So, were Karlie's trips in Alice Springs possibly to visit this woman?

It says survivors were flown to Alice Springs.

I'm glad that at least she's talking.

No, according to an article at the following link, she was discharged quite quickly from Alice Springs hospital, probably because they flew her to a major city hospital with better facilities.

The killer or someone close to him or her then covered the body in a pile of clothes — maybe in an empty room, a cupboard or a shed. Then they left it for years — long enough to be reduced to a skeleton.

Then, probably early this year, something happened — something that prompted whoever had hidden the body to want to move it. The killer or an accomplice jammed the clothing and the skeleton into a suitcase and took it from the hiding place.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I've been reading over a lot of the old news articles on this case and it's becoming more apparent that maybe the police new a lot more about this case then i first thought, it's more obvious now because of the new information, but it wasn't back then. If you watch some of the old news videos, it seems like they're addressing someone. They could have done this deliberately so they could keep a close eye on certain POI's over the following weeks.

The 28 tutu dresses sold in south Australia could have been a major lead, especially if they had information on who bought all those 28 dresses and karlies name come up.

I also remember very early in the wynarka case they were in contact with the NT police

Is one of our Timeline gurus online? I'm thinking that a timeline refresher would be very helpful.

TIMELINE OF MURDER AND FRAUD

2006: Khandalyce Kiara Pearce born in Alice Springs to single mother Karlie Jade Pearce-Stevenson.

2008: Ms Pearce-Stevenson leaves family in Alice Springs and starts travelling around Australia with her young daughter.

Nov. 2008: The last photos of Ms Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce were taken at Marion Shopping Centre, Khandalyce wearing a pink dress. Last known sighting was driving on the Stuart Highway near Coober Pedy.

Sept. 2009: Following less and less contact, her mother files a missing persons report with NT police. The report is closed a week later. It was believed Ms Pearce-Stevenson was safe, but did not want contact.

Aug. 2010: The remains of a young woman were found by a group of trail bike riders in Belanglo State Forest in NSW. The woman’s time of death is determined to have been anywhere from six months to 10 years prior. A distinctive T-shirt with Angelic motif found with the remains prompts the victim to be known as ‘Angel’.

Dec. 2011: Her remains are still unidentified and a computer-generated image of the face is released.

July 2015: The skeletal remains of a child are found dumped in a Lanza suitcase alongside the Karoonda Highway, near Wynarka, on July 14. Several items of clothing and a distinctive handmade quilt are found. Detectives determine the child met a violent death aged 2 ½ to 4 and was killed up to seven years earlier at another location. DNA testing fails to yield her identity.

Aug-Sept. 2015: Police doorknock hundreds of properties in the Murray Mallee and receive more than 1000 Crime Stoppers calls. Clothing and quilt a key focus. Data-matching software identifies 6300 possible victims.

Oct. 8, 2015: One caller nominates Khandalyce as possibly being the little girl in the suitcase. Investigators then find a witness who had seen Khandalyce and her mother at Marion Shopping Centre in November 2008. She had photographed Khandalyce in a pink dress that was identical to that found in the suitcase. Police provided with photos of Khandalyce in a stroller with the handmade quilt that was also found in the suitcase.

Oct. 2015: A blood sample from Khandalyce’s medical records matches the DNA profile taken from the remains in the suitcase. Blood samples from Ms Pearce-Stevenson’s medical records is used for a DNA profile. Police confirm they match Belanglo remains.

October 27: SA Police reveal Karlie’s identity was stolen after her death and used to steal more than $90,000 — welfare benefits, wages and money from her family — from Ms Pearce-Stevenson’s account. The fraudsters impersonated Ms Pearce-Stevenson to authorities and her family members in brief phone calls.

October 28: A 41-year-old man is taken into police custody at Cessnock, NSW, for allegedly murdering Ms Pearce-Stevenson. He was charged with the murder late on Wednesday night.

October 29: Daniel Holdom appears in court charged with Karlie’s murder and is denied bail. It is revealed he was in a fatal car crash in SA’s Far North three months before Karlie’s murder that killed his girlfriend’s two children and left her in a wheelchair.

I just had a thought on what he might be serving 4 years for, if he was driving....

From Sydney Morning Herald article - Holdom was given a 12-month good behaviour bond and lost his licence for a year over the late-night crash on the Stuart Highway at Marla in the state's north.

What a poor sentence for the loss of 2 innocent child lives in a 4 wd vehicle which rolled - 7 people in car - 4 adults and 3 children. Were they all restrained I wonder?

I'll probably be attacked for this but seriously what an awful situation. Daniel not much sympathy. Something really Sick and awful. But Hazel.... There is some kind of screwed up mental state going on here. If 2 of my children died, my partner was having an affair/<modsnip> I was suddenly wheelchair bound..... I'd lose the plot. Completely. I'm not saying it's ok but I do feel compassion for this woman. If what you lived for was gone except one child of course. You were dealing with your new state of disability, pain, partner to blame...... This whole situation is so awful and screwed up. I'm sure that's why she has not been arrested. [emoji22]

You can't be attacked for having an opinion, any more than anyone else here or on any other forum.
We have no way of knowing what she was capable of prior to the accident and the loss of her kids, yet, but we do know some of what has been done after.
The police will not let emotions decide whether she is arrested or not, I believe all their emotions would have been used up for the victims in all this, Karlie and Khandalyce. None left over for any perpetrators.
The only time any of that sort of thing is considered is at a trial as a mitigating circumstance for the defence, but nothing ever excuses bad behaviour, it really only explains it.

That article hints that the girlfriend was still in the hospital when Karlie was killed? Am I reading that right?

Can you fathom a persons state of mind after their children are dead and they are paralysed.......

It could be that she is just as much of a victim, kept alive or kept around due to her usefulness as an invalid. We do not know, we are not in a position to judge at this time, but I am hopeful full declarations will be made by at least some of the parties involved.

Generally speaking, the carers pension is like a gold pass to collecting benefits without having to do much for it, and IMO it will be the next big thing Centrelink will be cracking down on, in much the same way as they have done now with the disability pension.

I am keeping an open mind about it until more is revealed. I always said somebody has been withholding that little girls body for a reason, whether it be a form of insurance or blackmail, so I am curious to see how it all pans out.

MOO

Many people go through trauma

One of the petrol stations on the bank transactions is opposite a large rehabilitation centre, as I said. 500 metres down the road.

Pay that one Crabby........pays to think outside the box.

What if the ex-partner HP is innocent.

We are only tying in 2 factors - that she was a former partner of DJH and that she is in a wheel-chair, as was the woman who impersonated Karlie at the credit union.

What if it is another woman entirely and, knowing the risk, a wheel-chair was used so that if the matter and cctv was ever investigated it would look like HP.

The fact that she has not been arrested indicates to me that possibly she is not guilty.

Just thinking out loud....

'Little Khandalyce Pearce outlived her mother Karlie, but not for long, and she suffered an equally brutal death, police have revealed.

Police allege Daniel James Holdom, 41, violently killed the 20-year-old between December 14 and 15, 2008, two years before her bones were discovered by trail bike riders.

NSW Homicide Squad boss Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said investigators believed her daughter (above) was not murdered until later that month.'

How would LE know that she was murdered at a later date since it happened so long ago?

There's also the hospital ATM withdrawals and the fact that she's lawyered up. All together it looks pretty bad.
I wonder too if she actually knew Karlie's family, <modsnip> which makes me think she probably lived there too. Ugh.

There might be evidence that Karlie was murdered onsite in the forest, and no evidence that Khandalyce was murdered there. There might also be video evidence of Khandalyce showing her alive, in the following days, but without her mother.

Forensics and excellent detective work.

That is a possibility. There is no indication from police that she is a POI or suspect. It is all MSM speculation at the moment.

I wonder too if she actually knew Karlie's family, her kids went to school in Alice Springs which makes me think she probably lived there too. Ugh.

Yeah, well she obviously needs medical care so frequent hospital visits would not be surprising.
Strangely, people keep assuming that whoever used the Royal Adelaide Hospital ATM must have been a patient, but visitors and staff use it too.
I don't find the fact that she is talking to lawyers at all odd, regardless of whether she is guilty or innocent.
What I do find odd though, is that they were outside, evidently in a park. I wonder why?

What if whoever was behind the fraud thought HP was a convenient person to pin it on?
Maybe the locations of ATMs used was strategic so that if it ever came to light she would be an obvious suspect.

Is that too far-fetched?

Thing is, she seems such an obvious suspect, yet she is not under arrest, and so I wonder why.

Someone has report seeing her since the date of her mother's murder is my guess.
