GUILTY Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2 (guilty plea, father found dead 5 November 2025 before sentencing)

It would’ve been poetic justice if he’d burnt to a crisp in a blazingly hot car, but of course he wouldn’t allow himself to suffer long, so I imagine he shot himself?

We will find out.

Anyway it’s November and even in Arizona it wouldn’t have been as hot as when he killed Parker.

Parker honey, from Heaven when you look down at your father in hell, I hope you only feel that justice was done for you, in some manner, and know that your sisters are safe.

yeah, I don't imagine him taking a painful way out. Gonna guess booze combined with pills. IF that turns out to be the case, it will be interesting to learn where and how he obtained one or both those items under ES's watchful eye. I mean court docs made it clear she was monitoring his expenditures which is why he was boosting beer from convenience stores and she believed he had been sober for the 3 months prior to Parker's death

I was trying to imagine a scenario where he went off by himself to do it. Instead of leaving the children's home indelibly marked with the results of his death. I don't know yet if it was their home (?) If so why wouldn't the whole family be there at 5 a.m. wed, Nov 5?

The report iirc said found at 5 a.m., so I guess we don't really know when he did it. Maybe took a handful of pills and went to bed like normal, then found at 5?
Why do you think the whole family wasn’t there? 5AM the children were probably still asleep. Erika got up to start the day & found Christopher. She called 911who would’ve arrived in minutes then a wait for the Coroner’s Office to pick him up. She could’ve gotten the girls up & out of the house quickly off to a friend or neighbor while waiting for the coroner.

I guess I just put it an odd way, i do think they all were there given time, school season, day of week. Ie, if that address 7th street, etc is their home, I don't know why they wouldn't all be there.

Is it just me or does Judge Lopez have somethings to answer for? The DA obviously wanted him in custody the day he pleaded guilty, it was in the contract. It had to have been her decision to leave him free, just like she decided to let him take a vacation, left him out of jail without bond for the last 15 months and let him live in the house with 2 other children he had also abused. Now Erika will make him a martyr.
Absolutely.

Forgive me, but I’m in shock only because I didn’t think he would actually have it in him to kill himself. I believed he would make a run for it instead. But I definitely never thought that he would show up today to turn himself in, which is why I was so bewildered when I read the Judge was allowing him so much time out in the world between his sentencing and his report date.

Forget who Christopher Scholtes has shown himself to be as a person, wouldn’t it be negligent to allow ANY defendant that type of free time after they’re told they’ll be going to jail for 40 years? It blows my mind.

MOO.

Was CS caught shoplifting the booze? I’ve seen it mentioned a couple of times- just missed he original post.

Wouldn't it be CS-like if the (suspected) OD got portrayed to the kids as another tragic accident. Daddy didn't mean it...

yes the court docs (linked somewhere in this thread) released show him shoplifting tall boys from a gas station, taking them into the Men's room, and presumably guzzling them, since he exited without them, on the day of parker's death.

Obviously we don't know cause of death (or is it manner) but he was a convicted felon, please tell me he had to surrender his passport and firearms at the time of his plea.

Today wasn't the plea, right? He was appearing for sentencing, which would have followed directly, yes?

The Court is lucky he didn't apparently take anyone else out with him.

JMO
He was told at his arraignment no firearms. Judge Lopez declined to take his passport when the DA requested it before his Hawaiian vacay, as far as we know it was never taken. There was some question about what was going to happen today. We were told after his guilty plea that he would be turning himself in today. His formal sentencing was scheduled for 11/21.

In store videos, after the fact. He wasn't caught red handed.

He was due to report to prison, but never arrived at the hearing Wednesday, where he was scheduled to be taken into custody.

Scholtes recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to between 20 and 30 years in prison.
His cause of death remains under investigation.

Accidental OD ?

He wasn’t caught as in apprehended, but during the investigation they found him on store video taking it into bathroom and coming out empty handed. And maybe another store where he actually picked it up and shoplifted

I’m actually shocked by this. I thought that he would run and that he thought too highly of himself to take himself out. We can be sure that his final act included no remorse for Parker; he was terrified of going to prison and he took the coward’s way out. Selfish to the end.

All JMO.
The fact that the kidlets now have to process this after everything they've been through ticks me off to no end. Hoping that they didn't see anything if it's what we're all suspecting.
Selfish coward till the very end.
I won't speak on his wife.
IMO.

He also dropped a couple of “beverages” into the bag (unpaid for) with other items he paid for at self check out at Basha’s.

ITA !
And ditto to the bolded ... it's better if I stay 'mum' about that mum.
Omo.

Look at her proudly showing off her doodle artwork !
Rest in gentle peace, Parker.

How terrible for whomever found him and the survivors. How unfair for his children. They have now had so much loss in such a short time.

That judge must have felt she meant well, but he was an addict and emotionally unstable. This possibility was very foreseeable.

Well. I've been trying to catch up with this thread for a couple of weeks, and I especially wanted it to be before today, so we could all observe him finally getting his punishment in real time.

I did think there was a chance he'd do this, or more likely flee, but I'm still shocked. Times like these I wish I still believed in hell, so I could imagine Satan standing there poking him with a pitchfork.

I just wonder what happened between the time he rejected the first plea deal, then pled with the longer sentence. Because I also think his exit was decided before then.

Accidentally on purpose. But yes I’m sure Erika is already explaining to the kids it was just a little accident, if it was an OD. Daddy Dearest couldn’t sleep so he took a pill & he just made a little mistake when he forgot he had taken meds for his painful back. Too much multitasking caught up with him. 🙄

Does anyone besides me think the judge should be removed from the bench or at minimum, just exit stage left?
