While some fans have criticized Duggars parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, in the aftermath of the molestation scandal for not publicly disclosing the situation sooner, Seewald said that they are also not to blame and acted as godly parents should.
How many of you would broadcast the sins of your children to the whole world? Would you be willing to publicize your own darkest moments? Seewald, a devout Christian, asked in the blog post.
I wanted to speak to this-we have discussed this at length, but the Duggar family put themselves into the position of broadcasting their darkest moments when they decided on a reality show knowing that this was lurking. As for rule number 4 on the list regarding self-gain...is that for real? They are on air collecting fees and pushing their own version of goods and services. They are not doing this for any other reason than self gain.
Perhaps they will begin to view all of this as their penance for being prideful and gaining materially. This is not the world picking on them-this is their time to review their epic shortcomings and failures in regards to their parenting and the sham (imo) that their lifestyle is.
Josh committed his crimes against two families over the period of a year and repeatedly with the same set of victims. In spite of being instructed and counseled to stop. He was persistent. Imvho, that indicates someone who is a danger...I think it is fair to consider him a danger. As others pointed out, when the Duggars swept this under the rug they prevented others from being able to adequately protect their children from him.
As far as I have been able to see, it is not customary to destroy records of an investigation like this one. The fact that they were ordered to be destroyed is quite suspicious.
