Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2

  • #401
At the beginning of the video when he's being arrested was that his wife who tells LE they have "no heart?
LE said Parker was left in the car for 3 hrs and they dispute his 30 mins to 1 hr and also dispute that he left the car running with the A/C on.
I wish he would go to trial.

IMO I believe it is his mother saying they have "no heart" and his wife saying don't worry, she will take care of things at home (paraphrasing).

I thought it was HER mother, his mother in law, but I could be wrong.

I don't know all of the details of this case and agree you very well may be right. Either way, my heart goes out to the children's grandparents, too. It would be so difficult to grieve while directly supporting your children and grandchildren at the same time. And to end up on video on the Internet. ☹️

I think you’re correct, assuming msm reported accurately:

This article says the same and if it isn’t paywalled (it wasn’t for me) it’s worth reading as a refresher of events leading up to the child’s death. It includes stories from neighbors seeing the kids wandering alone outside among other observations.

One neighbor said they hadn’t ever met Erika and had decided early on to never let their kids be alone with Chris.

In 2019 a woman called police for a wellness call after observing the children alone in the car for 15 minutes in front of a pizza parlor.

Hoping tomorrow’s hearing is televised. Anyone know what time?

9 am Arizona time. I looked it up earlier and I think it will be audio only via a YouTube link. Should show up on this list tomorrow.

nothing on the court site, nothing on youtube. Crickets. Once again, secrecy rules apparently for this very special defendant. sigh. I want to know what is happening with this hearing.

Hmm, when I searched the records using Chris’ case number CR20242725 I got a message that the case is available at the court.

I don’t know if it’s standard for murder cases or if a judge has ordered some sort of block to public information on his case. His trial supposedly is set for September so today’s hearing would have been a pre trial hearing… unless he’s scored a plea deal.

I hope he doesn’t get a plea deal. IMO this is one of the most horrific hot car deaths imaginable. Totally preventable made even worse by a parent who knew Chris had a long history of driving while impaired and leaving the kids in the car in Arizona heat.

IMO neither parent deserves any consideration, not by the court and not by the community. JMO

Same. And now it’s showing up for tomorrow.

A Donald Hearing according to Google AI is:

In Arizona criminal cases, a "Donald hearing" is a court proceeding where the judge informs the defendant about the terms of a plea bargain (if one exists) and the potential consequences of rejecting it and proceeding to trial, ensuring the defendant makes an informed decision.

Uh oh.

I have a feeling that putting it on the site makes it crash, from all the traffic.

Wouldn't surprise me if the defendant just let it string out. Why take a plea that has mandatory jail? May as well stay free for as long as possible. He can string it out until the day of trial.

There was someone else who did that recently, it was the "Cesspool Socialite". Almost to the day of trial, she finally took the plea.

I hate to say it but there’s always a possibility that a plea could reduce the charge to something like involuntary manslaughter with a suspended sentence and community service. Or something like an 18 month jail sentence. Chris is facing first degree murder so he may realize how poorly he’d do at trial and so will take whatever lesser sentence is thrown his way.

Hopefully the DA wouldn’t fold that much but I don’t trust the judge to hand down justice for Parker. JMO

The KVOA website (Tucson tv station) says Scholtes just rejected the plea deal. We’re going to trial, friends, and this will not turn out well for him

Welcome to Websleuths and thank you for finding the news! I guess Chris’ plea deal wasn’t attractive enough. Good. From KVOA:

The trial is set for October 27, 2025.

Mark your calendars folks.

I can't open the link in the UK, can someone please summarise what the plea deal was that he rejected?

can't quote it because of copywrite rules. it is only two sentences long and just says he rejected plea deal. no other information provided except trial date that was set.

I am searching for any sort of acceptable link that might describe just what he rejected.
