That pump is a HI flow pump meant for heavy vehicles (trucks) that just have a direct filler cap into their tanks. The smaller hose for (light utility vehicles) is on the other side. That hose fills so fast it cuts out because a LUV fuel inlet can't take it in fast enough, and you can't even fit the nozzel into cars... so in that time, she may have put in say 20L... or perhaps she filled it, it cut out, and she thought it was full lol

Yes, good point. She barely even has time to insert the nozzle. I wonder if there was an issue with the fuel tank or gauge, and the tank was full but didn't show it? Or was that station actually out of fuel at that pump? Did she decide it was the wrong type? That particular make of car could be either diesel or petrol.

It's almost like she is going through the motions of trying to look like she's purchasing fuel, but for what reason? Was someone associated with her in another car, out of sight, and she was wasting time until they drove away? Would that be so she could actually turn and drive a different way than was expected? It doesn't really appear that she's aware of anyone off camera. We do see her come back after getting out the first time, and open the fuel cap from inside the car. (We've all been there!) It also appears like she drives off without putting her seat belt on, for what it's worth. Very odd indeed.

Something is weirdly off with this whole situation. The info is scarce and inconsistent, there’s no publicity, police pressers, ongoing urgency or searches, and it’s just too… strangely quiet.

BF & Police state Tayla was last seen north of Surat near the Roma-Condamine turnoff (that goes to Yuleba). Phone last pinged off the Yuleba tower.

Yet a lot of attention has been given to Tayla possibly heading south of Surat, when she probably just went around the block and headed north towards home as she allegedly said she was doing. Yeah?

If this is correct

- Tayla’s in Surat at 11.10am and then 30kms north twenty minutes later. This is the direction of Roma, and home.

- 30k’s north of Surat places her near the Roma-Condamine Road turnoff. If she turned down the Roma-Condamine Road she’d drive towards Yuleba.

Police statement:
“Tayla was last seen travelling along the Carnarvon Highway, just south of the Condamine turnoff heading towards Roma between the hours of 10am and 1pm, on Sunday afternoon February 2.”

Hopefully police have serched the yuleba surat road... including that dam... Also her phone pings there after she left surat. I think it would be very difficult to hide a white car in a dam out here. They aren't huge deep bodies of water like on the coast because they are usually dug or dammed creeks. They would have seen it from the chopper...

The second dam that was mentioned in a statement is apparently from broadwater, which is half hour out of dalby along the moonie hwy, given times and security camera evidence, I don't think she drove out the moonie.

My line of thinking is a little different; apologies, I could have been more specific.

I'm coming from a pov that it wasn't her driving in Surat, and she and the phone were close by. She met with foul play in that area (53km radius of phone tower - could also be where she was getting changed, as didn't do at servo and wouldn't do in a busy area if can avoid). Then the (or one of the) offender/s was told to take her car as far away from Roma as possible, and quickly and so headed south through Surat towards the border, you would not want to take it anywhere near Roma for fear of someone recognising the vehicle. This is all based on the possibility it's not her driving in Surat, which it seems there is no confirmation, just probability. If they really wanted to create a good countermeasure, the offender could have put her pink shirt on, knowing there are CCTV in Surat..

IMO She and her phone are nearby; someone else drove the car out of Surat. Dam's are suitable locations, with a reduced timeframe of removing any forensics.

I actually did a paper once on the distance from the road/car an offender will traverse with a victim. And it's not far , <50m if I remember rightly.

If she takes the roma-condy road, she would head towards yuleba creek, which is approximately 50km south of yuleba, a town which is on the warrego hwy. I attached some pictures above. Attached is a map of the area, hopefully this explains as the media have it messed up.

The second map shows the way she could have gone to surat. Given the video footage from condy roadhouse, she went via the condy hwy as from that servo you head left and over the bridge, which means she most likely went by the red line.

I'm just starting on all this websleuth, although have a lot of skills to bring to the table. Learning how to map, and notes etc. I mapped out the tower a previous member mentioned for reference.

Would it maybe be worthwhile if we shared a map to work on; people for this page ? Seems efficient

Hmmm... I do see your idea, but in my opinion, while she may have taken the retreat road to surat, unless she had a very special reason to do so, she wouldn't... it's an unsealed winding s*** road that takes you on a cut lunch and compass trip... condy hwy is a top quality 8m seal from the maranoa boundary to the Carnarvon hwy... much more enticing lol

Her Car is seen at 11.10am in Surat, heading south.\

Dalby to Surat, via Miles and Condamine is 3hrs 13min, not including the time taken to fill up. It's 1hr and 47min from Dalby to BP. She should arrive in Surat, no stops - at 11.21am

If we remove Miles; that's 2hr 49; again no stops; it's 1hr and 23 from Dalby to BP. Surat earliest would arrive is 10.57am.

This shows she likes to speed/high limit - because the earliest she should have been at the BP was 9.30am (1hr 23min from 8.08am Dalby, and if she went via Miles, it would have been 9.55am; a full 30min. And really, she's packing the car at 8.08am, so another few min there before leaving; then 50km roads in town etc.

Ok.I feel comfortable now that it's most likely she took the Kogan Condamine Rd, just based on time and distance and sighting.

I might self-delete parts of my post about her meeting foul play before Surat; I don't think there is any time. Thoughts?

Awesome job with the times!! Yeah I'm hopeless with maths... actually how about just numbers totally... lol. But hey from experience, yep I think you have the times pretty right, 1½ dalby to condy, 1¼ condy to roma turn-off... but I am a snail lol.

I haven't kept up with the case very well, so apologies if I'm rehashing old stuff, but I have questions.

• Do we know what business she was in town for yet? Was she still doing event planning? Her business Instagram page hasn't had a post in 2 years. Was there an event on that weekend that may have required her services? It's a town of over 12,000 people, so I imagine there would have been. Engagement parties, weddings, 21st etc. The Windsor Hotel does have a function room. Do we know why she didn't travel with her partner, either the Friday night or the Saturday morning?
• Do we know what time the boyfriend left the hotel? What was his demeanor? Did they kiss or say goodbye before leaving each other? 8am is early to leave on a Sunday, was there a reason for this? It's only about 3 hours travel time, did she/they have lunch plans back in Roma?
• Do we know why she went the longer way, via Surat? There was mention of stopping to see friends, has this been elaborated on? Were they in Surat? Did she see them? How long for, and what was her demeanor? What was she wearing then? Why did she change? Did she have a meeting of some sort planned, and if so, what type that would require changing clothes a few hours into the day, and the same style she was already wearing?
• Did she stop at any place apart from for fuel? Didn't her boyfriend say he met her somewhere on the side of the road? If so, when? Why did they stop? Did he expect her to come straight home and be home at a similar time? If so, why did he not contact police earlier? If he knew she'd be longer, why have we not learnt why, and what times she was expected at certain places?
• Is he the father of all her kids? Are there any other baby daddy's in the picture?
• Any mention of what was in the heavy bag she was carrying? Was that all her luggage? What luggage did her partner have?

Apologies but I am not convinced, there is no cut at that moment, as the plants nearby are moving with the wind and there isn’t the slitest jump in motion when you zoom in. Rather you do see a cut just after when she walks away to pay and returning to her car. I can accept better the explanation of the high flow pump, even though I find it hard to understand even under high pressure how anyone can fill in such a tank in 5/6 secs only.
Anyone with a HD screen to read the data on the pump?
For me this is an important clue
