Found Deceased AUS - Tayla Spies,29, white 2017 dual cab Toyota Hilux I’d also missing. Left a hotel in Daley & travelled west to Surat, Queensland, 2 Feb 25

I get that, I was wondering if you'd like to elaborate on exactly what had happened to it?
I dont know exactly what happened to it ????

i guess im still going with my theory that something happened to her after she left Surat and she had to change her shirt because of it.
But all along I've believed there's others involved in her disappearance, and it may be as you said earlier, her shirt could have gotten dirty or damaged, bloodied ? Just my thought on her change of shirt.

yeah that is the problem with these missing persons cases, media are not always accurate in their reporting. Probs why so much of the public have varying views because of what media platform they follow.

This is a VERY COMMON thing in missing persons cases. I dont know whether lazy journalism or what it is, but it is the reason why there is always conflicting reports.

A LOT of times if you look back on the original media report, in the heading it will have "updated" - so by the time a link is posted, chances are the next day or two, it will not show some of what has been said but has been updated to something 'new'.

I got the above "Her car was found 'not in good condition on a remote property" from here
Devastating update in search for mum who vanished two months ago

Thanks for the video -
I looked at it again and he says "PROPERTY BELONGING TO TAYLA WAS LOCATED IN THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS NOT IN GOOD CONDITION PUT IT THAT WAY."
I agree. Someone at the press conference should have clarified.

It’s confusing because the question was about the vehicle and the police answered by talking about what was inside the vehicle. He also uses the phrase “it’s consistent with…” before he says “it was not in good condition put it that way”. I think he changed what he was going to say so it didn’t sound speculative.

MAYBE he was going to say something like ‘it’s consistent with the vehicle being there X amount of time’. But it does make it confusing because it could be interpreted differently like the items were consistent with the vehicle’s condition - not good. I didn’t interpret it that way but I can see how someone could.

Things that would cause me to change shirt when I was going to be home in a few hours - very dirty/significant spill, very wet, very sweaty, vomit, blood, bird crap, stopping somewhere nicer on the way home

Reasons I wouldn’t - minor spill/stain, minor blood eg minor cut, bit dirty, little bit sweaty, not planning on stopping on the way home

Interesting that all along police said that they were worried for her health and are keeping an open mind. (Police update when they found her car/remains).
Health could mean mental or physical - maybe drugs.
Autopsy may not show up everything due to time/weather. Guessing that toxicology may take some time, as is usual.
The information regarding the usual rider about Lifeline etc, is not usually included unless it is obviously suicide.
So guess we all have to have an open mind. If foul play, we probably won't hear any more until much later eg after a court case. And even then, if the accused pleads guilty, we may never know.
All so sad and confusing.

Sorry, I didn't word that well. I meant your theories about the condition of the shirt. I didn't mean to imply that you knew for sure.

I think Tayla has driven herself to this property

possibly a quick visit to see someone before going home?

The video shows her when she reached the library in Surat, rather than turning right to Roma, about 80kms away, she made a left turn onto the Carnarvon Hwy, towards the NSW border.

If the vehicle had been there all this time and the police had not discovered it earlier, that would explain why it was locked (as Tayla) would have locked it and nothing was in disarray in the back of her vehicle, including bag and pink shirt

I think she changed to her new shirt before she entered this property

We don't know anything about the owner, only that he reported to the police about her vehicle being found and he doesn't believe it's been there longer than 12 days.

But does he live on the property? Do other people live on the property?

or

has someone been a temporary farm worker there and has since left?

has the owner been overseas and has come back recently and then noticed the vehicle?

Is there any CCTV on the property?

The important part of this puzzle is her phone. Was it located with her? Did the police find it in her vehicle? The police can trace her movements, look at calls, messages, etc

It sounds like not a lot of effort has gone into hiding her body or burying it

The autopsy will give police the direction they go If it is criminal If nothing turned out obvious at the scene, and if they know already, they will be watching

As well as all the other forensic testing being done, the vehicle will be checked for fingerprints inside and out, as well steering wheel as well to see if anyone else has driven it

The car was self locking

Im not sure where it says, nothing was in disarray in the back of her vehicle, including bag and pink shirt.. What news article was that in?

I think that was in the police conference. I’d have to re-watch to be 100%.

he car, about 2km into the property off the Yuleba-Surat road, which backs onto the Yuleba State Forrest, was locked but the interior was not in "disarray".

The car was found locked and has not been opened.
A number of her belongings, including the pink shirt she was wearing on the day she disappeared, were visible inside.
Watts said the belongings could be seen from outside the car, which did not seem to be in disarray.

No, the 2017 Toyota Hilux dual-cab utility does not have a "self" door locking feature, but it does have remote central locking and a key proximity system for convenience.

YEP, that is what was said.

But your comment was, " nothing was in disarray in the back of her vehicle, including bag and pink shirt"

My Q was, what article said, back of her vehicle including bag and pink shirt.

The Daily Mail is not really a media outlet that is known for facts.
It is even showing an incorrect map of where her car was located.

The car was located on the Yuleba Surat Road, Noorindoo.

Her pink shirt — the same one she was last seen wearing in CCTV footage — was found inside the ute

Yes I know.

As I said, you mentioned, "nothing was in disarray in the back of her vehicle, including bag and pink shirt"

But you have explained what you meant to say in the previous post, so ALL GOOD.

Good to know. I read that it was self locking by someone else.
