She could have very well known her mother died. It has not been reported otherwise. Also it has been twitted that she did watch TV.

Per an interview on Fox 8 (last night) her cousin said (and I think maybe the reporter reiterated) that she was just informed that her mother had passed on. They said something to the effect of, "And as happy as this news is...Amanda has just been told that her mother died."

I'm not sure if I can find a link of the actual interview, but I'll try.

Is this the mother that abandoned the brother in a dumpster and left the family?

Yes, same woman She lives in FL now and it was said in an article I linked to earlier today that she was on her way to Cleveland to reunite with her daughter even though LE has STILL not contacted her to even let her know her daughter is alive. Makes me wonder if Michelle asked them not to contact her mother...

Yes, she also knew her abductor's EXACT age when asked, 52.

My guess is he was and egotistical person who made a big to do for his birthday and probably celebrated with his captives.

they are discussing the lack of empathy of the dispatcher on the phone call on live feed now-the man will get "retraining" or something "a little sterner"

While she might have been told that, it doesn't mean she didn't know that already.

Since dispatcher is a woman, why would a man get retraining?

Didn't catch the man's name or exact title, but in an interview on wkyc just now someone in charge of the 911 operator said the call was inappropriately handled and that some form of action would be taken with the 'young man' (now we know) who took the call, possibly re-training.

That may well be the reason her photo has not been shown. Hoping she has a victim's advocate to help her.

They were saying he is in fact a man, I thought it was a woman too.

I'm late to the party but only because it's taken all day to get caught up with the posts. I don't really have anything to add except THANK YOU GOD that these girls are now safe. It is truly a miracle!!!!

True. May I ask what you are basing your belief that she "did" know on? Was there an interview, or something said? FWIW, I'm basing my statement on the interview I heard last night.

I am still looking for that interview. But after such an influx of info the past 24 hours, it is not easy.

That did not sound like a man on the phone with Amanda. Now, the one with Charles Ramsey was a man.

There were two 911 calls. One with Charles Ramsey was a man.
So who are they talking about?

This case is chilling and very ominous to me, despite the joy of three missing people found.

I cannot help but think of the Fred West case in England, where police had found his daughter's body and others in the garden and a profiler told them they should start looking in the basement of the house. When they asked why, the profiler said, 'He's buried them here because he has run out of room in the house.'
This proved to be true. He and his wife liked to keep their victims close in death, as well as life.

Reports say there is disturbance in the suspect's garden, but chains and a RIP sign in the basement. LE are going to have to tear that house apart, they really are. I'm sure there are more to be brought home.

Thank heavens for Amanda's minutes of death-defying bravery, that probably saved four lives. Thank heavens for the neighbours who rushed to help. It may be a bad area, but it sure has some good people.

I hope LE can talk to the mentally disturbed daughter who is in jail too; about her 'paranoia' that family were trying to kill her too. You only have to look at Mom's list of injuries at the hands of her husband to realise that daughter may have some information that is worth listening to, after all.

I really hope everyone - except the person/people who inflicted this horror - around this case can be shown the utmost compassion. Especially Michelle. As the longest-term prisoner, she may have shown the newcomers what to do and how to behave, and helped save their lives. If it's true she suffered an abusive childhood, it may have stood her in good stead for surviving what came next.

I wish and hope with all my heart there are some kind, gentle, loving hands to support her now.

They were talking about the dispatcher who took the call with Amanda, the one where you hear her voice.

According to the person they interviewed, who was the operator's supervisor in some position, it was a young man who took Amanda's call. I couldn't tell either way.

We know from reports that the women watched the news coverage last year of the search for Amanda's remains. We also know that whenever Amanda's story is told they always talk about her mother dying of a broken heart. Logic just points to Amanda hearing that.
