GUILTY AR - Dr. Randeep & Sangeeta Mann for car bombing, West Memphis, 2009

I agree SuziQ. I just found it odd that no one is really suspecting them, at least not on here and thats one of the first things brought up in most cases.
No one in the media is discussing their relationship, no typical "Oh, they were very happily married" or otherwise. I understand people have a right to privacy but under these circumstances there is usually something said.

I had read that LE has cleared the wife. They went through his computers, email, etc, and found that the couple had a strong 26+ year marriage. Doesn't mean she couldn't be a suspect in the future, but they specifically said she isn't one now.

Do you have a link, because I would really like to read this.

ETA: I just skimmed over every article posted on this thread and I can't find anything that says family has been cleared. I hope I'm wrong, somebody PLEASE prove me wrong. I haven't watched the pressers because I just switched to firefox and still haven't installed flash or whatever it is.

I hate to go there but no one else has yet (unless I skipped a post in which case I apologize)and I like to discuss every possibility, feel free to discount my theory because I have not had time to go through every article.
The first person we normally suspect is the spouse. Has anyone found anything on the state of their marriage, or a statement from LE clearing a family connection? I know his wife probably did not do this, but "no stone unturned" right? As far as the 24 hr protection she is receiving, it could simply be them monitoring her but giving them just saying it's "protection".
So....flame away if you must-but I think it needs to be discussed just as it is in all other cases.

I don't think you're going to get flamed for writing what has probably occurred to all of us. You can't be on WS for long to realize you can't discount family members! I sure haven't found anything that indicates the family has been investigated (Not saying I think his family had anything to do with it. Just sayin' I haven't seen anything about them being cleared either.) If anybody has a link about the family's being cleared, I'd like to read it.

Sorry Missy, I did a cursory search earlier, as I didn't have time, but I'll try and search for it now.

This is probably where I heard the information.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,488426,00.html

VAN SUSTEREN: Any family or marriage problems or financial issues?

PAUDERT: Absolutely not. His wife, Melissa, works with him at the doctor's office. They have a great relationship. There's just no problems anywhere that we know of right now.

VAN SUSTEREN: Have you gone through his e-mail, through his mail? Has he complained about any threats or any weird stalking, anything like that, sir?

PAUDERT: He has never complained of any threats. I asked his wife tonight while I was at the hospital. She said they don't -- they've never received any strange phone calls, no e-mails. There's just no -- no -- it's just a mystery, at this point, why someone would do this.

Alot of details about how a thick coat saved Dr Pierce, his injuries and how he's doing.

Hi Suzi!

This strikes me odd, from the article you posted:

Pierce's wife, Melissa, was inside Wednesday when he walked out the door to go to work. Moments later, a loud boom shook the house. She looked out the window to see her husband sprawled across a flower bed about 6 feet from his white Lexus sport utility vehicle.

Frantic, she ran outside and flagged down a passing car, pleading with the occupants to call 911.

Why do you find that odd? I don't know that I'd go looking for a phone myself, I'd probably run out and see if my spouse was okay.

Thanks for the link to the Greta interview Soobs! I am still on the fence. I was hoping for a more recent article that cleared his wife, that interview was done on February 4th, the same day it happened, I doubt there was enough time to investigate much.

Ita, and I'm glad you said it. I would have gone for a phone in the house. They have good friends that live next door and across the street. I wonder if in a panicked state that was where she was headed?

One thing I feel strongly about, is whoever is behind this, knew the couple's schedule. They always carpool together, but were not that morning because Dr Pierce was headed to Little Rock later.

Has anyone confirmed that this was his car and not his wife's car? The reason I ask is because I have that same model of car...different color.... and both of my sons think it is too "girly" of a car for them to drive after I get a new one in the future. In addition to that, the particular color of white that this model of car comes in has a sparkly finish in the paint...just doesn't seem like a car that a man would choose, so I thought it might be the wife's car. That would change the direction of the investigation, especially if that particular day they were scheduled to drive separate cars to work due to his meeting out of town.

For those who question the wife's involvement as a possibility...what if the plan was for HER car to blow up and there was some kind of mix up when it detonated before anyone started the car?

Whoever did this had to have been stalking the doctor, so he'd know exactly which car was his, what time he would leave the house for work, know that he would be the one to move the tire. The person probably had their routines down to a science. I don't think the wife was the target. The license plates would tell the cars apart. As far as the car looking "girly" some men may drive huge pick up trucks, others a family van; i think it's irrelevant, i'm sure the doctor is secure in his sexuality lol
It's possible the intended target was both of them, although i'm sure the doctor would have moved the tire out of the way for his wife, not have her do it. Tires can be heavy. That's why i believe he was the intended target.

As for the wife running outside pleading with passerby to call 911, i think she was in a complete state of panic, the love of her life was lying down, she didn't know if he was dead or not, certainly the damage to him looked bad and in that state she probably wanted to get to his side as fast as she could.

here's a link to the latest news I could find.
I guess the investigators won't be making any comments until they solve the case.
It's good that the Dr. seems to be making progress with his recovery

Thanks for the update. I hope that means LE is following some good leads and getting close. They don't seem to be asking for info anymore.

When they are able to tell how the bomb was made, they will be able to tell if it matches any other bombs that were made out there. Each one is different, and i think that will probably be what LE is going on; the components of the bomb. Lord knows, if it was at random.. another bomber on the loose then. Random or not, the bomber had to stalk the doctor to know his schedule..

I can't believe there isn't more on this! I thought the media would be all over it.
I wonder if it's the same West Memphis police force investigating this as the WM3 case. I think I read the FBI is involved? That is good.
One thing that seems odd is this guy isn't involved in abortions. When you hear "doctor" or "clinic" and "bomb," that's usually the case.

Thanks for the links MissieMt

I would like to think the reason they're not releasing too much info is because they do have and are investigating possible leads. No sense in tipping their hand.

I'll keep this poor man in my prayers for his healing. Hope he'll still be able to continue his life's work, healing people.

I guess the LE was really at a dead end when they said that they were on this case. I can't find any updates on the investigation.

Here is an update for the Dr.:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,497606,00.html

"The chairman of the Arkansas State Medical Board has no memory of a bombing that destroyed his left eye and left him severely burned, a family friend said Wednesday.

Dr. Trent Pierce has mouthed a simple question to his wife in the last few days — what happened? That question could stymie detectives hoping Pierce could provide leads into why someone placed a homemade explosive in the driveway of his West Memphis home."

It's nice to see he's getting better.

I hope the police have a list of suspects. I'm guessing that wouldn't be too hard for them to get. People who are steamed at a verdict he made would be #1 on my suspect list. #2 would be if anyone close to him was in severe financial problems and would benefit by his murder. #3 would be to look into any possible affairs he may have been having. :twocents:

Thanks for the update Kat. It's great to hear the doc is doing better, but sad to hear that LE hasn't made any headway.
