Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

Does anyone know when the last time someone outside his immediate family saw him yet? Sorry if it’s already been answered.
I haven't seen anything about this. It's a crucial piece of missing information.

Has his dad stated when the last time was that he saw Gus in person? I don't know if it's been reported how frequently Gus got to go into town to see Dad or how often Dad came out to visit Gus and the family at the sheep station. I also wonder about when Gus did go visit Dad at Dad's home, would Dad normally drive out himself and pick him up, or would his mom bring Gus to his dad's house or how was that usually handled?
Given the breakdown in relations between Josh and Josie, it's possible that Josh only sees Gus off the station, or maybe on-station in Josie's absence.

And to think
the little boy was only a few months away from meeting the peers and playing with them in a school chosen by Dad!
(according to DM link I provided earlier)

This is heartbreaking :(

It’s normally one of the first things we find out, I really would like to know, I think that could answer alot of questions.

The police will know (I'd assume so anyway!!) I guess there's no reason for the public to know unless they thought it would help the investigation.

Has anyone seen any mention of Gus's paternal grandparents? I don't think they would be all that old, so good chance they're still living. I wonder if they were a part of Gus's life before his disappearance. Maybe they're not around, but if they are, I'm really surprised that I haven't seen a word about them, but I may have missed it.
Imo there has been no mention (perhaps they adequately told DM to p#ss off, but I doubt that would stop a story)

My hinky meter is currently wobbly.. . nothing feels ‘adequate’ to me, and I don’t know if that’s even the right adjective.

I get there’s disharmony between Josh & a Grandma - but surely circumstances such as this outweigh those differences.

It baffles me that Jess wouldn’t be wanting / needing the support of her reported partner and father of her missing child (+ one ) Similarly it baffles me that Josh isn’t there with her. He’s reported to have searched one night early on, but he’s not stayed around to be of support to Jess or on hand for any bit of information.

Little Gus should be enjoying the blissfully happy & innocent days of childhood. Wherever he is now, my thoughts and prayers are with him in his journey.

I know that there was some discussion about this earlier in the thread, but didn't the police say he had never left the property? I know some people were interpreting that as he had never left on his own or he had never wandered off, but what if he meant he had little never left the property? Maybe no one outside the family has really ever seen him.

That was said but it may have been poorly worded as it was unclear as to whether he had really never left the property or hadn't left it during a particular timescale. I believe it was later clarified that he had never left it by himself.

I doubt that he had never left that property at all. For one thing, his father lives about 100km away on a different station. There were photos shown here on the thread of the father's property, including small children's toys e.g. a bike. JMO but I imagine Gus had visited his dad on that property.

So...
What now?

Searches called off...
No trace of a boy...

No "suspicious circumstances" according to Police.

Ummm....
The very fact a 4-year-old child vanishes is VERY suspicious IMO 😐

So...
Imagine someone is murdered but others say "C'mon! This person vanished, wandered off into the sunset!
Case closed." 😵‍💫

What exactly are the plans now?
Waiting for somebody to find the child by chance?
In x years from now?

Sorry,
but the responsibility of letting a small child staying unsupervised in unsafe surroundings
lies with the adults IMO.

If the child was 7/8 years old,
then it is a different story.

But Gus was ONLY 4!!!

This case is horrendous :(

JMO
