Australia Australia - Amesha Rajapakse, 31, Westmead, NSW, 26 Aug 2014

I understand. But why is there no photo of Amesha being released at all? If it was a murder, I imagine the police would seek eye witness accounts and require public assistance in solving it?

The police would probably be relying on the family to give them a photo. But the family did not even publish a photo with the obituary. I guess it is possible that the family are claiming that there are no photos of Amesha? Or are just refusing on whatever grounds? They evidently do not want one published for some reason of their own. And it is not as if the police can force them to hand over a photo.

I heard that when police were door knocking around the 500 or so units in that complex, they were showing a photo of Amesha, to try to establish if anyone had seen or knew her. I think one of the people living in that complex later joined this thread and confirmed this (however had missed out on seeing the photo for some reason). That is the only mention I have come across in relation to a photo.

Hi Everyone

Heard from a reliable source that this girl seem to be "not normal" when met in person. For an example she smiles in an awkward way during a conversation at inappropriate times.

Please don't judge me based on this comment as I am only stating what I heard

Thanks for that piece of information about Amesha, HappyFeet.

I felt very sad reading that though. 'Not normal' as in she had a psychiatric condition? Are those the exact words they used when they told you about her? Maybe she was suffering from mental illness. We don't know for sure.

I also heard from a reliable source that Amesha was mentally fit, happy and was someone who regularly observed Sil *a Buddhist practice of observing the five precepts, meditation etc once a month* at the Lankarama Buddhist temple in Sydney. If she was 'not normal', I can't imagine someone like her observing Sil. It takes a great amount of discipline both mentally and physically to observe Sil.

So who/what do we believe?

I guess we will never know the truth about Amesha. And that is sadder than what happened to her. Honestly it's very disturbing that there's nothing at all about her in the news. The silence is too painful for me personally, and I didn't even know her.

Sorry for the late reply Keshi.. The actual words that they used were (In Sinhalese language) "Eya poddak amuthuy lu.. katha karana kota amuthu widihata hinawena walu"

A friend of mine suffers from depression and has suicidal thoughts from time to time. But she is a graduate too. I think a person suffering from depression can lead a seemingly normal life without anyone other than the closest to you realising it. My friend also observes sil, goes to work and socialize but only the ones closest to her know the truth

I think Amesha suffered from depression and it took control of her at the end

Its so tragic...

Well, many months later and there's no new information whatesoever on Amesha's case, nothing since 30 Aug, 2014. No news about the Task Force, none regarding the autopsy, just nothing. Which is really strange, especially considering how scared women were in the area.

Seems they have another Taskforce, another reason to be scared - another woman of Asian (Indian this time) origin has been murdered in Westmead/Parramatta area. Like Amesha, she was an IT worker. And she too was killed close to home.

Coincidence?

As for Amesha - I am still not assuming suicide, until I hear a verdict from the cops. Her death scene just does not add up at all in my mind, from what we know via the media.

And regarding the "stuck upright in mud" thing - there's not ONE Aussie paper that has reported this detail. And the reports I found from overseas contained several errors, besides, so I'm not banking on this being a fact -- until I hear from our own msm, or at least an updated story.

Me, barely know her brother. which his best buddy is my friend , they are close friends, more like brothers.
and according to my friend Amesha is the sweetest person which he met. she doesn't care who you are, she gifted with her smile and kind heart .
so guys its not mental situation or disorder. she is more like a mother, care taker to his brother. she got nothing to worry, her life was very simple
every one who she knows talk about her with tears.

may her soul rest in peace
