That was a breathtaking moment when I read that quote from the detective, and something I have been fixated about, Oona.... a heartbreaking thing. And I don't think its a DNA thing, or a matter of forensic autopsies, in this context, it has to be some other indicator. Some photo, a sighting, a careless remark, other people, .. I don't see how it could be concluded from the bodies, forgive me , please.

The reason for this belief , ( that Khandalyce was murdered at some point after Karlie ) I think, will be the major key to this entire crime, of which, again, I think , is nowhere near fully revealed as yet. The police must have some strong and unarguable indication of matters that clearly back up this claim.. this belief.

And I don't think that it was for reasons of kindness , or pity, or compassion, either. I don't think the police think that , as well. There doesn't seem to be much of that running thru this whole enterprise of Holdrum, et al.

I am with you here Trooper. However, remember when the bones were first discovered in the suitcase - detectives seeking answers and identification stated that the little child died a horrible death, and that the perpetrator/s were evil. So obviously there was some evidence from the bones to indicate this. I have my thoughts, but will not elaborate here.

I think they were a reconstruction, not the originals.
I doubt the landlord kept the originals for 7 years.
He/she would have chucked them out with the rest of the rubbish when cleaning for new tenants.
The story about leaving the "shrine" and false leg are someone's memory of events.

Maybe he also dumped a small suitcase full of unwanted kids clothes... and other things!

Just getting the facts straight, Makara.
It's what I do :)

In SA, since 2013, "Major Crime" includes homicide.
The organisational structure of police departments in other states may be different though, which could be the cause of this confusion.

"In late 2013 SAPOL reviewed its existing Major Crime Investigation Branch (MCIB)and as a result, increased specialist staff by 14 positions aimed at enhancedinvestigation of major crimes around the state, particularly homicides.
MCIB now consists of:
• Three investigation teams to provide an immediate and dedicated response tocurrent Tier 2 Major Crimes.
• Two special operation teams committed to cold case investigations, participating in task forces and tactical support to the investigation teamsimmediately following a major crime declaration.
• Two quality assurance officers to support LSAs in the management of Tier 1Homicide Investigations."

I believe the video says 'Mark Aldridge Child Protection Advocate' and not 'agency'. It looks like this was this man the media was speaking to and not an employee of child protection services. He is an independent political candidate http://www.markmaldridge.com/2012-CHILD-ABUSE-ENQUIRY.html

they are concerned about the other children at the house that HP is currently in with her partner. I guess family services would now be heavily involved for one reason or another.

Thanks Jane.....what!!! no cupcakes lol...

These are Adelaide Papers yeah....??

I think they should saturate the NSW towns of Orange, Bathurst and even Dubbo with front page headshots of the accused ..... and see what happens then... IMO.....could be interesting....there's a reason he doesn't want his face out there....and it isn't just this case...

I've' tried with no luck to search back through the pages.....and couldn't find the media link..I thought it was supposed to be clipped to the first page of each new thread?? .. What was the alias/or reported MSM name of the 16 year old he was engaged to??

Puggle do you not understand the sub judice law yet? NSW MSM would be loath to paste DH's photo all over their pages. And do you really think that DH has the luxury of saying what he wants and doesn't want printed in a newspaper?

BBM. What link is supposed to clipped to the front page of each new thread? We have a Media/Timeline thread if you want to find a specific link. The link to the Media/Timeline thread is on page one of this thread. And there is always Google.

Did someone pull in at the cairns and the left the body full of 'confidence' that they would not be discovered by police in a game of cat and mouse?

Have we heard an approximation of how long Khandles was in the suitcase? What did they take her out of?

Had Khandles been sitting in something else on the side of the road? You dont put a decomposed body in your boot, not in a container.

Googles

Since forensics reported that "the bones themselves weren't bleached, so it didn't look like they have been out in the sun for a great period of time. They weren't dirty, so they didn't look like they had been buried" I think a car boot, container or even a disused caravan ?????

Crabby.....this is old.... we, you already know what police and forensics think.... Her body was left to decompose somewhere dry outside of the suitcase....she wasn't buried...there was no bleaching so her remains weren't left out in the elements...

Some trigger..... a sudden move...an upheaval....the decomposed body (Skeleton) was swept up with other scattered clothing and shoved into the suitcase....for whatever reason...

Some have suggested a shed or under a house....disgustingly I have found plenty of cases where children have been murdered or have been near on deaths door who have been inside a house.....either left to rot to skeleton or luckily from some divine intervention found just prior to deaths door..... some humans are so beyond the majority of human societies understanding of what is "Human" it's amazing...

it was after DH was arrested that they started saying KP was killed later. He has also only been charged with the murder of one but not both. It can't have come from him cause evidently he is not talking. Who else could they have spoken to that gave them the idea that Khadalyce was alive after her mother was dead

NSW Police Force established Strike Force Hixson in August 2010 following the discovery of the skeletal remains of a young woman at Belanglo State Forest

South Australia Police established Task Force Malee in July 2015 following the discovery of the skeletal remains of a little girl in a suitcase on Karoona Highway, Wynarka.

A joint-agency operation, involving Homicide Squads from South Australia, New South Wales, Northern Territory, and ACT Police, has been established.

“In addition, we have received great support from our law enforcement colleagues across the country and from a number of government agencies in our respective states.

Det Supt Willing said the NSW and SA Homicide Squads are working closely to complete the picture of Karlie’s life, particularly since the birth of Khandalyce in 2006.

(Today) Not related to our case, BUT I noticed "South Australia" - "Canberra", and I'm thinking of a possibilty re a founded company and money receipts. I don't know if possible at all to disguise this kind of commercial??

When HP and DH abandoned their home and left behind a shrine and a leg, was there some form of raid "on the march" in 2011?

Thanks Amee.
That's correct.
Being a NSW Police press release, where they do have a dedicated "homicide squad" by that same name, that is naturally what they refer to the SA secondment as.
None-the-less, it is technically called "Major Crime" here in SA.
The organisational structure is explained thoroughly in the 2013-2014 SAPOL Annual Report I linked above.
I'm really not sure what the issue is with this.
The original confusion seems to be people thinking that HP was interviewed by different groups of detectives or different departments, but there is nothing to suggest that is correct.

Police somehow established that Karlie was killed in Belanglo Forest on 14/15 December 2008. I believe to narrow her death to two dates or spanning the two dates, they must have had irrefutable proof from someone. It is likely that they also have established that Kandalyce was gone by end of December 2008 from a similar source. It could be neighbours relative to where they were staying, a shopkeeper, doctor, appt, child carer or any number of other sources.

I didn't pose the question, Makara.

I responded to Kouriouskell who wrote:
"with all the scrutiny regarding the mis quoted reports, can and any one else remember an interview that said that the first time HP was at the police station , she was helping criminal detective with their inquiries and on Friday she was helping Homicide detectives with their enquiries ? "

I responded that I couldn't find that link either. I said "Nope. I couldn't find that specific quote at the time either."

Then the conversation continued from there.

I explained that there is no such thing as a dedicated "homicide" group/division/section in SA.
Then I linked the SAAPOl Annual Report explaining the organisational structure.

I actually have family and friends in the force here Jane so I am not totally clueless! :gaah:
