Anyone else wonder why PG has so many vehicle citations listed on the parole report time line? One of them by the way, doesn't say it was him, driving, but a car registered to him. I just posted a new possible victim yesterday from Oct. 18, 1988 who was last seen at the Stockton DMV. Could Garrido have been there registering one of his clunkers, or paying a fine. (Been so long since I had one, is that where you go to do that, pay a fine?) Heck, he went through so many cars, I wonder if he changed vehicles every time he committed a crime? There would surely be a record of him being there that day, or surveillance cameras in there right?

I don't know. Is there a DMV in Antioch? Where's the closest one to his house? Stockton isn't far from Antioch. Or he could have been in Stockton for some other business, like scoring some drugs. Who knows? I just wonder if they had surveillance cameras back then in state buildings?

I am fairly certain there is one in Antioch, Martinez, Concord and Walnut Creek. These are all MUCH closer than Stockton is. Not to say that I would rule him out from being there, but he would be pretty far out of his way.

He seems to like Berkley and the San Francisco region. There are several between Antioch and San Francisco.

Thanks, I forgot I was going to respond to this. Pittsburg and Concord are the closest DMV offices. I don't see him driving all the way to Stockton, but he could have. The Pittsurg and Concord offices tend to have very long wait times.

I couldn't remember how far Stockton was from Antioch. But yeah, I actually go to one a little further away where I live because it's never busy. I was just thinking that he had so many cars, they probably knew him by name at the DMV!

I do remember parts of old downtown Stockton had turned really bad and also thought that he might have gone there to score some drugs or pick up a hooker. There was an excellent Basque Restaurant there, and they had their own guard out front. Don't know if it's still there, it was called Ospital's Villa Basque. Being older and wiser, I'm not sure I'd go near that neighborhood now.

Wonder if the victim's family was ever asked if that woman could have driven towards Brentwood/Oakley/Antioch ... since it just says that the DMV in Stockton is where she was last seen. In 1988, do you think Garrido would have been going back and forth to Tahoe?

Unfortunately, I think he was going anywhere he damn well pleased. Wasn't he on parole when he went to visit Katie and when he kidnapped Jaycee? Yep.

I feel soooo bad for these women, and my friend Christine's Eastin's Mom had to go to her grave never knowing what happened to her daughter. It's all heartbreaking.

BTW, if I remember what I read, I don't believe she was driving, but had taken the bus.

Yes, she was abducted in 1988 while at a convenience store. Her friend was with her at the time. The abductor moved her scooter while the kids were in the store, and when Michaela went to retrieve it, the abductor snatched her and threw her in the car. There was a composite sketch made by Michaela's friend at the time (it has been revised a couple of times).

I added the attachments of the suspect in Michaela's abduction with two pictures, and also of one of Garrido. Remember, this was 21 years ago. I think the thin lips of Garrido and the sketch are quite similar.

Now, all these months later, I found an article (will post link when I find it again) confirming Nancy Garrido's admitting that she and her husband went "shopping" for a child, decided on Jaycee ("She's the one I want. She's cute."), yet returned for her in the morning, because she was with a group of children at the time. They tailed her to her home, so they knew where to find her the next day.

Have you been to Sharon Murch's (Michaelas Mom), website? It is called The Wondering Heart and it has a lot of information in her blog. She updates as things happen, or she feels the need to write. She seems to be a wonderful woman!

i thought i read somewhere garrido was in a halfway house till december that year. granted knowing how he snatched jaycee, that doesnt rule him out.

Garrido claimed he was ready to get his life in line in 1978, that would be two years after the rape he was convicted of. He also wrote how he was ashamed of his past but his future was in "controle." So do you really take his claims seriously?

Maybe Jaycee and her girls were no longer options for him, but maybe he had other victims since the birth of Angel and Starlit.

Let's also consider the BTK Killer was dormant for several years, boasting his family as the reason. When you're a father, you just don't have time to prey.

This may not have anything at all to do with Jaycee's case, and I posted this question on the UID person's forum today and haven't received any help, so I'm putting it out to you guys:


I could use a little help from you more experienced sleuthers out there! I've been searching for a friend from high school who has been missing since 1971. I found on Namus a description of an UID that was found in LA area in 1976 and they estimated death 1976. The estimated age would be right. What really caught my attention is the clothing that was found; both the pants and the shirt sound very similar to what my friend was wearing at the time of disappearance. The hair length is right, but the color is wrong. My question is this how accurate are coroners information as to hair color, what if the hair had been bleached or colored? How accurate is height/weight when taken from a dead body? How accurate is death date determination? Within months, years, ??? I find the clothing thing almost too coincidental not to submit it. Any help you can give me, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
