Yes, activity in her bank accounts (especially withdrawals) is relevant. Presumably she had a bank account that she used and wasn't operating entirely in cash? I don't think whether she was on welfare or not is.



The tax free threshold was increased to $18,200 in 2012-13 financial year. It was only $6000 when Karlie was alive. So I guess that makes it more likely that any legitimate employer would have kept proper records of their dealings with her.

I guess the thing is, I think working out where she was working is useful. Finding out if she had some kind of relationship is useful. Nitpicking what payments she was getting or if she was getting them at all... I don't see how useful that is. A bit distasteful. I've done it myself, I'm not just criticising others. I think it's a red herring, just like suitcase man. Karlie seemed like she didn't want to be that stereotype of the single mum that just sits around collecting welfare. She actually wanted to get up and do something for herself and her daughter. Maybe she was getting some government help along the way - if so, it didn't help anyone track her down at all.

Well in actual fact I think it just did help police a hell of a lot. Bring on the arrests

I never saw that footage . I did see a picture of a woman walking into centrelink. That looked like cctv . That was on channel 9

They haven't put it up in their news video's or anywhere, I think if it was the 'actual' footage Ch 9 wouldn't have been the only ones to show it and it seems they were. NBN and Ch 9 - same thing.

My god. I can't believe how this case is turning out. What incredibly sick individuals who did this. Killing people is horrible enough but to impersonate Karli to her family and to the government is just on another level. I'm just glad they have finally found out this girl's identity, as well as her mothers. I thought it would be another unsolved mystery.

The only good I can think of is that the SA and NSW police have been making incredible progress and the individuals will be brought to justice. Makes me incredibly proud.

RIP Karli and Khandalyce.

Why would there be bank account activity showing going back to the Northern Territory twice? Between Adelaide and Alice Springs is around 1300kms. The second time was on 7 January 2009. Haven't the police said they think she had already been murdered by this time? So what's the connection? Why back to the Norther Territory?

I can't stop thinking about the poor family, having some one pretend to be Karlie, giving that person money thinking she was Karlie. So awful. No wonder they never even thought of Angel being Karlie, setting aside the argument of whether or not the facial reconstruction looked like her--they were still "in contact" with "Karlie" at the time the body was found. Her poor mother, who died probably thinking that her daughter didn't want to see her again.

The release of this information is obviously calculated to put pressure on the perpetrators of this crime, hoping that one or more of them will crack and try to get a deal for themselves. It sounds like police already have an idea who these people are and are just tightening the net.

I can't find it either but I definitely saw it. It was on the news not in a press conference. It certainly didn't look like a reenactment. Odd that it can't be found now though.

The repeated transactions at the BP (now "On the Run") service station on Hampstead Rd are interesting, (as this is on a major truck route around Adelaide, heading north to Grand Junction Rd, and then out via Main North Rd or Wingfield Rd), however it is a more inner city petrol supermarket set up.
I know this service station and it is not set up for trucks to stop at. Also lots of CCTV .

Righto so we know that Karlie was in Adelaide and met a friend at a shopping centre there, was it around the 2nd of nov? Then it appears she was travelling north back towards alice springs - then inexpliciably decides to travel over to the ACT before christmas (and I think this is where and when she was murdered - dec 08) and then back to sa in the new year. in fact, in alice springs 7th of Jan!

I'm beginning to think it wasnt an opportunistic murder - someone/s knew Karlie and not just as a fleeting aquaintance.

I think it's very interesting that whoever had Karlie's bank card after her death travelled to her home town (Alice Springs) within the month following her death. Like Belanglo, Alice Springs isn't somewhere you just happen to end up. Driving all that way is a purposeful trip and, in my opinion, highly risky given it was her home town. To me it looks very likely that these people were known to Karlie and known to the town of Alice Springs. In what capacity I'm not sure.

FYI there are 25000 people living in Alice Springs according to Google.

Thought!! What if dumping those remains was a female form of revenge? Like what if a female dumped them after a breakup spilling her ex's secrets, but in a backhanded way that blew up more than she realized it would?

What if someone was being paid off to keep the suitcase hidden at their property and once the centrelink payments stopped so did the suitcase payments? Then the suitcase was dumped in clear view because the person holding onto it didn't care to hide it anymore.

'Activity' could be deposits as well as withdrawals.
