The "fisherman"--do we know he is a credable witness ?
After swiming for over an "hour" is "all of a sudden"?

There were so many "witness accounts" that were reported and debunked, do we really know what accounts can be used for comparison to GG's account. I mean the NE actually went so far as to recreate the " Lobby fight" that had GG threatening to kill RG and shoving her into the elevator. What about the couple who saw her being attacked in the white SUV, the witness who saw her being buried alive, the nap GG supposedly took while they were searching for Robyn, and on and on. Who says the fisherman is to be believed.
I just find it hard to acuse GG of being caught in account discrepancies, when we do not know what accounts to use as the basis for those discrepancies. Even Taco Stein when asked stated he lied--about the weather and the currents. These are subject to interpretation not lies?

But the fact remains that, according to ALE and witness accounts, there are more negative accounts of GG's actions and behaviors than there are positives. He has yet to counter them with any facts otherwise, at least not in any believable fashion. In fact, he tends to shed a worse light on himself with his outlandish, foolish behavior and obvious lies. He is thus and still the prime suspect in the case.

The question remains: What happened to Robyn Gardner, GG? GG is the one with the answers , though he has yet to provide an answer with even an inkling of honesty or veracity.

We have all acknowledged that there are a few reports that have not been substantiated, those by NE, and a couple others. But beyond that, there are some that are by all reports credible, so what is the point of trying to bring discredit to these credible witnesses?

It seems to me they bought a lot of vodka for on three full days vacation. They could not bring it back so they would have to drink it or toss it. jmo

Yes, and wasn't it said Robyn had taken Ambien earlier in the day she disappeared? The combination of Ambien and vodka would certainly make one impaired, IMO.

Good point. So no matter how responsibly GG thought he was drinking and in control obviously RG was not and as a full grown adult he should have realized RG was in no shape to snorkel, if this is what happened. It is easy to fall asleep on a raft in the water without the vodka and Ambien much less with it. It's asking for trouble. Plus the fact that server mentioned she seemed whoozie. Big red flag there. He can't say he did not notice. jmo

I believe the fishman gave his statement to LE right away. LE was looking for witnesses. Just because his story differs from GG's does not mean he is lying. They were walking close to where he was fishing so IMO they drew his attention because most tourist are on the other side of the cove. I'd be giving LE a statement, too, if what I witnessed did not match up with the story coming out of GG's mouth. jmo

She took ambien earlier in the day??? Was she going to sleep and would you please provide a link?

Ok I found a link that says she had ambien in her hotel room, as do I when I travel - and that GG said she took one that day LOL. If one has a prescription for ambien it is used for sleep. She's not a teenager stupid enough to drink and thin ambien will get her high...it's a sleeping pill and he's a liar. If I have ONE glass of wine and take a 12 mg ambien, lights are out in 15 minutes. Someone will say, "yabut, Tiger Woods had ambien in his system" - Tiger Woods took his at night as well and was probably not planning on being chased by his wife out of the driveway.

GG and JB are a perfect pair - no doubt they will be friends through eternity.

I don't think the fishman had anything to gain by lying. What would be the incentive. He lives there. Lying to police would be the same in Aruba as it is here. It's not as if he had taken out a $1.5 million dollar life insurance policy on RG and had something to gain.

Investigator's are responsible for gathering facts not interpretations because that is what has to be brought before the judge. I think the weather report, the tracking of the currents for that day were facts that Mr. Stein used to discredit the statement GG gave about the weather.

GG has now changed his story to the water not being rough as much as he, personally, was having trouble getting weighed down after an hour of swimming in the water in his sneakers. Heavy sneakers filling with water should have been a problem the first three minutes into the water. He felt he was in trouble because of the sneakers but never took them off. He apparently was willing to die to save his darn sneakers but RG....not so much. It's just another inconsistency in his stories.

Somewhere in a LE department there is a chalkboard with all his inconsistencies listed on that board. I'm sure of it. lol jmo

Ambien is used to get high
I am not saying Robyn used it for that purpose, but many do.

Nonmedical use of zolpidem is increasingly common in U.S.A, Canada, and the UK. Street names for the drug include Abee'ss, Amee's, and Amb'zz. Recreational users report that "fighting" the hypnotic effects of the drug while forcing themselves to stay awake can cause vivid visuals and a body high.[57] Some users have reported decreased anxiety, mild euphoria, perceptual changes, visual distortions, and hallucinations.[58]

I don't have any reason to doubt the fisherman
What would he gain by lying?

On Wednesday, Giordano appeared to suggest during an exclusive ABC News’ interview that Robyn Gardner may have been kidnapped as part of a human trafficking crime.

“What you don’t know about Aruba is Aruba has two main sources of income and it’s not tourism. It’s cocaine and human trafficking,” Giordano said. “And where we were it takes a half hour to drive a boat to Venezuela… and it turns out that where we were, the beach, that’s where they drop off illegals to swim to shore.”

I think he is clearly suggesting that he now thinks Robyn could have been kidnapped. he is changing his story IMO
There is no ther way I can read it

Recreational Ambien Use
Ambien has become increasingly popular among recreational drug users because resisting the sedative effects of Ambien produces visual illusions and a euphoria or “high.” Abusing Ambien in this manner is dangerous and may lead to partial amnesia. Those who stay awake after a dose of Ambien may perform uninhibited actions that they cannot recall. Therefore, Ambien should only be used if there are seven to eight hours reserved for sleep immediately following Ambien use. Recreational Ambien use is also often combined with other recreational substance use. This increases the dangers associated with Ambien use.

You do remember that the witnesses in the restaurant and on the beach claimed that in Robyn and GG were intoxicated. In the restaurant, Robyn seemed "woozy" and on the beach GG was so drunk that LE had to wait for him to sober up to question him. This, to me, sounds like an outright contradiction to GG's claim that they were "sober"?

I already explained how I felt about GG's sober claim.
People tend to deny the amount of alcohol they haven taken in, people in every day life, not being murder suspects do it all the time.
GG doing so to me is no indication that he a sociopath or a murderer.

There have not been reports from ALE that GG was intoxicated, there was no need to rely on witnesses for this since they met with Giordano on the spot.

It is Fisherman Silva who claims Giordano was so drunk he could not sit up straight, while we saw Giordano on camera walking, not stumbling and slipping or crawling over the pavement.

It was only a few days ago that I read a post about him being drunk and LE sending him for a nap
I had not read that anywhere til then

It is obvious from photos that he was still on the beach after dark with LE

From timeline

At 6:23 pm on the day of her disappearance, police were called, and 20 minutes later began to search the area. Then, Giordano left the search to return to his hotel and take a nap, according to police. Disclaimer: This claim, at 6.40 GG went for a nap, not true, there are various pics of GG helping the police in the dark, pics where it is completely dark, it takes till 7:30 for it to get dark, so GG was not taking a nap at 6:40, he still was working with the police at least at 7:30.

We don't have reports because they will not be released by Aruba because the investigation is still ongoing, same as the US.

But wasn't it a comment made by LE by reporters when asked what happened, that GG appeared to be drunk and they would have to wait until morning to question him. So was he pretending to be drunk so he would not have to ask those questions. At the time they made the statement because there was no indication to them there was a crime, only a simple drowning. So to speculate now that the fishman had some type of motive to lie would not make sense. To him the poor woman may have drowned and he was giving a statement as to what he had seen.

People exceeding their alcohol limit get into cars and drive home everyday and yet they are legally drunk and rarely get caught. You do not have to be falling down. GG, himself claims that he was drinking moderately but LE seemed to feel he was intoxicated. LE are trained observers on a party island so why would we not trust what they are saying.

Once a person lies they lose all credibility and that is the way it should be, not well he had some inconsistencies but that does not make him a criminal. If you can't tell the truth then you have something to hide which is probably something of the criminal nature. It is that simple. You hide things so as not to get into trouble. Something we all learned as children, IMO.

GG has already admitted to drinking. He has admitted to RG drinking and taking sleeping pills. If she were whoosie in the bar, what was she like in the water? Either it was an accidential drowning and he was too drunk to realize what they were doing was very dangerous, or he is irresponsible. He claims he was not drunk so that leaves irreponsible, if not worse.

Added to that if she were drinking and had taken sleeping pills she never would have gotten into that water and out far enough without hurting herself. Something GG was not able to account for because he never went into the water initially. This is why he was wearing the sneakers and apparently it appears he only was able to go far enough just to get his sneakers and socks wet. This is why he said to RG's mother, "I got my sneakers and socks wet searching for your daughter." That is a damning statement for him to make. jmo

He did? When and where?

Gary Giordano, 50, of Gaithersburg, Md., told NBC’s Josh Mankiewicz he and his companion, 35-year-old Robyn Gardner, of Frederick, were snorkeling Aug. 2 when he realized they were getting in deeper water. He said he grabbed Gardner's leg to signal returning to shore, but getting back was a struggle because of winds and current. It was the last time he saw Gardner.

“It was a very calm day,” Aruban Solicitor General Taco Stein contends. “No current. No waves.”

What fisherman said he saw gary drunk? Are there two fishermen?

The fisherman claims the pair never went into the ocean and that after they drove off, he did not see them for the rest of the day.

Not sure if there are two fisherman.

A fisherman in Aruba says he saw the man suspected of Robyn Gardner's disappearance driving erratically and appearing to be drunk on the day the American tourist vanished.

Sergio Silva told ABC's "Good Morning America" that he saw Gardner and Gary Giordano leaving the Rum Reef Bar & Grill in a rental car on Aug. 2, driving "in the wrong direction."

Later that evening, Silva says Giordano looked like he was drunk while he was speaking with police on the beach during the initial search for the missing tourist.

"Cops were all over him, trying to talk to him, and he would just mumble -- nobody could understand what he was saying," the eyewitness told "Good Morning America."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/26/robyn-gardner-fisherman_n_938285.html

After eating lunch, the two were spotted by a fisherman walking around a reef behind the restaurant before getting into a car.

'Police believe Giordano drove Robyn to a nearby area called Seroe Colorado, and either strangled, beat her or tortured her to death after he dragged her into one of 50 abandoned shacks that used to house workers from a once-bustling oil refinery,' the source added.

Later in the afternoon, Giordano returned to the restaurant where they ate lunch and reported her missing, saying they had just been snorkelling.

<snip>

As the 50-year-old is held for another day, his story regarding what happened the day Robyn disappeared is being cast into doubt as another witness said he saw the pair walking along the jetty when they were supposed to be snorkelling.

He claims they then drove off in a white rental car shortly after 4pm.

The fisherman claims the pair never went into the ocean and that after they drove off, he did not see them for the rest of the day.

I bet that was all an act, the drunk act. The best thing he could do while being questioned was to pretend you could not answer any questions. Then it would make the searchers believe that the missing woman was drunk too. So no need to question the story at all. Just another drunk tourist drowning due to irresponsible actions.
