the officer simply failed to do his job. No need to drain anything, simply send someone from LE who would thoroughly check out a tip.

LE had many tips, Kronk's was just one. Were they supposed to drain every pond, lake, swamp in Florida where someone may have seen something?

Kronk's tip was very specific, if only LE had followed through.

IMO

Plus the pond that was drained in Aruba was literally 1000 foot from the ocean. Getting rid of the pond water was the easy part.

:twocents:My dear brother and sister posters:twocents:: I have just about HAD IT  up to my proverbial eyeballs with the "nextday quaterbacks" :truce:(HA! remember when we could say Monday quaterbacks 'cause they ONLY played on WEEKEDNDS!):truce: who have just the PERFECT answer for everybody else's job within the UNIVERSE except of course their own:waitasec:!

Points so well taken as mentioned by our previous posters: the muck, the mire, lost evidence, WHICH site to be drained and put the H2O where?, are EXACTLY the reasons why LE didn't run off on the wild goose chase! :furious: Let us all remember that the core:sick: of the case was sitting comfortably in the AC, getting 3 squares and a bed, plenty of publicity and attention and had a cemented mouth at least regarding her daughter's disposition! :furious: AND NOW $$$$$$ are an issue? Good heavens to betsy, that:loser: ova incubator :loser:is the ONLY reason why a single cent is being spent.

JVM and her "type" may have covered these stories but they move on, others who participate in search and rescue and the last step, recovery live thru EACH and EVERY horrific experience BUT LEARN and improve protocols:banghead: and guess what, without the assistance of the :snooty:"TV talking heads".:snooty:

Good post, Joypath and I remember when everyone was looking for Caylee thinking to myself there is so much water in Florida they may never find her. There were also many, many clues that some of the WSer's here that live locally were trying to follow. It's amazing she was found at all. jmo

Oldie, but goodie! This hearing is one of the many times in this case that the defense has had the audacity to claim to the court that Mark has a conflict of interest if not ethical failing, all the while Mark had a signed waiver in his desk drawer from mom and pop. You just can't make this stuff up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz5N9rNJPiw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMDGghOlAmI
I had almost forgotten, not only did the defense ask for Judge Strickland to step aside, they asked in this hearing for all three prosecutors to step aside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUYPwHb7Hw4
Brad, to his credit, let the judge know it is NOT true, the Anthonys positively are claiming no such thing that Baez alleged!!! Later, of course we learn that they changed their tune and do assert that, at which time Brad, again to his credit.... Brad bailed!!! ( four minute mark)

If anyone writes a book about this case or makes any media deal, whatsoever, I hope it is Mr. Miller. to help fund his future searches. Unfortunately, in the two years since Caylee died TES has been hired many, many, many a time to look for others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnSpxCm08mA

I'm pulling this one out of your brilliant collection of videos, there, TWA. I have never seen it before, but good GOLLY does it make soooo much sense. If somebody is coming into the case just fresh, now, they should see this one, if nothing else. I'm just totally fascinated by Cindy.

Completely agree. This is going off topic I realize, but I really feel this is the point I have to say something (not that anyone cares what I have to say, but I need to clear out my own head on this ISSUE... If you won't take Jane off the air, at least do the public a favor and change her listing from news to fantasy TV. Please. I beg of you, whatever proverbial you might be in charge. I don't ask this because I disagree with her viewpoints, her inane insistence that everybody on the planet suffers from some kind of an addiction, her yelling, her gavels or her choice of panelists to whom she is kind. It is because she is factually incorrect, not to mention she has the social skills of a crouton. The way she hollered at the poor nephew of the psychic who was killed by her husband (allegedly) the other night, he clearly couldn't hear her well over the phone and she kept yelling at him 'YOUR REACTION! WHAT IS YOUR REACTION?" as if he were a two year old not paying attention. I just find her completely unwatchable anymore, and I'm sorry to say that because for the first year of this case before I found Websleuths, I depended on her show to bring me the news. Silly me. I don't watch her show anymore unless I find out from WS that this case will be covered, and I don't care if she stays on the air, but whoever is in charge might want to find somebody who can actually interview people and report things properly. Whatever, rant over. Back to my doritos.

Do we know if it has been scheduled for the remaining TES phone calls to be made by the defense? I wondered why in the world the defense didn't bring ten to twenty interns/students to help make the calls the first time, rather than only four people to call four thousand? Poor Tim had to sit in there with them for two long days, now he has got to come back and do it again. The funny thing is for as much as the defense wants to hang their hat on the idea that they can find searchers to say what they want to hear, they sure are back burnering the remaining sixty percent of the initial calls they have to make. People tell on themselves.

Does anyone else think that after the thrashing HHJP gave them concerning fishing expeditions that they might simply be backing away from the whole TES thing. Especially since it is quite apparent that the State will specifically NOT be paying for any such fishing expedition.

And don't forget young Mr. Sparks. (Question: B. Sparks is RK's son but has the last name of Sparks, same as his mother. Why is he not a Kronk? )

After reading the emails in this doc dump I don't think B. Sparks will want to give JB anything useful. And if he was pressured to give a statement let's hope he says so. jmo

I certainly can't see why he would help them now! He allowed them to video tape himself making accusatory and negative remarks about his father, and yet they were also ready to make him a SODDI so easily! I hope someone has pointed this out to him and his mother. That bus knows no bounds once its wheels start turning. JMO.

I believe he has an attorney. Hope his attorney does not let this slide. Those emails are really damning for defense. Shows they know no limits. jmo

They seem to have an innate ability to turn friends into enemies, overnight.
Can you imagine, Baez sicking George on TES? You are right, they have no threshold, no limits, the jury, imo is going to hate these folks.

I think the fact that they are keeping quiet now is a good thing. At some point it will hit them like a fully loaded truck, if it hasn't already. jmo

Don't think this was put up by the media, was filed with the Clerk's office 2/26 by Nejame's office.

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/27552747/TES-Additional-Docs-Notice

According to this notice, Baez scheduled a meeting 6 months ago to look at all the docs, canceled the meeting and has never rescheduled.....yet Baez continued to file frivolous motions to get the docs, even though he had access to them.

Thanks Muzikman for finding this for us!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!

The above was from March, 2010, and at that time the documents had sat in Mark's office, available for the defense to look at it for six months already, so basically a year that the defense delayed on this.
Now the judge allowed them to call to see if anyone was on Suburban, and they only brought four people to place those would be four thousand phone calls. Obviously, they could not complete that in two days, so they had to reschedule time to complete those initial calls.

When Mason thought he had some fresh hot off the press information in the last hearing, he told the judge that effectively some TES docs that should have been handed over in discovery were not. That was the spot that Mrs. Drane-Burdick took him to school, that is not true she told the judge. She explained the docs were indeed in evidence available to them when they came with all of the experts this summer, and indeed they remain available, the defense is welcome to come to look at them the following Monday. Assuming Cheney kept his word (he said he will take her up on her offer and go take a look at them), once he realizes the document that Laura Buchanan filled out that TES had, is indeed different than the document Laura Buchanan provided Mort, do we think he will take back any of his allegations of wrongdoing by TES? Of course not.
What I am wondering about is the Bad Faith motion and request for sanctions and attorney fees Mark wanted a hearing on, is that scheduled? Did that get handled in chambers?
Have we learned anything more about the investigation into Laura Buchanan and the investigation into Jeremy Lyons? I still want a front facing photo of him whoever can help me with that. Since the defense told the judge they still have 60% of the four thousand searchers to call, that is a lot of folks who he could potentially bother as some of our members have been candid enough to detail here for us. I want his picture to be as public as possible. Have thee media outlets followed up with the Sheriff's department about his alleged tampering with witnesses? You know...now that I think of it...Kathi Belich, Superwoman, will likely be all over the defense with these questions. She has been demanding the truth.Since jump!

I am betting the bad faith and attorneys fee's motion was handled in the judges chambers. It probably came down to this. HHJP suggested that if MN had an issue about JB or the defenses ethics, he could file a formal complaint with the bar. As far as attorneys fee's? The client is indigent. The state is not going to pay any penalty fees for the defense attorneys, and there is quite literally no pot from which to pull any such fees or fines from. So it would be a matter of ego. Even if the court awarded fees noone would pay it.

It was going to be that her lawyers, not her would be fined and sanctioned, right? It was they that he was accusing of the bad faith. I assume that Mark did file a bar complaint, some time ago. That is just my guess.

Yes, that is indeed what he was doing, filing against the lawyers. It is the lawyers that are on their honor to act in good faith as members of the bar. I'm not a lawyer, but that is my understanding.
snipped from the OS
"Attorney Mark NeJame, the Anthonys' former lawyer, accuses Casey Anthony's defense team of acting in bad faith and requests a special hearing to debate their conduct."

Good point! We know Finnell has no respect for the wishes of people who don't want to help the defense spin their lies...Lyons seems no different.
