A 23-year-old woman is in jail Tuesday night, accused of shooting her father to death on Monday night in Ozark.

Police arrested Audrea Waldo and accused her of killing her father, Joel Waldo, after an argument. Investigators said her father was shot at least five times with a .45-caliber pistol. She has not yet been charged with any crime.

Waldo and her friends contend the shooting was in self-defense.

Audrea and Joel Waldo lived together, officials said, along with her 90-year-old grandmother. Waldo's friends said her father kept her as a prisoner in their home.

"He made her take care of him, and I know he was capable of taking care of himself," said Jennifer Wheeler. "She never got out and got a job, ever. She's never really had a boyfriend."

Friends also said Waldo was scared for her life. Police are still investigating the details of the shooting.
