Given the change of clothes, wearing a “Mimco” handbag, veering off the direct route home, car found on a private property, mention of looking for work on a local station, had she arranged to meet someone “about a job on that property”?
so has it been confirmed she was looking for work on a station???

As far I can see, that was just 1 of many options, as to why she would have changed shirts

The owner of property is a innocent person and had no knowledge what so ever of TS being there JMO

Police report that they have found human remains. They do not say a body has been found. This indicates to me that she has been in this place for more than 2 weeks. My opinion is that she has been there since missing. I can't think of any other reason her car has only recently been placed in this position.
I don't really follow the suicide theory, unless there was followup or consequences for her court appearances. Unless she was going to lose her children and was in deep into something. All my speculation to try to make some sense of this.

I dont agree the car and her have been there since Feb 2

And dont believe the suicide theory either. Why change clothing.

I'm staying with my original theory.

Did her children live with her? If someone was watching them for the weekend, when was she expected to pick them up if her bf was the one who reported her missing?

  • Car may have had body damage.
  • Items inside the car show signs of stress consistent with being in a sealed & hot environment.

  • Multiple searches, including aerial/drones, were conducted in the area.
  • Not known if this particular property was searched from the air.
  • On February 2nd, the temperature in Noorindoo was 35°C (95°F). It was a clear, hot and sunny Summer day.
  • Since 2nd February, south west Queensland has experienced significant rain and flooding in parts.
  • Noorindoo has a population of 71. Warkon, right next door & close to the site of the car and body, has a popn of just 30. Yuleba has 270 people and Yuleba South has 20 residents. Surat has 400 people and Roma has approximately 6800 people.
Love your work Rocket, thanks for making things clearer.

If that's true, it speaks volumes. Mums are usually the ones with 50% or more custody, and for her to lose them would take a LOT IMHO.

HIGHLY DOUBT THAT to be the case. A backpacker in a small country town, picked up by her and then potentially killed by a backpacker?

Nah not buying that theory. But I do like Charlies theory on this though;

"‘It’s a missing persons case but with a mystery like this you start to look at all aspects of this person’s life you ask yourself, “Why would a 29-year-old mum want to disappear?”,’ he said.

‘Anyone connected to this case in anyway is a person of interest.'"

I actually mentioned picking up a hitch hiker and things not going well a day or so ago. I don't think it's the most likely scenario, but it was one I had thrown out there.

Also, Bezzina seems to have something to say on a few high profile cases. I do wonder if all these retired or former cops/specialists/whatever are regretting their choices and want back in on the action. Or maybe Daily Mail are just too persistent.

Oops, sorry, I must have missed your post on that 😬

But I agree it's unlikely ... however it would explain where the car went for 6 weeks... the back packer took it on holidays lol

To be fair, I think it was a long, and probably rambling, post, so you're forgiven. :)

Why would that make sense - to bring her car to her body? A body in that landscape is far harder to find visually, in your day to day business, than an unobscured Hilux. It's a bit like putting a giant arrow pointing to her body. We don't yet know what state her body was found in, and an estimated time of death. It seems the Hilux has been there no more than about 12 days, assuming someone has been in that part of the property then and the car wasn't there. Maybe she has been there all along, or maybe they were both dumped there (if foul play) just recently. The best case scenario is that it was a tragic accidental/natural death, and she got disoriented, had a medical episode, a bad trip etc and had been wandering around until she died, or driving around (far less likely) and left the car there recently.

I'm not buying that though. My money is on foul play, but why? Possible reasons are endless: she knew too much about a situation, she had the power to get someone into trouble, she was causing "trouble" for someone (I'm thinking along the lines of her recent court appearances), there was a drug deal gone wrong, she was in with a dangerous crowd, she did something illegal/immoral/just something that pissed someone off, an argument broke out and someone got physical, she was accidently hit and killed on the side of the road and it was covered up, she picked up a hitch hiker and it all went downhill, I could go on. Feel free to throw out your theories.

Hopefully as details come to light, things start to actually make sense, for her family and some form of closure. I think there may be elements that never get expanded on though, so we -the public- may never find out the whole situation.

This is what I can't get past...

On 7/2/25 QPS said that Tayla "was last seen travelling along the Carnarvon Highway, just south of the Condamine turnoff heading towards Roma between the hours of 10am and 1pm, on Sunday afternoon February 2."

I can't find any updates from them after this that report this detail. In Update 1 from QPS on 10/2 they said "Following information received from the community, police have confirmed Tayla Spies was last seen in the Surat area between 11-11.30am on Sunday, February 2."

In Update 2, they stated "Her vehicle was last seen at the intersection of Burrowes Street and Cordelia Street in Surat at 11.10am." This is what the CCTV in Surat shows. It also shows her driving in the opposite direction from what would be expected if she was heading back to Roma.

ACA reported that she "met with friends just north of town, and then her partner". Her car was captured "after that on CCTV". It was also reported in ACA that the phone tower which her phone last pinged on could "capture the Surat-Development Rd" - which IS in the direction from the way Tayla's car was actually seen driving on the CCTV in Surat at 11.10am.

(IMO "just north of town" is not 30km up the road. My guess is maybe the park on the north side of Surat, or someone's house).

I don't know the area personally but there are roads that head north off Surat-Development Rd at least towards the area Tayla's vehicle was found e.g. River Rd. If you follow River Road to Petreat Road that starts to head up to the Yuleba State Forest. In Google Maps, from Surat, this gave me a 47 min drive.

A news.com.au article also said "Police said Ms Spies's mobile phone data placed her east of Surat about an hour after her car was seen driving through town". I think I've read somewhere this was at 12.13pm.

Is there any proof that she was ever on the Carnavon Hwy, just south of the Condamine turnoff heading towards Roma?

He's not still in prison, he's in the ground. He died in 2019.

We don't know for sure she changed clothes, other than the police saying her pink shirt was in the vehicle where it was found. I can't imagine someone keeping her remains until two weeks ago. And the police refer to the body as remains. If she only died 2 weeks ago, the body would not be in such a decomposed manner to be referred to as remains. Not even if left out in weather.

That, plus recent court case, leads me to wonder again about suicide.

I also reviewed the footage of her at the Condamine BP and noticed a few things.

1. The handbag she is carrying and it could be a Mimco handbag. It's a crossbody bag with a thick strap and has a gold badge on the front. Mimco has definitely made bags like this. If I'm not mistaken no one ever said Tayla CHANGED bags, just that she was seen with one later?
2. When she goes back to the car to pop the fuel cap, she seems to reach under her left arm/put something under her left arm. (This could be nothing, just something I noticed). She also almost seems to be nursing her arm as she walks back to her car to pop the cap. If she's not nursing her arm (as she does then use this arm to fill up), maybe she put arm like that because she wasn't feeling well.
3. It looks to me like she has a tattoo on her right thigh.
4. She definitely takes her seat belt off when she arrives but I don't think she put it on as she left. Again, could mean nothing. Maybe she put it on as she started driving just out of frame.
