GUILTY Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2 (guilty plea, father found dead 5 November 2025 before sentencing)

I hope that Parker’s sisters are being looked after as they’ve experienced a lot of trauma in a short time, their baby sister is dead and the man responsible for it has now killed himself in their house

Unless he was home alone, carbon monoxide put everyone at risk.

But then, everyone doesn't seem to have been a concern of his.

Scholtes took a plea deal and pled guilty to second-degree murder and child abuse in October ... he was set to turn himself in to authorities yesterday ... authorities report he took his own life Tuesday night. His manner of death is believed to be carbon-monoxide poisoning.

This is exactly what I worried about. If that house has an attached garage he could’ve taken all of them out with him. Putting himself in the car & leaving everyone else in their beds it would’ve looked like an accident if the family had perished. He was such a selfish sob, to the very end. I hope Erika is able to come to her senses and at some point realize what a toxic relationship they had. Her life with her kids will be so much better without him keeping them down.

I’m glad to hear that ES did take Parker’s death hard, that she did maybe have some sort of maternal instinct. Maybe there is hope for her after all.

Attached is one snip from her mom’s statement; the other snip is from her brother.

Oh ffs, I wish I hadn't read that about Chris. I loathe him even more now.

Something I've low key wondered about this whole time: Why did the older girls not ask him about Parker after they got home that day? You'd think they would've wondered where their little sister was. Or maybe they just knew what their dad always did and there was no point in asking, because he'd get her out of the car when he was finished with his important business. I've thought maybe they did ask and he left Parker anyway, but we've seen some of what they told police and I don't think that was mentioned.

And no, of course I don't think it was their job to take care of her. But we know that neglected/abused children do tend to become proxy parents to the littler ones.

In their interviews the 5 year old said:

She said she did not see her after they had gotten home and said she was in the car. She said she knew she was in the car because her dad had told her if *Parker wasn't in his hands, she was in the car.
*Parker’s name was redacted in the report. It sounds like Parker may have been going through that clingy phase that toddlers go through that probably drove Christopher nuts with his need for me time. I really despise him.

How traumatizing for a little one. I can’t imagine the fear being left alone. I can’t go there. Sooo sad 😢

I read somewhere that Parker did not even have a bed at age 2? She slept in the parents’ bed. Was that in the file I can’t get to open?

Nowadays co-sleeping even for years isn't extremely rare. I don't know if that's what they did, though.

Yes, see screenshot of P. 26 from the large file. The affiant did not observe a crib or "appropriate sized bed" for Parker.

Agreed. He was tired of Parker. Toddlers can test the patience of loving, wonderful parents. Forget about narcissistic dry drunk deadbeat dad.

I am almost positive that CS didn't want to work because he didn't want to pay a dime of child support for his oldest daughter. Mean people like that, take it out on the children, and will do anything to avoid paying child support. It is petty and cruel. For them, they consider it a "win".

For the benefit of folks who have had trouble viewing the large file of documents related to Parker's death/CS's arrest, I am posting here a much smaller .pdf file that only contains the two statements given to law enforcement by Cynthia King (ES' mother/CS' mother-in-law) and Juan Velasquez (ES' brother/CS' brother-in-law).

I think the statements are remarkably illuminating, in terms of the Scholtes family's dynamics (both before and after Parker's death), and anyone who's followed the case from the beginning (and even those who just started following it recently) will appreciate the insights these two individuals volunteered to share with investigators.

(In particular, CK’s comments [p. 10 of her statement] about CS wanting to keep the vehicle in which his daughter died an utterly horrific death made my blood run cold).

I know that there might be different ways to “organize” it. But ES was in the house, too. Didn’t he put her at risk if he did it in the house? Did he care about her at all?

THANK YOU for posting this shortened pdf. It is illuminating for sure.

I'm only 3/4 of the way through grandma's interview. And although I am grateful she came forward to speak, I can't help but feel annoyed with her and her son, for sitting by, after they knew what they knew about this neglectful, abusive horrible father who was routinely putting his children in danger. :(

I can't imagine going to my son's house and finding my little granddaughter, alone in a locked car, while he is drinking and on his playstation. OR if his wife was doing similar neglectful abusive things. That child would be in my house until we figured out the next steps, which could include CPS if they didnt make immediate changes.

This narcissist left them alone at night while he went out to the liquor store and who knows where...He didn't really watch them or care for them while he was home , and was emotionally and physically abusive. You don't 'smuzsh' a little child's face to make them hurry up. Or grab them by the arm and whip them around. I'm sure it was much worse when no witnesses were there.

The 5 yr old knew her baby sister was in the car, but she also knew there was no hope in telling Dad because he wanted it the way. It must weigh on that poor child.

And then her stupid blind idiotic mother is forcing her to ignore all the ugliness and pretend Daddy is just fine, no problems here. 🥺

I wanted to throw my laptop when I read that Dear Daddy asked wifey to have 'another baby' just weeks after he killed their 2 yr old. Hey why not just have another? No harm, no foul.

If it's true, it's shocking. As if he felt little to nothing about what happened in that car.

She's wasn't a person with feelings to him. No thought was made by him for her feelings, emotions, trauma, need to heal. No thought about how difficult a pregnancy and childbirth would be for her. Etc.

RSFB

Was he allowed to keep the car? And what car did he use for own suicide? (I thought that there might be some connection there, but was sure that LE needed the car for investigation and didn’t return it back. Now I am having second thoughts.)

In that pdf they say some CS friend named ryan bought a red convertible and put it in CS's name. I'm sure someone will correct me if I got that wrong. But I don't remember seeing what happened to the car he let Parker die in.

Damn. There's just no way.

Did Chris have some kind of disability? He seemed completely oblivious about... everything. There's no way he wasn't a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic... ???

I wouldn’t call narcissism a disability… but he was definitely a narcissist
