Back to work ... will catch up later. Thanks for all the updates and especially the info about Knox finally admitting her pranking history. That, to me, is a huge development.
It really would seem so..... Looking forward to seeing your posts in the days to come. :loveyou:

Myvice, it answers A LOT of questions.

All I can say is that I hope they get what they deserve, which is life behind bars. JMO and all that.

And that goes for Rudy, too. Hopefully he will do another petty burglary when he gets out (no one harmed of course), and then can throw him back in jail. Keeping throwing him back in, throwing him back in.

All 3 deserve to be behind bars for the rest of their lives. JMO.

But Rudy could very well harm someone else as soon as he gets out. Too much emphasis placed on fantasizing about the other two the "encouraging" him to rape and murder IMO, and not enough looking at the actual evidence of what he did.

I'm not an expert. This is what the experts said in that case:
"Investigators spray the caustic, luminescent chemical on surfaces. If there
are latent traces of blood, the chemical glows in the dark as it reacts to
heme -- the substance that helps give blood its red color. Luminol can
detect blood dilutions as minute as 1 part in 5 million.

``I have run bloody clothing through the washing machine, and Luminol has
detected it,'' said Benny DelRe, director for the Santa Clara District
Attorney's Crime Laboratory, the lab that is doing the Fitzhugh tests. ``It
tells stories.''

The chemical can also react to such things as rust, vegetables, ink or even
some types of concrete. Investigators usually rule out other possibilities
using more precise chemical testing."

I see. I notice it says "blood dilution." Meaning I guess, even if the blood tried to be cleaned up with a wet rag, or something like that. And the blood cells got diluted, but not all were picked up by the rag, some diluted blood cells were left.

But in my way, swipe right to left, one swipe, throw away. Swipe again, same direction, throw away. If any blood was left, it would only be at the end, where you picked up the paper towel, or whatever was used. Then you could just use a fresh paper towel going up to down one swipe at the end, and it would take care of that. Kind of like window washing, except you are doing it with fresh wiper and water each time.

I don't know. Just a theory, of course.

But the sentence he got is out of our hands. It's already done. We can't do anything to change it, I wish we could. I know what you mean about harming someone else. That is what I'm hoping he avoids, because I don't want him to be behind bars for the rest of his life by hurting someone else. Hopefully he will get arrested on something where no one got hurt, and they can put him back in for a few years, then when he gets out, he does something else without anyone getting hurt, they throw him back in.

That is the only option I see at this point.

I am not absolving him of anything. I said all 3. If all 3 participated, then all 3 need to serve their time.

The forensic team cleaned up RGs shoeprints in the hall. Did they show up with luminol? I guess I need to go back and watch the crime scene video from that day.

ProcessoMeredith, Bongiorno (Sollecito's defense): "The absence of traces of mud on the wall is because in those days it was not raining"
https://twitter.com/qn_lanazione

the defense has always said there was no rain that evng (see dempsey's blog linked below). that the prosecution used curatolo to put AK and RS in the square as a witness to them being out and about that night doesn't make sense if there was rain. why would he or the pair be hanging out in the square in the rain?

We are both saying that Amanda took the rent money as a "staged prank" , and perhaps almost a pathetic way to get Meredith's love and attention, as she did with her Dad. And then Meredith blows up, and now the humiliation is beyond bearing.

i HIGHLY doubt she would sneak into MK's room and take the money as a prank... pulling a prank like this on your close friends and fam is one thing, but people you've known for mere weeks? ... uh, no.

As I mentioned, I read it somewhere but stated clearly that I could not remember where. So take it or leave it.

there is nothing like that in FR's tsetimony. IIRC, she said she wanted her b/f to make sure amanda was okay...

"please go home, go to see what happened... However there is Amanda and help her

Speaking about cameras. I would assume the first thing a modern police force does when a murder happens is sequestering each end every municipal and private cctv recordings from the general area.

There were quite a few on the street where Raffaele lived and on the way to via della Pergola 7. It's very baffling that the police didn't have the material to immediately contradict Amanda's and Raffaele's story. I don't recall now if they said they forgot to secure the recordings or was there some other explanation. Odd and suspicious, anyway.

dempsey's blog mentions the cams... she said that there ARE cams b/w the two homes and the prosecution REFUSED to allow the families to view the footage... nor did they ever release the footage... hmmm, wonder why?? !!

Hey Redhead! Hope you and your family are doing ok.

I think it's entirely possible that she wanted to play a prank on Meredith. After all, she has referred to her constantly as her "good friend," that they were "good friends," in virtually every interview and on her website and in her book.

It is the innocent side who constantly said before this, but why? They were good friends!

And besides that, I don't think Amanda has a normal sense of realizing when to do something and when not to. Maybe quirky, maybe a bit socially-awkward, whatever the term is, I don't know exactly. But I think you know what I mean.

In fact, the innocent side has continuously given this "quirkiness" as a reason to excuse abnormal behavior such as cartwheels, etc.. That she sometimes just doesn't realize how to behave appropriately.

This is all wrapped up in one big package and tied up with a bow in this - the prank. Socially awkward, not doing things at apppropriate times, quirky, spontaneous, fun, "life of the party," free-spirit, creative - all the things that were previously used to describe her by the innocent side as a way to provide answers for the way she acted, and now, suddenly, they want to separate her from this behavior.

Can you please link to that picture? Thanks.

I believe you're referring to the photo after it was treated with a different chemical (not luminal) that turns pink on first exposure to blood, but soon after turns pink everywhere it's been applied.

The prosecution maintains that it rained on the night of the murder. Dempsey was in Seattle at the time of the murder, and the prosecutor was in Italy, so he's most likely correct.

Looking at the bathroom photos I don't see any place to hang towels.

And honestly either way it was said that the ground was wet and the ground seemed undisturbed. So it had rained recently enough that the ground was still wet.

I'm not sure if this will bring up just that pic or the whole page but I'll give it a shot.

Yes, that's the photo I was talking about too. Luminol fluoresces blue under a black light, so this is not luminol. "phenolphthalein" is one of the chemicals discussed re: this photo.

Very technical, but what I took away was that this was not an indication of blood, or an image of diluted blood, and that the photo was not introduced as evidence in the trial.

What do you guys think of this:

-turn their cell phones off at 8:42 b/c they are at the cottage waiting for Meredith to come home so they can "surprise" spook her....turn the phones off so that they don't ring while Meredith is close to and coming into the house...that would ruin the "surprise"......

-they were all waiting for her, all 3

-Meredith comes home

I don't know how this fits it with the time frame of the murder....what are some thoughts on this?

  • #859
I do believe that is the reason for the cell phones turning off at 8:42...that would make sense for a prank. Also vibrate does not work b/c you can still hear the vibration.

Thoughts?

"All that we know is that around 8:40 pm Amanda Knox was still at Raffaele's apartment. Jovana Popovic, a Polish student who knew Raffaele, came by his apartment to inform him that she no longer required him to give her a drive to the bus station. Jovana did not see Raffaele, and she was told he was in the bathroom by Amanda.[3] Sollecito received a phone call at 8:42 pm that was handled by the cell tower covering his apartment so he was likely at the apartment until at least 8:42 pm.[4]"
