Can I ask, what is "bashing" in Aus? Here in the UK, it is a word that is used to describe maybe a damaged box, so quite tame, it wouldnt be used to describe a crime really.

I was wondering the same thing! "Bash" is more like comic book language over here, not a word you would see in newspapers. Like "bop". I guess we would say "beaten" or "bludgeoned" instead.

In terms of a crime, it basically means assault and bludgeoned. Like the phrase "bashing up" or "bashing someone" is common. Hopefully that makes sense.

We dont really say "bashing someone" here as such, or if we did it would be a minor, soft hit. Thanks for clarifying for me

So Karlies payments were cancelled in early 2011 by Centerlink and Des Bray also confirmed they were the last payments Karlies receive from Centerlink.
Her account was last used in March 2012. (12 months only)

I think the way it's written is making this statement confusing. What I think he means is that the suspected murderers continued to receive payments for two years between 2009 - 2011.

I'm not exactly sure what a payment affecting issue is though, could it be because the wage that got paid into this account around that time via the ABN made the recipient ineligible?

Maybe she didn't show up to a review appointment without contacting Centrelink. That's pretty much a suspension of payment. If the fraudsters/ murderers weren't receiving her mail they would have no way of knowing of any appointments as don't think Centrelink was accessible online then.

I first heard that term while watching big brother Australia, and this little blondie(brigite) got mad and said she was going to bash someone and I remember thinking "she is going to do what???" It it almost too cute of a way to say you are going to hit someone. But I use it all the time now, and in Texas, let me tell you it gets some weird looks!

I had a horrible thought and I haven't seen it posted here and honestly I don't want to post it but...

We're obviously dealing with some very sick perps here. Police said right off the mark that what happened to the child was horrific. I remember that we were speculating here at the time how they could reach that conclusion just from locating some bones. It was something we didn't want to think about too much, obviously. I'm worried that something evil was done to Khandalyce, in addition to her murder.

The business name that was set up was probably related to either Karlie or Khandalyce's initials. It's an odd name for a probably bogus business.

I'm worried that the business name was some sort of sick joke. I mean, I don't know what we're dealing with here.

Good morning all - I'm glad we have a name, even though it is totally different to the one we were throwing around last night! I don't know why, but the name Daniel Holdom is familiar to me.
