Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

  • #4,281
As the eyes of the public and media return to Yunta, the Mail can also reveal the boy did not live at the station - as had been widely understood - and instead lived with his parents, Jessica Murray and Josh Lamont, and his one-year-old brother Ronnie at an Adelaide home which, according to property records, is in Shannon Murray's name.
A neighbour on the street said the family lived at the address - located 320km south of where Gus vanished without a trace - but also spent a lot of time with Jessica's parents at their outback sheep station.

'I only saw him probably a couple of weeks before he disappeared,' said the neighbour, who did not want to be identified.
'I'd see them go for a walk to the playground up the road with their dogs.
'He was a lovely little boy. I'd say hello as they went past.'
Significantly, police have long refused to comment on the last time Gus was sighted outside Oak Park Station.
The neighbour also shed light on the young family's living arrangements.
'Josh lives there with his missus,' he said of the Adelaide address.
'But I haven't seen her [Jessica] since the little boy went missing,' he added.

Report in the Daily Mail today states that he didn't reside there full time. He actually lived in Adelaide with Josh, Jess & little brother in a house owned by Shannon Murray
You'll need to link that report please because I think you are incorrect. The point of my post is OP's claim re no Gus belongings at Oak Park at the time he went missing . It is an established fact in police statements and msm at the time (Sept 2025) that Gus had been residing at Oak Park with Jess a good part of the time. So moo it seems logically a no brainer he had belongings, clothes etc at that address.

If you or OP can provide an approved source showing otherwise then please post it.

You haven't linked to the DM report you are referencing and that would be useful...but sure, Jess and family probably live in Adelaide now. I don't think her and Ronnie have been at Oak Park for many months since Gus went missing.

But again the OP was talking about Sept 2025 ...IRRC at that time Gus also spent part of his time at another house which JL was renovating for his wife and kids. That project was reportedly abandoned after Gus went missing from memory. I will find that link if need be but it isn't relevant to my question to the OP.

Personally @SouthAussie - I'm confuzzed why the original-post was made, as if to cast shade on Ey bc they're representing one of the grandparents, but for the record, IF I was the copper & this happened to me:

"Constable Barry Purnell was stabbed with such force that the tip of the kitchen knife had to be surgically removed from his face.." - SA brothers jailed for 'savage' cop attack.

I'd be more than slightly peeved that some lowlife decided to use my face to store kitchen-cutlery.

M🐄🐄🐄s.
It was made because it’s relevant, imo. The lawyer was charged with assaulting a police officer - puerile or otherwise, it is highly unusual for an officer of the court.

Additionally, forgive me for being extremely judgmental about people who are suspected to have killed a child. I don’t apologise.

Every decision they make at this juncture should be heavily scrutinised. IMO

Interesting. Confusing though as this is completely different to previous information.

I think it is entirely plausible that JM and the children were staying at 3 different places depending on work routines and farming schedules.

It may be that for periods of time they are at the station so that JM can help her parents with jobs there. We know nothing about what other work she might have and where it is and we know nothing about what work JL has and where it is.

JL could have been spending time between Adelaide and Belalie North due to whatever his usual routine was.

We shouldn’t assume people have 1 permanent residence.

IMO

Edit: fixed typos

Well, no, I never got the impression Gus and his mom and younger brother stayed solely at the homestead where he disappeared. I thought he only did during the busy shearing and work seasons. And that there was some kind of residence belonging to the family further in a city, plus the other place that the dad was fixing up. At least, that is what I recall reading in various articles. I forget which month that the mom and young son joined the dad and got out of the homestead since September?

I've posted a bit from said article and attached a link.

Police are confident that there is no evidence that Gus wandered off,
They do not believe, after their investigations, that Gus was abducted.
Sadly it is leading to foul play from someone close to Gus.
I don't think this supposition of 'foul play from someone close to Gus' will be a new thought to some of the watchers here. Too much of the circumstances relying on the 'said' timings and Gus' activities that day hark back to the statements of one person.

If true, that is a HUGE shift in the few facts we think we know. Can you please link that report?
Can't post a link but just go to Daily Mail Australia & you will find it (free artcile) - top trending as you can imagine. And yes, it throws a light in a whole different angle, hey

IMO - I distinctly remember making a post & stating that here in Australia, seeing someone brandishing a shotgun so menacingly was NOT normal & I got shouted down about it at the time. So I’ll reiterate it again for those in the back - Seeing someone brandishing a shotgun so menacingly is NOT normal here in Australia. MOO
Same, same. I said exactly the same & got howled down. I tried to explain that brandishing a gun in such an irresponsible & aggressive way was enough for serious investigation & possible revocation of licence. It was blatantly aggressive & JM knew exactly what they were doing was threatening.

Well I'm sure you will realize by now that I was not incorrect. You, in fact, are the one with incorrect information
