5th Amendment ?

Aruba has such a law ?

The majority of the planet called earth has a right to plead this 5th Amendment ?

And the public has a right to know the truth, not truth as put out by the media in order to boost their ratings.

Or to inflame people via the WWW in order to solicit a pack driven instinct to convict irrespective of lack of evidence to do so.

Okay, not sure you are getting the point I was trying to make, same as with NG. Not talking about the 5th just used it as an example that they are rights we as Americans are entitled to. Now, the truth is the truth whether the media put it out to boost their ratings or they are just reporting the news. So not sure what you were trying to say here but as far as inflaming people in order to solicit packs. There are no pitchfork driven packs out there. We're all pretty much grown ups here and can make a fairly reasonable assessments of what we are reading to determine what is truth and what is a lie. It's not a hard process to figure out if someone is telling you the truth. That is all it boils down to.

People become enraged because of the facts of a crime. No one should get a get out of jail free card because they feel the media was not kind enough to them. People have a right to know what happened and more importantly why. Sometimes the why is more important than what has happened. But the public still has the right to know and if it hurt the offenders feelings, well that's just too bad. Maybe it will keep them out of trouble next time.

The only thing a defendant is entitled to is a fair trial and obviously the system seems to be working. GG is not on trial but he made the decision to go on national tv claim he would not go through the whole story and then proceeded to give details which in some accounts different from what he first reported. He has no one to blame but himself for not keeping his mouth shut. Had he picked another attorney to represent him I would guess he would never have appeared and we would have less to discuss. jmo

Could be, but then I don't think she would come to his defense, ynwim?

Maybe he has photos of her she doesn't want others to see. Blackmail? JMO

I am very much getting the points you have been trying to make, I just happen to not agree with them.

With regard to pitchfork driven packs out there, clearly we are not on the same page as this mindset has been prevalent in many cases including this one, one has only to read forums, blogs and social networking sites to observe how these mobs go about stirring up the masses.
And this includes what I refer to as both sides.

I do not think to bring these crazed driven posts across here would be appreciated by the Mods and Admin here, so I will refrain doing so, but it is definately out there and plenty of it.

But its Christmas time and you and I will never be ad idem on these subjects so I will just say that we agree to disagree and seasonal greetings to you.

You know, LolliPop, I think it is normal for people to vent and doing so on a forum, blog, social networking is a healthy outlet. As far as packs, there are none and IMO only someone who has something to gain would tell the media that they exist. Normal people have enough common sense not to react other than verbally. That's all it is. It's venting about victums who never deserved to die at the hands of an irresponsible person.

I find it strange that some defendants complain they feel victumized when they themselves have no problem victumizing others.....and then demand that they should be treated differently.

This is a forum that supports crime victums and the main interest is getting to the truth for the sake of the victums, not to support a suspect. If while sleuthing we discover evidence, or speculate about something that helps the suspect, all the better because the intent here is always to get to the truth. Allowing people to vent gets it out of the way and allows them to think clearly and consider all options.

The media is part of that truth seeking process. In those cases where the suspect's attorney has not made statements, kept their client out of the media spotlight and requested a gag order be put in place, they have gotten very little media attention because there is nothing to discuss. Those attorneys who become boastful and entertain media contracts to support their own endeavors bring nothing but bad attention to their client. This is quite obvious to us all.

I have seen some of the blogging outside of this forum and I have to agree with you some of the postings are terrible. But they are just venting, because they can.....they have no identity and feel they can say whatever they want. I don't read them because they do upset me at the mentality of some people but they are just venting, that is all it is. Here, sometimes it's vent, sleuth, vent, sleuth and on and on until we find an answer we can live with. Knowing you have uncovered the truth is healthy. jmo

Didn't this woman disappear after this interview?

What do you mean she disappeared? Do you mean she no longer will do interviews????

As it relates to self incrimination and the right to remain silent, yeah.

Many legal systems in the world, yes (see above)

Well the pacts, if there are any, on the www are not the jury and cases are not won or lost based on instinct. I don't know which pacts you are referring to, but sometimes it is what it is, total disgust and hatred of certain people who feel justice was not found - and they will never give up.

Does anyone know if RG had breast implants??? If she did they could end up getting washed ashore. jmo

Could be - it's been mentioned here before - and he was into photography.

Look, he told these women he was a photographer - so why did he lie to them? Why did he want their pictures? They were going somewhere. He had video surveillance all over his house. Just saying.

You obviously have not been at the receiving end of these so-called harmless venters or else you would not be making such statements.

I don't understand the part you threw in concerning supporting a suspect, other than to assume its a loaded statement.

But as I said prior, you and I are not on the same page and its unlikely we ever will be so I agree to disagree with you.

<snip>

The majority of the older and more effective legal systems throughout the world do not use what Americans call "pleading the 5th".

In essence it may appear similiar but the mechanics and reality of it is quite different.

And I am not going to debate legalities and why the older and more stable systems are superior to a system that relies largely upon emotion and how a specific judge may feel at a specific moment in time.

You and I are definately not in the same book nevermind the same page.

But I accept your opinion even though in this case, where its in response to my posts and not on the same page.

That could be because I have worked in the legal field and I feel it's the best we have, much better than other countries. Some improvements are needed, I'll agree to that. It's very expense to try a person today so I'm sure if the US is considering going after GG they want to make sure they have all their ducks in a row.

Different views are productive and sometimes help the suspect's cause. <modsnip> In this case GG has made his case worse by coming forward with his explanation of what happened. Truth is always easier to remember. lol jmo

I had read that the FBI was in GG's home taking a variety of items out of the house, including a computer, I believe, after he was arrested in Aruba. If he were sending pictures over the internet wouldn't there be a way to find them even if he did delete some files. I wonder how many women who have dated him in the past have pictures out there they aren't even aware of??? jmo

Yeah, they'd be there - Kim Commando says the only way to really delete files is a sledge hammer to the hard drive lol. If he did have pictures of women on his computer, and they were consenting adults, it wouldn't matter - but if was selling them....whole different story, as you know.

I'll tell you something I wonder that is disgusting, but that's how my mind rolls - did he take pictures of Robyn while she was drugged...or even dead? Why would any woman in her right mind allow the type of pictures that were (not) described found on his camera? Not in this day and age...I just don't see it. There would be no way to tell, if her face was not in them, whether she was either drugged or dead.

There are ways to completely zero data from a hard drive.

Most lay people call low level formatting and/or partition deletion a complete zeroing which is not the case.

Even sectors that have been zeroed and new data overwritten on top will not erase this data.

But one must not get confused with the difference between cacheing of pics and/or data sent over the WWW, be that in any form and data residue on a HD.

These are completely 2 different things completely.

In short, anything sent over the WWW, be that e-mail or any other means, will forever be there in some form.

A HD that has been completely physically destroyed will be the only way that data could not be retrieved in some form, which incidently may be retrieved but not accessed.

What do you mean she disappeared? Do you mean she no longer will do interviews????

This is the woman that just fell off the face of the map after this one interview, if I remember correctly. There was speculation she was either just a fraud or someone doing GG's bidding for reasons unknown to us. I could be wrong but I think she's the one, nothing more was heard from her and no more interviews. Jmo

And removing or deleting cookies and temporary files merely removes that data from hidden folders, this does not remove them completely.
This is a basic clearing function that is very basic.

Those files are still accessible.

Well if she were in the habit of taking a sleeping pill at night she may have slept through the whole thing. GG may have had hopes of selling the pictures online after returning home alone. Obviously if she were awake in the pictures she consented to them.

And if his business isn't going well it would be interesting to know where he is getting all this money for vacations and cruises. In the NG interview Nicole claims she went on a cruise again a few months after meeting him and then did two more with the two of them alone. RG was the perfect victum with the drinking and bringing sleeping pills with her, plus her trusting nature.

This woman, Nicole on NG, may have been more diligent and harder to catch off balance. If he had taken a policy out on her she would never know if she didn't sign it. Funny but didn't he claim in one of his interviews that it was normal for him to so when he was traveling with others. So had he taken a policy out on this lady without her knowledge. If the NG program aired in August and Nicole later found out he had taken a policy out on her that may be why we have not heard from her.

Think about it. GG asks this woman to take 3 more cruises with him, 2 more by themselves, he asks Robyn to go on a cruise in July and she backs out only to go in August to Aruba and RG ends up not coming back. That is a lot of trips. jmo

Snipped by me:

Plus we are completely dependent on the media, good or bad, for our information and what few facts we have access to.
