Just tightening the net to get all these low life.

Also, I believe the police KNOW exactly who is responsible. They are doing the press releases to put the pressure on, hoping one or more will crack and confess, and dob in the others for a deal. Hoping somebody will say "I was involved in the money side, but X was the one who killed them".
The police would be watching these people 24/7, so they can't do a runner.
These people WILL be arrested, and soon. MOO of course

It is my guess that they will all start turning on each other and blaming everyone but themselves individually. However this has been an 'enterprise' and many have conspired together criminally to the point of two separate murders, and as aforesaid, although street smart, I doubt there is much real intelligence involved. So the police will likely get every single one of them. Can't wait, but I think we will find that there is a lot more grief to come.

I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for them to turn on each other, they've managed to avoid information getting out and kept the secret for 7 years now.

IMO nothing has been leaked because they are very afraid of someone or something, they've seen or know what can happen. They've been involved too long, there is no way they can avoid the repercussions from either the law or whoever they are afraid of.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of those involved in this are no longer with us.

I too am thinking all may not be with us now.. It also occurred to me, if there are multiple persons involved and the amount of monies teansacted over a 3 year or so period is around 90 - 100,000; personally I believe that's not a great deal if the money has been divided up amongst them. Seems a lot of trouble to go to for that amount amongst multiple persons, unless this is the beginning of uncovering a bigger racket?

I was wondering whether the reason for wages to be placed into Karlie's account by a person would be due to having to attend a job placement centre every fortnight for the payments to continue. If Karlie showed she was working, she would not have to attend these meetings every fortnight and I guess as long as the payments of wages are showing in her account, even a small amount would keep the payments from Centrelink rolling in. Just one option....

There's no requirement for single parents to attend Centrelink, unless requested, such as the interview Karlie's impersonator attended. Single parents aren't required to work until their youngest child turns 6 years old. Even if they do work before that time, wages are reported via phone or online.

There is supposed to be data matching between all Federal (ie, ATO, Centrelink, Medicare) and some State (ie, Social Housing, Education, Health) government departments, but this is done by computers and only gives an indication that someone may need to be reviewed in person.

I was only thinking the very same thing last night. For some reason, I wondered if an older male in a family died and that's why they had to move house. Totally out of the ball park though, and absolutely nothing to based my thoughts on.

Yes, I agree with your first statement, sleep. Personally, I'd rather deal with the legal ramifications than the main suspect who's only in jail for 4 and 1/2 years. If the reason Karlie's bank account ceased being accessed in 2011; maybe that's the approximate time her and Khandalyce's suspected killer was arrested. Depending on how long it took from arrest to sentencing, I would say that person is due for release within the next 18 months to 2 years. Quite frankly, if I was an accessory after the fact, I'd rather plead guilty. I'd give evidence against the accused, risk taking a few years in jail, but ensuring they stayed there for life with no possibility of parole (and, thus, little possibility of taking retribution against me).

Secondly, they may be no longer with us. More than likely though, I think the main suspect's incarceration in another state might have been their saving grace. Now it's time for them to be grateful they were given a second chance and to prove their remorse by ensuring justice for Karlie and Khandalyce.

I would presume police are interviewing that 'bank employee' about the account discussion, and possibly some other accounts. Banks might develop a new framework for account identity.

I have no idea what was purchased at Rabbit Photo/Strandbags in Mt. Gambier on 17 November 2008. I speculated that Karlie or someone else may have purchased the Lanza suitcase from Strandbags, the same suitcase that the remains of Khandalyce were found in seven years later.

BBM: The last payments from Centrelink into Karlie's account were in 2011. Her bank card was last used in March 2012 at Charnwood Canberra. Karlie's bank account was finally closed in 2015 after a lengthy period of inactivity.

Wynarka murder update: Police raid suspects’ homes over Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce Pearce murders


POLICE have revealed they have raided the homes of several suspects in South Australia and Canberra as part of a nationwide investigation into the disappearance and murder of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce Pearce.

Detective Superintendent Des Bray, the SA Police head of Major Crime, today provided an update on the “complex and fast-paced investigation” into the horrific murders of the Alice Springs mother and daughter.

Detectives in five states and territories are involved in the inquiry.

Police have identified the vehicle being driven by Ms Pearce-Stevenson and say it was re-registered in New South Wales after her disappearance in late 2008.

Police now believe the pair were murdered in December, 2008.

The 1996 red or maroon VL Holden Commodore had been registered in the Northern Territory but was transferred to someone’s name in NSW after she vanished.

Detectives have spoken to the person who took ownership of the car and ruled that person out of the investigation but say it has led to several strong leads.

They are yet to locate the car.

“Homes in South Australia and Canberra have been searched — people associated with Karlie and Khandalyce in some way. Those searches have been extremely productive and have advanced the investigation,” Det Sup Bray said.

“We do have very strong lines of inquiry and there is every indication that friends and associates of Karlie and Khandalyce may provide crucial clues.

“We won’t talk about any particular suspect but I can tell you we are looking at more than one person.”

A man serving time in a NSW jail is understood to be one of the suspects.....

Being in gaol won't save you from these types of people, if they are the type I'm suggesting they have arms everywhere.

By saying that they are probably no longer with us - I didn't mean by way of jail or old age - I meant that they could have succumbed to the same fate as Karlie and Khandalyce.

I didn't think of that - I presumed the suitcase was the suitcase she originally brought with her from Alice.

Answering myself: there would have been a number of images from ATMs and surrounds and some of them may have been preserved.
