I don't think a Phone call from the NFI could be considered casual, I think as those offices are open 24-7 it must have been apparent days ago the jaw bone was not Natalee's. They may have provided that information to Aruba before the paperwork arrived, which I believe is why they called off the presser, they already knew it wasn't her.

Of course now there is a whole new set of issues for Aruba now that there is more than one person that has to be accounted for.

Did you hear about the camera that traveled from Aruba to Florida? A bone found in Aruba could have originated in any number of places.

Maybe forensic anaylsts protocols in the US are different than other countries, and it is sufficient to make a comparison between a bone and to missing person for forensic analysts to ask parents or FBI if a missing person has had their wisdom teeth removed. Maybe in the US, forensic analysts issue opinions without examing dental records and other authentic documents. Apparently, that is not how it is done in the Netherlands.

If labs were to release opinions without examining documents, the credibility would quickly come into question.[/quote]

100% accurate. My associates live in this world 24-7 365.24 days a year.

here is the press release, it doesn't say anything about not receiving any records until Friday evening.

Press Release: Bone material not of Natalee Holloway
November 23rd, 2010

At the request of the Aruban Public Prosecutor’s Office the Netherlands Forensic Institute has conducted forensic anthropological and DNA investigations on bone material, a piece of jawbone with a tooth. These investigations were executed simultaneously. Detailed examination by the NFI excludes the possibility that the bone material found in Aruba is that of Natalee Holloway.

Exclusion after comparing dental records

It was, first, necessary to establish that the bone material was in fact human material. This is the case. Thus the forensic anthropological investigation was expanded to include an investigation by forensic odontologists. Using the dental records of Natalee Holloway, such as the location of wisdom teeth and fillings, a comparison was made with the jaw bone recovered on Aruba. Based on these comparisons it could be excluded that the investigated bone material and molar came from Natalee Holloway.

DNA testing

Along with the forensic anthropological and odontological research, the NFI initiated a forensic DNA investigation. However, only a very small amount of DNA material was present and that was also of low quality. The bone appeared to have been exposed to various (weather) influences and proved to be porous. DNA researchers at the NFI therefore have applied extensive and highly sophisticated techniques to the DNA present in the bone to be examined.

On the basis of the comparison of the dental records the possibility that the bone material came from Natalee Holloway was excluded, therefore further DNA testing has been stopped. There is still a possibility that the molar from the jawbone could be used for further efforts to generate a DNA profile. However this follow-up study of said molar would inhibit future research into identifying the person from whom the bone originates.

Given that, based on dental records, it can be ruled out that the bone fragment came from Natalee Holloway, the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Aruba has decided not yet to carry out further research on the material. The prosecution will decide what further action will be taken to identify the bone material.

Natalee Holloway Investigation

The Office of the Public Prosecutor in Aruba has been involved in an investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway since her dissapearance. The case retains the constant attention from law enforcement on the island.

There is no information in that report about when the dental records were received by the NFI.

I know, that's what I said. You said it was in the press release, that is the press release that I posted and there's nothing in it that said they received the records Friday evening.

1. This is true however probabilities are it is local.

2. Forensic documentation of all kinds is exchanged via the internet in moments, it isn't required to wait any appreciable length of time, especially for institutions with resources such as these.

3. The US has some of the best forensic analysts in the world as does the UK, EU and many other very reputable labs in countries worldwide including but not restricted to the Netherlands.

The piece of jawbone found on a beach on Aruba this month is human, but is not that of long-missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, Aruban prosecutors said Tuesday.

The piece contained a wisdom tooth, and Holloway's had been removed before her 2005 disappearance, Aruba Solicitor-General Taco Stein told reporters.

"Right there and then, it was obvious it wasn't Natalee," Stein said.

That is how a frustrated world is going to see it given everything
else that has happened.

At the root of this Joran and the Kalpoes took Aruba and
the Dutch government hostage, while terrorising everyone else!
And the Arubans and the Dutch have yet to figure out how to get
out of it, at the expense of the Holloways, the Aruban image sullied,
and everyone else in doubt and angry . Now there is Stephany.

The Trojan War started over less . . . !

Heyya JW.

I pray he's only kilked twice.
JVS is a maniac.

I'm not sure if I should feel happy or sad about this outcome. Sad that Natalee's family still doesn't have closure or happy that this means she could possibly be out there alive somewhere and still be rescued. I do think it was a ridiculously long amount of time for them to figure out it wasn't her jawbone, though.

MOO

"Beth accepts the forensic conclusions, is emotionally exhausted from the inexplicably long wait, and deeply disappointed in the time and manner in which she learned of the results. Apparently Aruban prosecutors were more sensitive to media concerns than the painful vigil of a mother."

i really thought it was her. they should test to see if its amy bradley for sure. i dunno though that bone could have came from anywhere, but why plaster it all over the news?? just shameful.

  • #1,233
I didn't think this would end up being Natalie. I did however hold a small bit of hope that we would all be surprised and Beth would finally have the answers she seeks.

:(

I thought this was a longshot but I was hopeful for Natalie's family's sake.

MOO Her body will never be found. Joran will never be prosecuted for her murder. All we can hope for at this point is for him to be nailed by the court for his other murder.

bolded by me..

I agree 100% with what you posted....

IMO...Yes...The odds are very very slim...that Natalie's body/remains...may NEVER be found...and therefore Joran will never be punished for his crime on her....

BUT....we have Joran in prison...awating sentencing/trial for murder of another girl..which IMO..he will be found GUILTY..

The odds are very very good....Joran WILL be punished/guilty of murder...and ordered to live in a LIVING HELL...in a Peruvian prison...and most likely...meet his death..there

So in the end....Joran will PAY...IMO....

ETA...IMO....His being jailed in a Peruvian prison..is more severe..than being jailed/prison in Aruba..if he had been found guilty of Natalie's death..Aruba authority/Joran's father/Joran were friends..and would "coddle" Joran in Aruba prison..then release him.."early" (for good behavior)
His being in Peru...satisfies me...He will get his.......

This discovery of another white, female dead on Divi Beach makes me so uncomfortable!

I've done tremendous research about Natalee, Aruba, locations...And this hotel was one of them!

While in Aruba, this hotel caught my ATTENTION as I passed by.

I do not want to relive all this...But, If Natalee wasn't been found...She must be alive. A theory I hold truth to this day.

Beatrice, I honestly don't believe Natalee is alive. Just because she has not been found doesn't mean that the only other alternative is that she is alive.

I appreciate your opinion~

IMO...If there is no evidence of death then it didn't occur.

I also have knowledge of possibilities she is alive.
That's all I can say right now~

Now is the time for the Satish and Deepak, the Kalpoe brothers, to come forward what they know. :praying:

Please Satish and Deepak, please tell what you know. Please give Beth and Dave some closure.

Seriously...what Joran has done to Natalie & her family is horrible but, what the Kalpoe brothers have done is almost worse.

I have no doubt they know what happened to Natalie that night and instead of standing up like two grown (remorseful or compassionate) young men and give Natalies family closure, they continue to stand just as cowardly as Joran.

Little do they realize now, the karma that surely will be awaiting them one day...:furious:
