Is that statement so they look innocent and to stop people giving them a hard time?

Are they innocent?
What are the inconsistencies?
Was it someone else. A local in the area?

Wish we had some information.

Probably their lawyers suggested it would be good PR.

The Advertiser apparently approached both of the grandparents lawyers and the police for comment, as tomorrow Gus will have been missing for 6 months.

Shannon's lawyer said that Shannon remained hopeful that Gus would be found. She is supporting Josie, cooperating through her solicitors, and hopes some info will come to light soon.

They say that they approached Josie's lawyer too - doesn't sound as if they have heard back, as there is no comment published.

(They need to edit their headline, they have referenced the wrong grandparent in the headline. They clearly state in the article that it was Mr Isaccs that made the comment, not Andrew Ey.)

A police spokesperson reiterated that they would continue to investigate until solved, haven't ruled out returning to Oak Park Station in the continuing investigation. No comment on operational aspects, such as if forensic examination of the items taken has been completed.

Crime Stoppers has received 505 calls in relation to Gus' disapperance.

The Advertiser has now corrected their headline for this article, and replaced the name Josie with Shannon:-

Criminologist, former New South Wales detective Vincent Hurley, said the police probe into his disappearance “may take years” to reach an outcome.

“I honestly believe there is still hope,”
Dr Hurley said.
“The fact that the police are still going out there, the fact that they are still following up leads.

“They would not be going out there for no reason at all.

“The police will continually follow up this until it’s solved. It might take one, it might take three, it might take five years but eventually someone will be held to account.”

"Gus Lamont vanished on September 27.

Police task force investigation continues.

Gus Lamont's grandmother speaks out on
the six-month anniversary
of the little boy's disappearance.

Former NSW detective-turned-criminologist Vincent Hurley warned
the investigation
'may take years' to reach a conclusion.

'The fact that the police are still going out there,
the fact that they are still following up leads.
They would not be going out there for no reason at all'
he said.

Do we know if both grandparents have been brought in for questioning? I’m not in Australia so I don’t know what you’d call it or if it’s done, but I mean an official interview under caution at a police station type of thing.
All we really heard was someone was no longer cooperating. Which many assumed meant that they were no longer answering questions. imo

And from the most recent statement from the grandmother's attorneys, I'd say it was Josie that was no longer being cooperative. The attorney had not replied to the question whereas Shannon's attorney did give a typical PR reply.

So will the public be told any details of the timeline ?
The secrecy is really getting on my nerves .

Sick of speculating but can’t help myself . I have no idea what happened but at times wonder if Josie took Gus from the sandpit unbeknownst to Shannon and Jess.

Or is the whole sandpit story a lie to cover up something that happened earlier?

Round and round it goes …

And then mention was made of a second person not co-operating, which was assumed to be the other grandparent.

I wish they could bring them in and question them under caution. How could someone ‘not cooperate’ in the search for their grandchild?

I think the latter - that the sandpit was a cover up story to give the ‘he’s wandered off’ story a bit of a time interval in which Gus could have wandered a reasonable distance from the homestead while not implying he hadn’t been checked for too long a period of time, which would have been negligent.

The wording makes it seem as if Josie is in the wrong……..IMO. I think there is more meaning behind this statement.

Possibly, or maybe it’s just a statement of solidarity showing they’re still together and giving each other emotional support at this time.
