For the benefit of folks who have had trouble viewing the large file of documents related to Parker's death/CS's arrest, I am posting here a much smaller .pdf file that only contains the two statements given to law enforcement by Cynthia King (ES' mother/CS' mother-in-law) and Juan Velasquez (ES' brother/CS' brother-in-law).
I think the statements are remarkably illuminating, in terms of the Scholtes family's dynamics (both before and after Parker's death), and anyone who's followed the case from the beginning (and even those who just started following it recently) will appreciate the insights these two individuals volunteered to share with investigators.
(In particular, CK’s comments [p. 10 of her statement] about CS wanting to keep the vehicle in which his daughter died an utterly horrific death made my blood run cold).
THANK YOU for posting this shortened pdf. It is illuminating for sure.
I'm only 3/4 of the way through grandma's interview. And although I am grateful she came forward to speak, I can't help but feel annoyed with her and her son, for sitting by, after they knew what they knew about this neglectful, abusive horrible father who was routinely putting his children in danger.
I can't imagine going to my son's house and finding my little granddaughter, alone in a locked car, while he is drinking and on his playstation. OR if his wife was doing similar neglectful abusive things. That child would be in my house until we figured out the next steps, which could include CPS if they didnt make immediate changes.
This narcissist left them alone at night while he went out to the liquor store and who knows where...He didn't really watch them or care for them while he was home , and was emotionally and physically abusive. You don't 'smuzsh' a little child's face to make them hurry up. Or grab them by the arm and whip them around. I'm sure it was much worse when no witnesses were there.
The 5 yr old knew her baby sister was in the car, but she also knew there was no hope in telling Dad because he wanted it the way. It must weigh on that poor child.
And then her stupid blind idiotic mother is forcing her to ignore all the ugliness and pretend Daddy is just fine, no problems here.
I wanted to throw my laptop when I read that Dear Daddy asked wifey to have 'another baby' just weeks after he killed their 2 yr old. Hey why not just have another? No harm, no foul.
