5th Amendment ?
Aruba has such a law ?
The majority of the planet called earth has a right to plead this 5th Amendment ?
And the public has a right to know the truth, not truth as put out by the media in order to boost their ratings.
Or to inflame people via the WWW in order to solicit a pack driven instinct to convict irrespective of lack of evidence to do so.
Okay, not sure you are getting the point I was trying to make, same as with NG. Not talking about the 5th just used it as an example that they are rights we as Americans are entitled to. Now, the truth is the truth whether the media put it out to boost their ratings or they are just reporting the news. So not sure what you were trying to say here but as far as inflaming people in order to solicit packs. There are no pitchfork driven packs out there. We're all pretty much grown ups here and can make a fairly reasonable assessments of what we are reading to determine what is truth and what is a lie. It's not a hard process to figure out if someone is telling you the truth. That is all it boils down to.
People become enraged because of the facts of a crime. No one should get a get out of jail free card because they feel the media was not kind enough to them. People have a right to know what happened and more importantly why. Sometimes the why is more important than what has happened. But the public still has the right to know and if it hurt the offenders feelings, well that's just too bad. Maybe it will keep them out of trouble next time.
The only thing a defendant is entitled to is a fair trial and obviously the system seems to be working. GG is not on trial but he made the decision to go on national tv claim he would not go through the whole story and then proceeded to give details which in some accounts different from what he first reported. He has no one to blame but himself for not keeping his mouth shut. Had he picked another attorney to represent him I would guess he would never have appeared and we would have less to discuss. jmo
