Throwing this out there, but I could be totally wrong.

The reporters have obviously been speaking to past and present neighbours in their hope of getting a scoop. It is possible that the neighbours confused Khandalyce with HP's youngest child, the one who survived the crash. She and Khandalyce were similar in age.

But isn't HP's youngest child a boy?

IN MY OPINION , i bet Karlies other identification was in the plastic bag that the solicitor took to the police station ?

I don't understand why there was a house search before and despite that, HP had something of certain evidence to take to the police station??

I think so . Its been a few years too so witness memory wouldnt be that clear

Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

I was thinking exactly the same. Two blonde haired toddlers of similar age - I'm sure I'd get confused too.

Wow, this thread has moved fast! I also think that something happened in 2011 that spooked DJH and HP -- 2011 was the year that Centrelink payments were ceased due to an "issue", the last year that Karlie's mobile phone was used (and presumably the last year her family had "contact" with the fraudsters posing as Karlie), and now it is reported that DJH and HP left their home abruptly leaving behind what surely must be valuable and meaningful possessions. I mean, leaving behind a shrine to the children you lost seems a pretty big deal to me.

Poor Khandalyse. What a terrible end to her life, her mother inexplicably gone, in the care of an adult or adults who probably saw her as a liability, an inconvenience, and who probably came to hate her. I can't find the article any more, but I recall that a forensic psychologist (who was consulted about the case back when Khandalyse had not been identified) had said that the behaviour of leaving the suitcase by the road was consistent with a perpetrator who simply wanted the remains far away from them. She did not feel that the person responsible wanted to bring attention to the murder, or that they feel remorseful. I feel as though this is consistent with what we have found out since about Karlie and Khandalyse being murdered separately, and the identity theft that occurred after death.

I also agree with those who feel that these offenders are not very clever. These people had seven years of "luck", but look how quickly the police seem to caught up with them as soon as they identified Karlie and Khandalyse as being victims.

But isn't HP's youngest child a boy?

Yesterday's media coverage showed a little boy, about 18 months old.

In 2008 Khandalyce was 2 years old. At that time, HP had three children. The two older kids were killed in the crash when DJH rolled the car, and there was a 2 year old in the car as well. That child survived.

I am suggesting that the 2 year old who survived the crash was confused by neighbours with Khandalyce.

If journalists are asking neighbours about their memories, those memories from 2008 could be cloudy when it comes to two blonde haired toddlers who were the same age. They may have thought it was Khandalyce, but in fact it was Hp's youngest child at the time.

pretty sure her mental state was not good for these reasons and could explain why she said nothing for so many years:

* man she was in a relationship with was driving the car that killed her kids and injured herself
* man left her high and dry recouperating in rehab (for whatever reason) and was travelling around Oz with a friend who was their friend before said accident.
* man and friend now romantically involved
* friend (probably now ex friend) romantically involved with her ex boyfriend - still has a kid (everything she lost).

So not only did this man have involvement in taking 2 of her kids, her mobility/lifestyle forever more, he ran off with her friend leaving her in hospital.

Pretty sure I wouldn't care too much if either of them fell off the face of the earth if I was her.

Just sayin'

Why then living together with him after all that (and perhaps more ...)??

The date of engagement seems to change from time to time ... :)

Yes :blushing:it was 2012 wasn't it.
Too many months ... too many years ..... too much evil .... and I am getting more confused.

I would say the neighbour's wouldn't be confused about Khandalyces identity the reason being that type of neighbourhood everyone knows everyone-borrowing sugar types, they all socialise. This is where I think the crime stopper call originated from IMO

Who the hell could could suddenly think " yep it's time we got rid of the little girl" that poor little thing. She would have probably been missing her mum terribly . Makes me feel sick

I cannot see HP being innocent in what has gone on. Time will tell.

What is obvious though is that DH had some strange allure and hold on some women, including HP, KSP and the 16yo. It sticks out to me how young the girls/women are that he is attracted too. HP was 26 in 2008, having had her first child at 17. A 7 year age difference between her and DH. No idea how long she had been with DH at that stage, but it was awhile I guess considering they had the then 2yo daughter together (she is his). KSP was young as we know, 20 to his 36. It sickens me that he formed a relationship with the 16yo when he was 38yo. I have 2 daughters with my oldest being 11 and a half. I cannot fathom her with someone 26 years her senior in just 4+ years. I would be beside myself. I am only 2 years older than him. I am so grateful that for whatever reason she did not end up with him to this day. She must be counting her lucky stars with all that has come out. While I am rambling it makes me so sad to see these 2 men Karlie was attracted too, the man now imprisoned for murdering his estranged wife, and her very own alleged killer. I dated my share of bad boys but nothing like these two vile men. Hopefully she also experienced true love during her short life, perhaps with A - little Khandles father.

i didn't know or see anything that said she did....???

these are just theories, as everyone's are...i have no idea why normal people do what they do, let alone sickos who kill and pilfer dead peoples money.

Maybe the prosthetic wasn't important to her. She doesn't appear to wear one now in the media photos I have seen. Along with the shrine. Perhaps when she moved she just saw it as a way to leave the past behind.
It doesn't say if the shrine was indoors, it may be a garden or homemade crosses with photos. She could have created something at her new home to honour them that was nicer. The idea of leaving behind the shrine of her children doesn't sit right with me.

The "shrine" was shown in the news on TV today. Some sort of shiny ornaments with the kids names.

Karlie accused, Daniel James Holdom, ‘engaged to teen’
THE AUSTRALIAN OCTOBER 31, 2015 12:00AM

From the above article:

"Khandalyce’s body was dumped in a suitcase beside a highway about 130km west of Adel*aide in July this year. Detec*tives identified her and her mother only after a relative called Crime Stoppers on October 8."

That is the first time I have seen it called a relative who called in a vital tip.

Which channel? I wonder if it's online.
I don't watch the news links because I don't want my children to overhear them and hover to try watch it.

There is another theory that I like. That whilst HP was in hospital after the accident, and after pervy old DH had an affair with the young friend, the young friend became a bit clingy, a bit tearful, a bit of a handful perhaps. They say KPS could be a 'pocket rocket'
He's killed her, to stop her telling HP, who is is main squeeze., and mother of his child. He also had to kill Khandalyce and then stashed them in a basement or whatever and got rid of them later, KP on the way across to Canberra, and KPS In Belanglo. Evidently he has family in Canberra so maybe he went home for Xmas? HP still in hospital, maybe knew nothing. And was later conned into using cards and phone to scam Centrelink and parents.
