I think it's high time I revisited this case  - after all it is all you kind people here on Allison's thread whom inspired me to go the extra mile.

Court's in session at 10am on June 10th. Let's trust it's a ten on the Richter scale. Will be if our lot has anything to do with it...

BBM This was a silly and arrogant tactic that failed miserably in my opinion. GBC was obviously going to be committed for trial by the magistrate but he thought he would get in first and avoid the magistrate considering the evidence and coming to a formal decision then saying the words "I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to commit GBC for trial". It didn't work, the magistrate was not going to let GBC interfere with his decision and said those words anyway. If GBC consented to be tried he could have done that before the committal and avoided the testing of the States evidence against him. He did not. So his consent to be tried was legally meaningless.

Thank you for this post Alioop. It is a timely reminder of GBC's tactics. It's reassuring that the Law stood firmly in place and held GBC to account on that one.

This is all fairly standard in murder trials. Or was when I was a juror on a murder trial. Being taken to the scene is mind-altering, to say the least.

Yes it sure is standard BreakingNews. I think it was just journos being..well..journos. Having said that....some folks can't handle the graphic content although majority get through it.

No murder trial is ever butterflies & rainbows.

I suspect a certain boy-scout rellie whom was o/seas at the time of the crime might put in an appearance - just a suggestion, mind... Be sure to polish up on all those happy snaps so we can spot them as they in and out the forecourt.
TM will likely be staying with mum IMO, though doubt we'll see her outside the four walls of the court. What odd's she'll be a blonde?

It seems a bit odd that Kenmore (or Kenmore Hills) weren't mentioned in the list of suburbs which would exclude jurors, unless this was missed by the journos. Kenmore is where Nigelaine live, where GBC's former office is, is literally just up the road from the former GBC residence, where GBC was regularly seen shopping before the arrest, is where searches took place also and of course is where the infamous roundabout sits....?

I would be very surprised if the rellie is in court to support GBC. He has not shown up previously. He hightailed it back overseas as soon as he could after Allison's funeral in my opinion.

We have all waited a long time to see justice for Allison. I determined at the very beginning that I would be there to see her murderer brought to justice. I will be attending court for the third week of the trial. I will take as many notes as my poor brain can take in and keep the WS family up to date as I see and hear it.

You are correct - journos just whetting our appetites. Only a juror knows what goes on behind closed doors. It is an emotional roller coaster. When empanelled the person sitting beside me was shaking so much I held her hand. Together we laughed, we cried, we vomited, we argued, we hugged, we shared our inner feeling. Not many normal people can handle the graphics. Some things stay in your mind forever. I don't envy GBC's jury in the task ahead.

Thank you. This is very much appreciated by those of us who cannot attend the trial but we'll be there in spirit.

Yesterday I craved to be a juror until I read what they might have to view.

Justice coming soon for you Allison.
Then you can rest in peace sweet girl.

I am back to reading old threads. It is sad how news links are broken, but more often than not the few lines quoted give the gist of things. I came across one news item that supposedly confirmed that the girls were home, but when I went to the link the news story has completely disappeared. I am guessing that we will know the answer to that soon.
I am mindful not to demonise GBC or to sanctify ABC.
I have also been going over statements. What stuck out in TM's four statements is how she wouldn't let go - when they broke up she continued to text even when they were ignored. I also noted that G had been using the Bruce Overland email for a few years before he gave that addy to TM. Apparently.

There's something that has never made sense to me.

Bruce (not Overland) Flegg lives about 1 Klm away as the crow flys (overland)

If Flegg heard screams inside his house loud enough to get him up to look and be alarmed, then heard other screams, then why didn't the closer neighbours hear the screams. Yes dogs barked and car tyres screeched but surely someone was watching & listening from their homes. Did the Baden-Clays have regular fights so they chose not to act.
We'll soon see.

Example, tonight I heard a siren which sounded fairly close by. I opened the door to listen where it was coming from until I realised it was in the distance. If it was a scream I heard, I'd listen, evaluate, then act.
Ah well as OW said.....we need the truth, the truth!

GBC's trial will not be the first time that Todd Fuller QC and Michael Byrne QC (for the defence) have come up against each other in a court of law.

I was wondering about this also? And why did they name Chapel Hill? The police searched Bielby Rd but I'm still waiting to find out why?

Wow, Sue and Bruce are some characters hey? Forgive me as I catch up on this aspect of this terrible crime. I really feel for Allison, I bet dollars to donuts her murder will be made into a movie because it is stranger than fiction.

The person her accused hubby asks to borrow a massive sum of money from, a sum of money required that could very well be the motivation for her murder, hears screams the night she goes missing. But doesn't report them to well after other reports have hit the news and things start looking grim for GBC if I have my timeline right.

In addition, his lover loans the soon to be accused an iphone which is later recovered in an investigation into political corruption. Whilst lending this phone, she is photographed with Elaine Baden-Clay at the mailbox, in apparent support, despite the fact she has never met her before. The only public non-family support we see for the Baden-Clay's is a business acquaintance of her son. Either the nature of the relationship was underplayed or Sue and Bruce are quite keen to involve themselves in drama. I think there is evidence it might be the latter as Sue and Bruce seem quite happy to dig for gossip about his marriage and a woman's mental health they've never met. Regardless, they seem to operate in a similarly sloppy manner as the Baden Clays, birds of a feather and all that. I mean, how many legal battles does the average Joe Blow get himself tangled up in? Those must have been some cracker Commerce meetings.

I don't believe that Toni was involved in Allison's murder except as a contributing catalyst, but my guess is that there are financial dealings that could land her in very hot water and this is all the leverage required, along with her hurt feelings.

As for other accomplices, looking at my map, google says you'd travel through the roundabout to get between the brookfield rd home and the durness st home. Is there a reason you'd not go via the rafting ground rd? I mean seriously, going to a lit busy spot to get picked up to assist in a crime seems very ill advised. Not that anything done seems well advised.
