Just a random thought...
If you wanted to show the sale of equipment that you had a bank loan for but had never actually purchased (as in you use the money for other purposes), would recording it as "sold" to another company and offering that ABN as proof, get the bank off your back if they were trying to repossess that equipment?
Anyone with financial institution knowledge here who might know?
I'm not sure, but I suspect any of your assets could be forfeit, not just the item that the loan was for.

  • #342
Right, so that rules out that as a purpose for the fake ABN .
Thanks guys!

according to the bank withdrawals' on Karlies account, Holdom, almost immediately upon murdering Karlie, shouts himself quite a long tour around Australia in the hottest months, too..

The police say, with a fair amount of determination, that Karlie was murdered 15/12/2008

Cash out of her account, on the 16/12 and the 19th, at Charnwood and Deakin ACT..

then he leaves Canberra because on the 22nd he and the card are in Broadview, SA. The card stays there with the holder of it, I presume ,until the 6th January. A Xmas break in Broadview, then off again, on the 6th of Jan, 2009.. now this is the long haul to Alice Springs.. stop for a fillup on Karlie's card at Coober Pedy , SA on the 6/1/09, then on to Alice arriving at least on the 7th , use Karlies card in Alice, then on the 10th of January back in Broadview, using the card again.

Some mileage figures... Deakin ACT to Broadview SA = 1172.1

Broadview to Coober Pedy....= 840.6

Coober Pedy to Alice Springs = 688.2

Alice Springs to Broadview = 1526.5

and then the trip back to Canberra......................... =1172.1

All up, that's 5398.3 klms... of those, 3052.0 klms were done in 3 days.

I don't think it's possible that he had Khandalyce with him on that journey. (a) he would have been very noticeable, a young man travelling alone with a small child, .. (b) I don't think he could keep up the speed for that distance without stopping a lot and attending to a baby. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it would have been difficult in spades. I recall that mad man from WA who snatched his little son and drove clear across to Coober Pedy, so it can be done, I guess... but he stopped at places for quite a while along the way.

This time schedule doesn't allow any stopping time at all. Not even nap times. Has anyone done anything like this distance in this time frame?? I haven't. I've taken days to do it, clear across the USA, but that took me 3 weeks.... I have never been able to cope with corn since then. It once took me 17 hours from Melbourne to Brisbane, but that was in a top notch car and two drivers.

I wonder if he hired a vehicle again for this journey in summer. Hard driving in that weather on both car and driver. I don't see how he could have of his own, a late model highpowered car..

Maybe Khandalyce was dropped off at whomsoever's at Broadview, and picked up on the way back. Who? why? Who lives, or lived at Broadview, or Enfield, or Prospect or around there?

of course, he may have had another driver, along for the trip, I don't know. It isn't impossible.

Definately possible, with another driver or even on you're own. Depends on the motive, I guess.

For example, if you drove at an average of, say, 110kph from 6am to 6pm you could roughly cover 1300k's ... give or take slowing down, speeding up, toilet break etc. This still gives you time at the end of the day to eat & have enough sleep before you set off again at say 6am. Times this over 3 days & you could of covered aprox 3,900k's in this time.

and of course, I should have said kilometerage.. not mileage..

this next table is the approx. time it takes, taking into consideration the state of the roads, the absence or proliferation of freeways, highways, and 2 lane bitumen..

from Broadview to Cooper Pedy... = 8 hrs 27 min, via Princes and Stuart Highway..

Cooper Pedy to Alice Springs...... = 7 hours 31 mins, via the Stuart..

Alice Springs to Broadview.... = 16hrs via the Stuart...

.......................................... that's... 32 hours driving.. out of 72 hours, leaving 40 hours for everything else....

with a small child?... how long?

with a reserve driver ( who has remained silent about this.. ) . how long?

a solo driver, .......how long?

and just to add to the mix.. The highest recorded maximum temperature for December in South Australia in 2008 was 42.5°C at Moomba on the 26th of the month. ( Moomba is in the far north of SA, on the way to Alice. ) .. the heat remained at this temperature into 2009, in the far north and the south of NT up until the 7th January 2009.

  • #348
In December of 2008, the average price of unleaded in South Australia was around 1.18 a litre... .. basing the cost overall on that price, ( although there would have been fluctuations from State to State, and even from day to day, and with in states depending on their distance from the main distribution centre.. ) and working on a 2007 model Holden Commodore, on unleaded, Holden website says, that model got around 10 kms to the litre, on an average run, . he would have had to run the air conditioning all the way out and all the way back....

so on that basis.. 5398 kms.. at , say, 10 kms per litre of fuel at $1.18 per litre.. rounding up all the numbers.. that's around $650 for fuel. Just the fuel.

$ 650 to spend about 7 hours max in Alice Springs. .. must have been a compelling reason.

I think, the holder of the card, was used to doing lots of K's ... second nature. I asked my partner, who covers a massive amount of k's per week if the trip taken was possible .... & was told ... "too easy".

However, I don't think all this travelling would be possible with a small child, in this time frame anyway. IMO

Would only cost around $600 (in 2015) to get a return flight.

Unless you treated the child like animal cargo and kept it heavily sedated IMO
I was driven across the USA as a car sick child. Stuff happens.

Your partner is a hero. mine said ' what!.... in 42 degrees?? thru the Simpson Desert? not if you paid me in heavy gold. '.. just goes to show. The only concession he made, was, 'what was the payoff ? "....

There has long been a database for payment purposes. Certainly before 2008. If you rang Medicare and identified yourself you could have a printout of your history sent to you. You might need some extra information such as the the Medicare Benefits Schedule to interpret it, but the information was there.

Could you give me a link to where you read this information so I can research this further please, JLZ? Plongi has piqued my interest.

I have driven from Adelaide to Alice and Alice to Adelaide a few times usually stop for the night in Coober Pedy. Adelaide to Alice straight up is not unusual I know plenty of people that do it. I would suggest some sort of drugs probably help. It's not to say he wasn't hitching with a truckie.
Or had company. Keeping in mind the NT had an open speed limit so if your car could do say 150kms per hour it was legal to do so.
I'm sure I read somewere HP got out of rehab around 12th of Jan. so maybe DH stopped in for a quick visit. On his way to Alice.
Wondering why he would keep going back though? <modsnip>
Maybe he knew the carer?
Maybe the carer has kept people informed of the family seeking KPS as her mother was dying etc, hence the quick call to her mum virtually days after the MPR surely it can't be
coincidence? Also if KPS mother was dying maybe she was on some very strong pain killers and didn't recognise the difference in voices if there was one or just wanted to be at peace and believe it was her daughter and she was helping her and could have even been told of she helped she could come home again. Just some random thoughts, my opinions.

Maybe the suitcase was kept somewhere with KPS car until it was on sold? My opinion only

So who was looking after HPs daughter while she was in rehab?
Could explain the "other" woman.
Maybe at times looking after 2 girls?
