I would hope they would given the fact that at 6:30 at night they were not sure she had drowned.
I'd still like to know where GG was for that 18 minutes. And why did he "run" to the restaurant when the car was right there. So, he's running to the restaurant, no cell phone and no car and he's missing from a camera's view for 18 minutes. That's a long time. jmo

They were called at 6:32
Don't know how long it took them to respond

As you said, they may have been looking for someone alive, different equipment, a simple LE helicopter may have spotted her

Quite different if looking for a body on the bottom

I am not going to start guessing about what GG was doing
I have absolutely no clue

Funny, too, that the helicopter spotted the turtle and sharks but no one snorkeling around the time they were suppose to be in the water. I think they would have noticed people in the water because of the sharks. If the helicopters were already in the air I don't see why they wouldn't have done a search.

I remember when they were searching for Natalie there were helicopters all over the place. I believe those helicopters were black so they may have been the S & R. They had the Aruban helicopter at that time, too, the blue one but these helicopters were different and they were searching both the water and the land areas. jmo

Also, it seems that the Warda nos costa deploys from Curacoa?

DCCG has 3 Coast Guard support centers: on Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten. From here, the Coast Guard patrol boats patrol in the waters around the islands. The flying units of the Coast Guard are stationed at the Hato military airbase in Curaçao. The Coast Guard Center / RCC itself is located in Curaçao, the naval base Parera.

AS355DCCG employs a Eurocopter AS355 helicopter for high speed chase, and search and rescue operations. The AS-355 helicopter is stationed at Hato Coast Guard Support Center. On october 14th 2011 the dutch mod announced that the AS355's will be replaced by 2 new AW-139 helicopters by october 2012.

They have their own Helicopters in Aruba as well as a few years ago Rudy Croes bought a few Helicopters when he was in charge of Warda Nos Costa..The Mansurs also furnished a couple of boats and founded the Aruba Search and Rescue at about the same time period..

Sorry I dont have better information about the Helicopters at the moment.

Perhaps you need to go back and look

I will find the link tomorrow
Its been a long day

The article says "about the same time"

But what time would that be?
Four o'clock, six o'clock?

There is a two hour window between her being last seen and her being reported missing

The source also said that helicopters spotted two sharks and a giant sea turtle in the area about the same time that Gardner vanished.

I am aware that LE has a helicopter, painted as the one above
It flies along the coastline several times a day

Yeh that was probably not the best proof but the Warda Nos Costa does have them..I can't recall at the moment but I think they are dark blue. Every once in a while you will see them in the papers when they make the news.

Those may have been the ones I saw when Natalie disappeared. I thought they were black but they could have been dark blue. I know they weren't light blue. jmo

I think the 18 minutes in question has been adressed in earlier posts. Seems that there was a problem with the time stamps or something, and it was much less then 18 minutes.

I have looked for those posts and cannot find them, does anyone know who posted that correction, and where we might find it? TIA.

The time from the video was addressed before but I'm not sure about the MSM link. This is from niner's timeline:

6:15pm (time seen on video) - GG knocking on several back doors.

6:16pm – (video) GG walking up the stairs.

6:16pm – (video) GG walking along the bar.

6:17pm - (video) GG walking the bar area; then walking around to the back (no footage).

6:20pm - GG reportedly headed to the back kitchen of the bar and told someone to call police. Three witnesses, two women and a man, told police that Giordano approached them on Aug. 2, saying, "Can you help me? We were snorkeling and my girlfriend is missing," she told police. One woman told police that while Giordano's sneakers were wet, his shorts were not. When Giordano reported Gardner missing, he seemed extremely drunk, a local fisherman, Sergio Silva, told ABC News, although Giordano told police that the two never purchased alcohol at the restaurant.

6:23pm - 911 received notification of a possible drowning of a woman. The traveling companion of this woman, a man G.V.G. stated that they were going snorkeling behind Nanki Country Club.

At 6:23 pm on the day of her disappearance, police were called, and 20 minutes later began to search the area. Then, Giordano left the search to return to his hotel and take a nap, according to police. Disclaimer: This claim, at 6.40 GG went for a nap, not true, there are various pics of GG helping the police in the dark, pics where it is completely dark, it takes till 7:30 for it to get dark, so GG was not taking a nap at 6:40, he still was working with the police at least at 7:30.

So there's a discrepancy in the first time GG is seen, 6:02 versus 6:15. That's a considerable difference.

Ok, I actually remembered to post this link in the media and photo thread, something I have to admit I've been very remiss about doing.

Thank you , Neesaki. I knew that Timline was questioned before and explained. I cannot tell you how many posts I looked through.

One other strange bit of information was the last picture taken of Robyn Gardner at the Rum Reef before she dissapeared. According to Martin Savidge (the reporter)the sister of one of the employees took the picture because she admired Robyn's tattoos.Strange thing is the pics were taken of Robyns other side of her body where she has no tattoos.

Mr Fang owns both the dive shop and the cafe and that is interesting that the article posted by Dushi says that he is the last person to have seen RG and GG.

This is all strange to me as well. It seems that the Rum Reef is at the center of whatever was going on with GG and Robyn those two days.

They go to the Rum Reef the first day, just long enough to allow themselves to be caught on video surveillance. Robyn is wearing her favorite dress.

They return to the Rum Reef the second day, at the same time of day, and are again shown on video surveillance, with Robyn wearing the same dress as the day before.

This second day, they go in and eat a meal, during which GG jumps up and announces aloud, their name and where they are from, as though to confirm who they are to someone there at the Rum Reef. :waitasec: Strange, indeed.

The photo was allegedly taken, as you say, because this person liked Robyn's tattoos, yet the photo is not of her tattoos. I have to wonder what this person really wanted this photo for. And I sadly doubt that ALE bothered to examine the phone used to take this photo, to see if perhaps the photo may have been sent to someone else. jmo
