I think the trampoline near the sandpit looks to be in a strange and dangerous position

It looks like it would be easy for a kid to climb on to the trampoline and then jump off and land on something hard like landing on a stone wall or a stone step

It does not look like a sandpit that is set up for kids to play in, more like a pile of sand that is using for making cement which kids usually don't play in because they spread it out.

Gus Lamont's heartbroken grandparents break their silence as the missing little boy's VERY complicated family background is revealed: 'Clashes'

This is a book about Indigenous findings at nearby Tiverton Station where it mentions the significance of several animal tracks of unusually large dimensions.
If Gus wandered away did he meet his demise by one of those animals?

They would be referring to the Mega Fauna day's. History says that the Indigenous were eyewitnesses to the large animals and they told their story via rock carvings.

No it is not a sandpit with sand like the beaches. But for the Australians who have lived in the outback like I have, it's a true sandpit to us...but with just plain old Aussie dirt.

Makes sense to me now why they wanted privacy.

Gus Lamont's heartbroken grandparents break their silence as the missing little boy's VERY complicated family background is revealed: 'Clashes'

From the article:
It is understood Josie Murray lives with Gus's grandmother Shannon Murray, and that the child's mother Jess is also on the property where Gus went missing.

Locals have told the Daily Mail Jess and Gus's father Joshua Lamont also share a one-year-old son, Ronnie, who is also believed to live on the station with his mother.

However Mr Lamont himself lives two hours' drive away, 100km to the west in Belalia North, near Jamestown.

The Daily Mail has been told that while Josh and Jess remained a couple, he does not live on the station because of family clashes with Jess's parent, Josie.

'Josh doesn't think it's safe for the kids to be out there, it's dangerous,' a family friend revealed.

It makes sense that the family wanted privacy, I imagine they were concerned about trolling and vilification because Gus’ grandma Josie is transgender.

Reminding me more and more of William Tyrell :(

BBM : I agree.

What matters in these cases is that the police have all the info & that the family co-operate with the police. The police will involve the public on a needs basis IMO

But that is never good enough for the demanding public who want to know everything STAT & because they don't get that , they immediate suggest nefarious reasons on part of the family. ( CS is a prime example )

I certainly understand why parents & families want to keep their privacy.

Hopefully they all have had time to lock down all their SM

Someone who was one of the searchers and 'knew the country like the back of his hand' said their were no big predators in the area.
If there's no wild things to take the little chap's body away then how on earth can a 4 yr old simply vanish without trace on a flat sheep station?
I can now understand why the family want privacy, but I cannot understand why they don't seem to want anyone out there looking for Gus's body. Can you understand why that would be the case @spiritualdreaming?

I suspect he is being hidden

That’s a deeply emotional and complex situation, and your questions are completely understandable.

When a child disappears without a trace in a remote area like a sheep station, especially one without large predators or dense bushland, it naturally raises confusion and concern. The absence of physical evidence can feel inexplicable (publicly at least), and it’s common for people to search for logical explanations or to feel unsettled when those explanations aren’t forthcoming.

As for the family’s decision not to encourage further searches, there could be several reasons, none of which necessarily imply a lack of care or concern:

- Emotional exhaustion and trauma: Families in these situations often experience overwhelming grief and trauma. The idea of ongoing searches might feel like reopening wounds they’re trying to survive.
- Acceptance of loss: Some families, after extensive searches yield nothing, may come to a place of painful acceptance, believing further searching won’t change the outcome.
- Privacy and protection: Media attention and public speculation can be incredibly invasive. Choosing privacy may be a way to protect themselves from further emotional harm.
- Cultural or spiritual beliefs: In some cases, families may have cultural or spiritual reasons for how they respond to loss, including how they approach recovery efforts.

It’s okay to feel unsettled or to struggle to understand their choices. These situations often leave more questions than answers.

I can't answer why they don't want people to help. If I was in that situation I would want any help I could get, but unfortunately everybody is different.

I think everyone is misinterpreting when Jason said there were no animals to be seen. I believe he means while he was there searching no animals could be seen. There is a possibility wild boars are around that area and they would be the only animal that would leave no evidence. They consume everything.

It's still also a possibility he fell down a very deep old mineshaft. But one would think that all shafts that were found a camera was used to look down them.

Apart from that unfortunately it's either a kidnapping or foul play sadly.

"It is understood Mr Lamont only found out his child was missing when police woke him up at his home, hours after Gus had vanished."

If this is true, as a dad this is horrifying. I can’t imagine being asleep while my four year old was missing and no one called me. It raises a million questions about the timeline for me. Who knew what, when, and why it took police knocking on the door for the father to find out.

Yes I found that rather alarming as well. One would think you'd call dad after calling Police. Definitely sparks more questions, especially if dad didn't think it was safe for the kid's to live there. The family dynamics seem quite intense after reading that article IMO

They reportedly searched for about 3 hours before calling the police. The article mentions that Gus’s parents are still a couple, just living apart. It’s strange the mum didn’t reach out to the dad during those 3 hours..

I take it to mean they dont want 'random people' turning up to help, meaning they are fine with the approved groups still searching.

I think I understand it now….

The grandparents of little Gus are Josie and Shannon Murray.

But Gus’ grandparent Josie Murray is not giving up on finding him, telling the Daily Mail the family is still searching.”

“Josie Murray reportedly lives on the station with Gus’ grandmother Shannon Murray.”
