Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but this is not the only interview/magazine etc. (or I suppose I should say photo rights) that the A's were supposedly paid for is it?
3.25% of $200,000 licensing fee.
That seems like an odd number for a cut. Actor's agents make 10 -15% for example.
I'm confused by the wording, though. On one hand it says that they were paid for photos, on the other hand CA states that they weren't paid for the interview. She was the one who handed over the photos so she was quite aware they were being used. Is she saying that she was unaware they would be getting paid for this? I'm also wondering why she used the phrase "on my behalf" but not "our" behalf. Where's George in this? Sorry if this has already been discussed.I agree. Maybe it would have been more diplomatic to wait for a response (or no response) to the email before threatening them with MN. Diplomatic is not CA's style though.
I would question the payment if I were CA, especially if I were the one accused of profiting from the interviews.
I'm waiting for them, to turn on themselves now.
Thank you...that's exactly what I've been thinking. If Garrison made $ off of photos, the A's would have known about it b/c they had the rights to the photos and they would have had to sign the deal. They know exactly where every dime paid for the photos went.
Isn't a spokeperson another way of saying PR agent?
What is the value from all the stupid photoshopped imagery and name calling ?
Isn't a spokeperson another way of saying PR agent? Agents get a cut of all monies from work they book for their client.
Thank you...that's exactly what I've been thinking.
I think after the latest shananigans that went on with this family I don't think NG wants to touch it with a 10 foot pole. I do find it odd that she dropped the case like a hot potato. Wonder if she was talked to or threatened?
$6,500.00 just seems like such a small amount of money for a licensing fee. Sounds more like a commision on the licensing fee???
(We'll soon find out more...)
Then I guess you'll have to discount the emails between Cindy and the NBC Rep (in which Cindy points out that she and George received no payment for their interview), and the invoice for payment faxed from LG's office in California.
Why would NBC be paying LG a commission as a spokesperson???
I care what his motive is. A good deed is only geniune when its done with good intentions. If you look at his motives ($$$$$$$) you can see his line of vision......hey, this kids missing..I can bail KC out, (with a publicity co.'s money), and throw myself right in the middle of this saga....garner a ton of publicity, be a stand out character in this circus (always in black with the cowboy hat, can't miss him) go on national tv and basically talk out of his a**, (because nothing he has said has been proven to be true), throw together a half-baked search effort, that's broadcast live on the internet,(for just a little more publicity) then finally realize, I guess we won't find her, (after TM says so) and decides he will be leaving Orlando within a few days.
Hmm, wonder what he's going to do now? (shop around for the highest bidders on book deals, reality tv shows, magazine exclusive interviews)
So I care what his motive is. Ok.
Probably the same reason a manager gets a booking fee off the top for booking the band for a gig. The booking agent makes sure all contracts are signed and in order, arranges transportation, hotels, interviews etc. I wouldn't sign on to be a spokesperson and not get a fee, there is a lot of work involved. One interview could take 4 to 5 days to negotiate 50 phone calls, contracts running back and forth. The title spokesperson sounds trite but it isn't. JMO.
I think the truth maybe a mix of the two stories, but I find it unsettling that TM is siding with MN about anything, especially in the newspapers.
Did he get the KoolAid too?![]()
The title of spokesperson certainly isn't trite, but what I meant is that a fee for booking or brokering an interview would be paid from monies paid to the person(s) giving the interview (the A's), not directly from NBC. In my own experience, having once been an office/function manager for a large museum in Boston where the museum could be booked for functions after hours; I made all the arrangements, wrote contracts, and was the go-between for the people holding the function and the museum. The function people paid the museum for the event, and in turn the museum paid me a percentage of it.
In this case, the A's received no money for their interview, and according to NBC the only money paid by them was a fee for the use of pictures. That money was paid directly to LG.
In any event there's surely more to come on this story, but this is how it seems to stand at the moment as I see it.![]()
