And the person I believe to be solely responsible for the murder of Meredith, career criminal Rudy Guede, will be eligible for parole this year after only serving 8 years. How is this justice for Meredith? I'm sure RG is dancing a jig in his cell after hearing this verdict. MOO.

BBM: Besides the murder charge for Meredith's murder, what other criminal charges were there against Rudy Guede ?

Do you have a link ? If so, I would like to see what he was charged with and when.

Was Rudy "shady" -- Yes -- But I do not recall reading anything that detailed his "official criminal background" PRIOR TO Meredith's murder.

Thanks !

Nobody put it there, they failed to collect it the first time and it just sat in the room until they did finally collect it for evidence.

REally? It sat out for 6 weeks? No one found it? Great crime scene collectors

This is simply not true, don't know where this is coming from but it's misinformation.

It is true. It is absolutely true. Sorry.

Why should Rafaelle Sollecito or Amanda Knox give into the injustice served by the Italian court?! This is wrong! There was no physical evidence (that can be claimed free of CONTAMINATION) to link either of them to the crime! How can [one] take joy in knowing that innocent people are being condemned? I can't fathom how afraid they must feel.

i know, eh?

i expected the verdict; it was no surprise. i didn't expect such gloating...

one thing to remember: the verdict was wrong for casey anthony. and there was not one accusation of official misconduct, evidence tampering, witness tampering, etc. from police, prosecution, forensic investigators, or any court involved... unlike in this case.

(for those who don't remember: the supreme court dictated in it's finding that more people than guede were involved -- so much for neutrality!)

:sigh:

If America doesn't hand over someone convicted of murder I cant see Italy being happy about it and its going to lead to other countries saying if America don't extradite people then why should we honor there requests?

When you travel to other countries you follow their laws. No American Exceptionalism.

The point is more that the clasp was not found for 6 weeks. And not by police by someone that notified police. No one knows who put it there. or who touched it.

IT is bad evidence.

This is the information about the bra clasp. In a quick overview, the clasp was dirty when found the second time six weeks later and a few feet away from the original location. If you have a chance view the video of collection. After it was retrieved and tested, the tech placed it in some solution at the lab and the hooks rusted deeming it unusable for additional testing. It also had the dna of four male contributors on it.

Page 200

The little piece of fabric with the clasp had been found at night, around 2 AM on November 3, according to what emerged from the video of that inspection. The clasp was immediately brought to her attention and photographed. It wasn’t however, catalogued during the course of that first search, because, although important, being a missing piece of the bra, there was the fact that ‚however we had taken the entire bra‛ (page 121); furthermore, just like the small piece [of bra], other objects like the handbag and the sweatshirt were left behind and which, catalogued during the second inspection on December 18, yielded results. The small piece of bra in question was repositioned where it had been found and in other words, on the floor, on top of which the pillow was found, on which the lifeless body of Meredith had been placed.
During the second search, the December 18, 2007 one, this small piece of bra with hooks was found in another area of the room, near the desk, under a little rug, and around one metre or one and a half meters from where it had been seen during the first search. She wasn’t able to tell the reason or the manner in which it had been moved.

:twocents:

What is scary is what Meredith Kercher went through the night she was brutally murdered ...

It was so brutal, when the demonstration of how Meredith was murdered was shown to the Jury, the entire courtroom was cleared out of RESPECT for Meredith.

There was no "corrupt agenda" ... this was about justice and putting the killers behind :jail:

Out of Respect for Meredith, true justice should prevail.....I disagree that Knox and Sollecito are guilty....Guede is responsible and deserves to be in jail and feel the weight of his actions and brutality for the rest of his life.....

BBM: JMO, but I believe that Knox was THE "instigator" of whatever happened that evening ...

Ah yes, that "look" on Knox's face outside the cottage the day Meredith was found ...

Creepy, IMO ...

:moo:
Innocent people don't go out and buy lingerie and have sex and pizza right after their roommate is brutally murdered- and do cartwheels in the police station!!! Also, she slandered her boss trying to throw him under the bus. Amanda belongs in jail asap!!!:jail::jail::jail:

True justice will have prevailed when all 3 are in jail, Guede didn't commit this murder alone- Amanda & Rudy were part of it too, whether you want to believe it or not!

This is one of the problems with this trial. The misinformation that is constantly thought to be true. Amanda bought undergarments (panties, bra) since she could not get any of her clothing from her room in the cottage. The man that "heard" them talk about having hot sex or wild sex in the clothing store did not speak English. A person does have to eat and Amanda did not go out "right after their roommate is brutally murdered" for pizza. She was also not doing cartwheels in the police station even though this was reported to the media to make Amanda appear more evil and guilty. Who brought up her bosses name during that police interview? Who asked her about who Patrick was and why she was meeting with him that night? And why didn't the police record the interviews with Amanda and RS? Not recording them makes it so much easier to say something happened that didn't OR that whatever Amanda and RS claims that happened didn't.

MOO

Thanks redheadedgal! The points mentioned are well received....I feel that investigators missed out on other possible suspects by zeroing in on knox and Sollecito from the start....for example....why would Guede give up accomplices if knox and Sollecito were in custody? Jmo

Otto, please correct me if I am wrong. They were released on appeal which found them "not guilty", then that appeal was annulled correct? Annulled means it did not exist. Therefore my understanding is that this was their appeal trial and not a retrial. How would this constitute double jeapordy?

You got it! It doesn't constitute double jeopardy.

I have read about this PR machine over and over, who was involved in this machine and how did they infiltrate the media and people's psyche? Amanda's parents look like your typical middle class income families, where did they acquire the riches and funds to afford such a huge PR machine?

Well the supporters of her innocence accuse Italy of doing the same thing. The whole of Italy. And let's add the whole of Europe to that conspiracy too.

What about the donations to Amanda and Raffaele? Where do you think that is going?

Donations + Book money.

Fair points. But even countries with treaties have denied each other extraditions on various grounds. A treaty isn't a law, it's just a way of saying that two countries are in cooperation regarding a certain matter. It's not the be-all and end-all of relations between two countries.

I think if the U.S. for some reason did deny the extradition, 1 criminal is not going to damage long standing relations between two countries.

With that being said I hope and do believe she will be extradited. Sollecito is going to serve his time and Knox needs to as well.

The message it gives to the rest of the world, and to US citizens, is that when US citizens commit murder in a foreign country, even when they are convicted, they only need return to US soil to avoid consequences for that murder. That's almost like a license to kill as long as it's done in a foreign country and the culprit is able to get home before the prison doors clang shut.

yep, they failed to collect it the first time

It wasn't just the bra clasp that they failed to collect the first time they were in the cottage. They also failed to collect the jacket that Meredith had been wearing (that clearly had blood on it), the purse found on her bed frame and I believe the sneakers that Meredith had worn that night as well. They even went so far as to put the bloody jacket in the dirty clothes hamper the first time they were there. The bloody boots that were next to the wardrobe, they threw them onto a pile of other things (shoes, clothes, etc). They decided to do the luminol testing in the hallway after they had put who knows what from who knows where on the opposite side of the hallway. When collecting the bra clasp (as has been said before) the collection process was flawed. Dirty gloved hands passing the clasp to each other, touching the metal hook (where RS's DNA was found) with those ditry gloved fingers, putting the bra clasp back "where they found it" to take a picture of where they found it.

But yet the claim is that there was no contamination at all and that everything was done according to protocol.

There is no PR machine.. Just a bunch of outraged people who have looked at this and see the farce and injustice.

".....who have looked at this..."?? I have been on here day in and day out for 6 months now, some have been looking at this for 7 years.....and they come to a different decision....it's so easy to ridicule them I see.....
