Seems there are a lot of us out there with a mother like this. When a mother has complete control of their child (like Cindy did Casey) no one else wants to step up to them and try to help the child. Casey probably really did think that Cindy had helped her with her problem, or else she thought why bother reaching out to someone like Annie (after talking with Cindy) because her mother was always going to win.
True... and Casey also had alot to hide from Annie.. she couldn't really confide with the "real" issues without exposing her own BS...which she hid from everyone..

Do you think Annie may have given Casey some Xanex in the past? Do you think maybe Annie knew of times Casey used medication to quiet down and relax Caylee?

Thanks for the clarification! I'm glad someone was able to nail this down, as I wasn't sure about the previous info I recalled.

IMO, I believe that Jeremy may be Caylee's father. He came to visit at Thanksgiving the fall before Caylee was born that summer. I have always thought he was the father. JMO though.

No one could know the "real" Casey because Casey was a mirror of whoever she was with and so probably made friends easily because everything they liked, she assimilated into her life. It became her. There was barely room to slide a stolen credit card or check between them.

Two notable areas of concern are her mother and her daughter. Looking at both of these people, Casey would inevitably see what she hates most about herself (Cindy) and what she fears for her child from her eyes. How can one be the life of the party when one's future is being just like the person you love and hate the most?

She faked her personality. always.

To me, Annie appeared very nervous on her video taped deposition. :waitasec:
Her breathing kept fluctuating, jaw tensed a couple times and stuck her lips out in a frown. Nervous smiling/laughter.

Now, whether those behaviors are part of her normal personality has yet to be determined. She didn't seem a very nervous girl in pictures/video I've come across including her. :banghead:

Something else that bothered me in said deposition, Annie repeatedly said she would avoid it and tend to direct the conversation else where when it seemed Casey would start opening up about the case as they sat on Casey's bed, catching up while she was out on bail.
Annie said she didn't press her or go for Casey's bait because "she didn't want to be the one who knew everything.". :snooty:

Off to watch that deposition... refreshing my memory :back:

I think there were few that really saw the truths of the family dysfunction.. Cindy's mom, Cindy's brother and possibly other family members.. definitely not outsiders. And if you spoke out against what you saw going on (like Cindy's brothers) you were discarded.

I think Cindy was the Plesea's Casey IMO.

If you notice Cindy's ability to be able to control them. For example when Rick told investigators Cindy "forbid" him from doing any televised interviews when she found out he tried to explain family dynamics in that blog. He did not say negative things about his family as far as I saw, rather corrected untruths as far as he had been able to see and even came to the defense of his sister who he deeply believed was in denial and protecting her child.

Shirley Plesea was even taken a back when police presented her with evidence because Cindy hadn't been truthful with her. Shirley was very angry with her son Rick, I am sure because she had Cindy in her ear. She also believed Cindy would do anything to protect Casey.

OT but what kind of grand daughter doesn't give a care about their grand mothers well being? In the taped jail visits between GA, CA and KC when Cindy mentions "Gramma's not doing to good..." and even goes on to repeat the sentiment, Casey sort of gives her a cold "get to the point" facial expression.

My 88 year old grandmother has been having health issues for the past year, people were coming to terms with the idea that she might not be able to make it to our wedding in March because of a stroke. If I was in jail, knowing how my grandmother lies awake at night praying for and worrying over her family, I would have been very upset if my parents had shared that.
My grandmother came to our wedding, danced the twist like I have never seen. She said she "wouldn't have missed it for the world". Grams are special people!

hey now.... :nono:
there is nothing heartbreaking about that picture except that it has the image of a dear sweet departed child in it.

there is NOTHING WRONG with a mother taking a picture of herself!
as a young mother once struggling to find her own identity, i STRONGLY disagree with this statement.

she is NOT PUSHING caylee out of the way... i don't see a hand on her face or anything of the sort!!

who is to say that a mother may only take photos of her child... that every single picture should be of her baby... and if OMG the mother MUST photograph herself, the baby is required to be in mommy's lap.

i am no KC supporter, but jeez!! :furious:
i know we all want to crucify her for her every movement and rightly so, but..... sheesh.

i am sorry if this comes off as mean, its not supposed to, it just got under my skin.

I'm rolling my eyes at your post. I agree with the original poster. When my Son was a toddler he was in every pic w/me if he were there with me. This just reconfirms that Casey is a self centered murderer. It makes me sick, it Casey, Casey, Casey as usual. She could of cared less about Caylee and this pic says it all..... If they had their heads at least 4 inches apart they could have had Caylee in the pic, but no they didn't even think about her.

Here is a pick of Annie in the hat.

:( I just noticed Caylee in the back seat of that picture :beersign:

My vote... Mark Hawkins, hands down.;)... I think LE knows who.. This is big news...those that slept with her during that time would have offerred DNA just to be sure.

Hey WS:)

You are all very kind. I am sorry, this thread is not about me and I didn't mean...well-

This is about Casey and what she may or may not have done to her daughter. This is about the fact that a beautiful little girl is gone. Yes. Even though my mother did what she did and Cindy has done whatever she has done-Casey did not have to hurt her daughter.

If Casey felt so badly about what her mother had done she should have thought more about her own daughter. I only come at it from this angle(the Cindy angle)because I so want an explaination for why this horrible stuff happens. Thank you all for being so kind, especially the mods who would have every right to pull my post for being so off topic.

The people on WS are the most kind I have ever encountered. I am glad you all are here for children, and other victims of terrible crimes. And, to stay on topic in this post-I was hoping that there would be someone else's statement in this latest doc dump. Maybe another one from Annie that we didn't know about. Sorry for using WS to share so much of my personal issues-and again you have all been too kind to me.

Thank you all.

...jmo...

Eidetic, I haven's seen the video of Annie's depo yet, do you have a link please? TIA

I believe there are seven parts that particular youtube user uploaded for the Annie Downing deposition.

There is something strange in Annie's deposition.

Annie says when she first visited Casey home (when George and Cindy took her to Casey) that Casey told her that Caylee was going to be home before her third birthday, that she knew Caylee was going to be home before her third birthday.

But, Caylee's birthday was on August 9, and Casey was still in jail on August 9.
How could Annie have this conversation with Casey?

CA is probably the one who told her this, if true-I believe CA told AD a lot of things which accounts for some of her behavior in the interviews with LE and Morgan, and the scenario at the A's house when AD was there (CA sleeping with them, AD not asking questions).... CA did not want AD cooperating with them.

Chiquita71, I think you have done an excellent job approaching this in your writing. We have all tried to figure this case out and it has touched us all emotionally. We've all looked at our own families, some of us seeing the dysfunction. A sigh of relief, most of us have not killed due to any bad parenting. We got out. We learned how to heal ourselves. I think many of us have learned to love you through your sharing.

But back to OT - Annie. Why was she so quick to go spend an entire night with Casey and Cindy. It had to be the most uncomfortable situation. Something forced her to do this? She didn't want to know anything Casey wanted to share. Why would she rush to do a sleep-over? The three of them had to have this meeting for some reason. No wonder we all think it's alittle strange 'cause it is.

Obviously she didn't know how to pop popcorn :waitasec: seriously, until her depo was released, I was giving her the benefit of doubt. But no more. She sneaks into the house after crouching down in the car. Ok, I get that. But to tell LE she didn't want to know and that all they said was small talk between them and then to get into their jammies and watch movies :loser: was the turning point for me.

Annie is but an extension of KC. She sees in KC what she hates about herself. She is a CA lemming. And the Xanax story .... well it's just that .... a story. She was prepped well but the delivery was a poor act. It doesn't even deserve a single star rating.

ITA That speaks volumes to me about her character and who she is! Can you just imagine not wanting to know? She (Annie) knew Caylee from birth! She watched her grow! She saw her develop from an infant into a toddler! I'm sure she held her and played with her! We never had that chance and yet here we are day after day - supporting each other as we search for the truth behind the murder of a little girl we never knew-but grew to love through just pictures and video!!
Somewhere along the line Annie and KC grew apart-for some reason that hasn't been shared by either party. And I'm sure we'll never know the reason-the real reason. I still say Annie was acting out of self-preservation. I believe she (Annie) is in a place where if she crosses KC she knows she will be drawn into this mess and become collaterally damaged herself!
I still wonder how these people sleep at night, how are they not haunted in their dreams and how do they look at themselves in the mirror in the morning?:waitasec:
