I always thought the bones had been held onto for some kind of insurance and used as blackmail.
Yes, or maybe if the perp had been placed in jail, the person felt safe from retribution if they let the bones be found.

Thanks for that, Antechinus. The Wikipedia quote sums it up nicely.

What is with the constant bashing of the media? Far out!

They dont always get it right but if we didnt have them we certainly wouldnt be posting here.

:gaah::banghead:

Bliss did that, above, I believe.

"police were then able to access Khandalyce's medical records, and obtain a blood sample that provided a positive match to the skeletal remains, which was later matched to Karlie's DNA.

No you said they were factually wrong without a quote, not Bliss. And Fruity proved where it was correct.

I'm just asking why you think it's 'factually wrong', because according to most of your posts everything in MSM is incorrect.

It's took me 2 days of reading to catch up..last time I commented was to find out where clothing had come from...and well damn me...

I need a drink ! .. I'm speechless..

Let me think .....

“He advised police that she was an ex-girlfriend. Police allege that the accused is using this keycard as another form of identification. The keycard is expired and the bank has since changed names,” court documents read. “The owner resides in another state, and so police destroyed the card.”

How can you say you are using a card in your ex-girlfriend's name as a form of identification for yourself?

Very true.......

But if anyone wants the most reliable source of information they can always go over to the south Australian police youtube page and watch all of the videos regarding the case. This is where a lot of reporters get the information from the press interviews they did.

Or Alternatively go to the south Australian police website

It really has moved quickly! I am amazed at the hard work the police have put in to get things moving at this lightning speed.

For me, it is a very serious issue.
Personally, I feel that the professional standards of journalists need to be challenged.
Obviously journalists can't always get everything right, but they have an obligation to their public to check their facts very carefully.
Unfortunately, in Australia, the commercial media are geared more towards sensationalising stories and getting them out fast, so that their paying advertisers will be happy with the ratings, than they are towards the dissemination of factual information.
I'm a stickler for provable and correct facts in journalism.
I have no problem with theories, whether from a fellow journalist or from someone outside the industry, as long as they state that it is a theory and don't obscure the facts in order to present it.

Id like to know where they got that information from? because i have read every official police report released to the public (i think) and watched every official press release video they have done as well as radio interviews and i have not heard them give that information out.

Paraphrase.

DH began a relationship with a 16yrs old that lived in the same suburb where Karlie and her daughter were last seen.
Though Ms Bludell is considered a witness and not a suspect her home was raided last week.
Ms Bludell is known to have lived with DH at a central coast caravan park about the time police pulled over to speak to he and an unidentified female at Narara on the Central Coast.
The Red Mazda 626 was searched and a stanley knife and ice pipe found. DH produced ID in numerous names.....he had Karlies expired bank card in his wallet.
The car was broken down and full of possessions.
It is believed the 2 began the relationship in 2012 and became engaged in July 2013.

Why did they raid her home when she lived somewhere completely different with DH? Seems a bit heavy handed.

If only they knew how close to the truth that was! And how much more sinister.

So if you like media to state that their articles are theory, could you please do the same and respond to my question - is your remark about 9 News being factually incorrect theory, fact or fiction. And why you believe one MSM article over the other.

I think it is factually wrong for exactly the same reason Bliss wrote - because it is.
I kept carefully up to date with the DNA examination and the extensive reporting from the primary source, Professor Austin at the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA.

So it is your opinion - ok thanks.

If you could state that in the future, it would be much appreciated and would stop us from wondering where you got your information from.

It's just the hurried writing of the introduction to the latest article.

The reality of a busy press schedule is that you are always rushing to get the latest bit of information out. You hurriedly chuck the intro together, but sometimes journalists get a bit sloppy with the details because they expect those to be scanned over by the reader who wants to get to quickly on to the juicy new bits.

When you think about it, it is really odd how quickly the police charged him with Karlie's murder and yet not with her daughters.

It was stated police have cell phone data placing him at the Belanglo State Forest on the date Karlie is assumed to have died. They also found him in possession of her bank card. There may be more, but that is pretty strong evidence to arrest him. But they may have no evidence linking him to the child's death.
