Today in the paper it was reported that the Pitt-Jolie name, "Shiloh," came in third in the Worst Celebrity Baby Name Competition. Spice Girl Geri Halliwell came in second with her "Bluebell Madonna" and Penn Jillette came in first with his "Zolten," (which is the name of Dracula's dog, according to Jillette).

So we've got names reminiscent of a dog, a cow (?!) and another dog, respectively. Hmmmm.

Eve
I think the name Shiloh is cute. The Bluebell and Apple crap is beyond belief. :slap: Naming your kid after Dracula's dog should disqualify you from being a parent. These people are really not thinking or caring what kind of teasing their children will get. Funny how all their names are normal. WHY would you do this kind of thing to your child!?!?

It's a competition to have the most unique name, but it's ridiculous. Not to mention that you won't be able to find personalized stuff in their names and nobody will be able to spell some of these names. They'll have problems all their lives. Heck, I can't even find personalized stuff for little girls with common names from my generation!

"Shiloh" is the name of a Newberry Award winning children's book about a dog. That's what I always think of when I hear that name.

On a radio station, they said there was disappointment in the Hollywood camps when Mira Sirvino (sp???) named her second child...."Johnny." That's it, Johnny.! With all the weird names, Johnny will stick out like the weird-named child.

I like Shiloh...it could have been much worse if that priest would have named her, :p . The may call her "shy" for short....that's not too unusual...

Anyway, glad she's here safe and sound and that Angie is doing well too.

Welcome to the world, beautiful child!
Oh, what a blessed life you'll lead!

Shiloh's Mom won't have anyone cashing in on her children! :)

Angelina Jolie marks Web territory for daughter Shiloh

Trust Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie to take the unusual path. While other celebrity moms are changing their newborns' nappies and putting together their babies' photo albums, Jolie is busy registering Web domains for her newborn baby girl Shiloh Nouvel to create Web sites exclusively for her daughter from Brad Pitt.

On May 27, when Shiloh was born, around 24 domain names were registered by the actress through a Los Angeles law firm. They have the Web addresses shilohjolie, shilohjoliepitt, shilohpitt, shilohnouvelpitt, shilohnouveljolie, and shilohnouveljoliepitt and extensions .com, .org, .info and .net. The administrator of the Web sites would be the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star, who will have the addresses under her control for at least a year after which she would have to renew her subscription.

They'll sell it for charity. bet you!

Angelina Jolie Overboard: Baby Shiloh Receives $17,000 Pacifier

One would assume that Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt would certainly not approve and if the accept the gift - place it up for auction and donate the cash for something worthy.

something quite, quite disposable, IMO. :slap:

I don't understand why anyone would care if they had a site with the kid's name. It isn't going to keep people from putting their pictures out there on the net. If she snapped up the space name...so what? All anyone has to do is put the name of the child on google, and tons of sites are going to pop up by the time the child is a year old. It won't keep someone from posting pictures. It won't matter what the name of the site is.

Angelina Jolie Has Shiloh, Holds Depressed Brad Pitt Hostage

New daddy Brad Pitt has really had it with Namibia, and he's dying to return to the US, but Angelina Jolie seems quite content right where she is, according to a published report.
The 'Fight Club' star moved to the Southern African country for his baby's delivery, when Angelina Jolie was about 7 months pregnant, and it has been claimed the Brad absolutely hates living there.
A source tells Britain's Star magazine, "They are cooped up in the hotel, the food isn't great and he doesn't like the heat. He seems thoroughly depressed and I think he misses Malibu."

IF this is true, I don't blame Brad. I'd want to get back to my own home too. They aren't even renting a house, they go from hotel to hotel and that would have done been old with me. There's something to be said for good old normalcy IMO.

If they continue this vagabond lifestyle after Maddox reaches proper school age (he's 4 now, isn't he?), then i'll question the wisdom.

meanwhile, looks like Brad signed up for an adventure. :)

i understand he has work commitents in Summer with the new Ocean's film. so back to Hollywood he'll have to come anyway, yes?

meanwhile, granny and grandpa Pitt have allegedly arrived in Namibia to meet their new granddaughter:

New Pitt Grandparents arrive to meet Shiloh

Brad Pitt's parents, Bill and Jane Pitt, arrived in Namibia yesterday to meet their new granddaughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. The proud grandparents arrived at a Namibian airport and then headed for the Burning Shores resort where Brad, Angelina, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh are staying.

I can't say I would blame Brad either, IF it is true. I would want to be at home in the US with my new baby. His family is here. I am sure he wants them to spend time with his first child. This is why I don't think the relationship will work long term. I don't think Angelina will stay in one place for a long period of time.

I can't wait for Ocean's 13 and am so glad most of the gang have signed up. Julia isn't going to be back, though. Wonder why?

Anyway, IMO, the kids are getting an education that just can't be taught in a classroom. OTH, I think stability, their own rooms/house and attending school is also important. Maybe when Maddox starts school they'll settle down, even if he's home schooled there should be a routine IMO. Yeah, I guess they have about another year, maybe two?

I read in USWeekly or INTouch this weekend that they are leaving Africa, then going back to Paris (don't know for how long) then back to Malibu. Maybe they are getting the traveling out of their system because they plan to settle down somewhat. It also said that AJ wants her mom to see the new baby, since her mom can't travel.

I agree. Brad has just seemed to become so wrapped up in her lifestyle, he's up her azz now. If it were me, it'd be okay at first but I'd want him to get out from under me after awhile and go do something on his own.

Not me, it would drive me crazy. :banghead: My husband and I do a lot together but we also have, and pursue, other interests that don't involve the other.

However, AJ may like him being 100% wrapped up in her and her interests. Some women are like that. She just seems independent and like she would start to feel suffocated after awhile.
