Such a sad case. Who was it that reported seeing Amesha in the foyer pacing back and forth? The building manager? Is there CCTV of this or is it only assumed that Amesha was in the foyer because the manager said so? I have a strong feeling that someone in that building knows exactly what happened to Amesha that night. They probably have already distanced themselves from the area or soon will.

Yes, the building manager reported having seen Amesha pace back and forth four or five times from front to back of foyer. Not clear whether he witnessed this as she was doing it, and/or as a result of retrospectively viewing cctv images. So, yes, there is cctv image of this - it has repeatedly been referred to in media reports.

Yeah well. I'm still swimming against the current - I don't think it was suicide. And we just don't have enough details to know what her cause of death truly was, even. There's a bunch of possible reasons why the story is quiet -- there's not a ton of family and friends speaking in outrage and grief to the media, for one. There's flat out obvious murders that are all but ignored in the press.

But yeah, something is not sitting right with me, so won't be joining the suicide consensus.

BWI -- thank you for that beautiful post. It truly deserves to be repeated in a thread of its own, so more members might read it.

Ausgirl I firmly agree now! . I swore the next time I had to go to Westmead hospital I would take some photos for us. The complex is newish and massive but it looked a but slummy to me with lots of clothes drying on nearly every balcony. I drove down to the back fence and there were several men loitering and I was hesitant of getting out of my car. I got out and felt many eyes on me, it was a weird feeling. I only felt safe to take 3 quick photos. I stood at the shoulder height colourbond fence and held my iPhone up and hoped for the best. I was happy or get back into my car.
I felt Amesha there & I felt really creepy. I also believe I saw her brother (similar car in MSM) pacing & talking on mobile. I'll try to upload the photos.
The last one is the Coles store about 1 kilometre down a dark lonely road and then across a busy road.

Great clicks there TGY. Sad and eerie though :( Poor Amesha, wish someone was there to save her from this tragic fate.

Here is the latest (dated 3rd Sept) on Amesha from a popular Sri Lankan newspaper. Interesting new facts about her in it. It states she was employed, she joined the complex gym 2 weeks ago, that police tracked her on CCTV footage in the vicinity of the complex 'hours' after she left home, and that her body was found 'stuck' in the lagoon. This btw is exactly what another Sinhalese newspaper stated how Amesha was found - it stated she was found "stuck in mud" in the abandoned creek in "standing position" (upright). Note: Not drowned in water. And that the paramedics had tried to resuscitate her to no avail.

I find it hard to understand how she ended up in standing position in the mud unless she fell or jumped in to mud, or accidentally ran/walked in to mud and couldn't save herself?

I can only see that it says "lying in a creek". I did only have 2 hours sleep last night though :/

That's ok. I guess you only read the caption of the article. If you read the full article it says "her dead body was found stuck in a large lagoon". The same thing was said in Sinhalese in another article a day after her death, which stated her body was found "stuck in mud".

I meant I can't see the part about being upright.
Never mind. I see that you meant that was in another article.

they had also observed that 2 weeks previously she had obtained membership for the swimming pool and the gym as well.. from Keshi's link above.

She wouldnt need membership for the pool and gym isnt that part of living in the Estate? I thought she asked about using the gym.

The 31-year-old woman had inquired only two weeks ago about access to the gym and swimming pool of the up-market block, which has two-bedroom units renting for more than $1000 a week.

From what I could see is the only way Amesha got over a chin high colourbond fence (I'm 5'5") is to step onto a concrete garden bed and then lift herself another 5' over and then would have fallen to the ground on the other side which could have been a 6-7' drop as that appeared to be raised for the concrete carpark and that would have hurt horribly. On tippy toes I could see the creek. From there she could have rolled another 2-3 metres down into the creek. Everything else appeared to have 7' cyclone fencing off the train tracks. If Amesha wanted to suicide all she needed to somehow get to the train tracks. The creek was NOT a perfect place to suicide and definitely not to meet a lover.
The car park appeared to be a meeting place for a chat and a smoke for 5-6 men when I was there. I also noticed there was another side entrance door which could have been where the CCTV cameras picked her up.
Oh bugger!! I didn't look for any cameras overlooking the car park! OK next time.

The first photo I posted shows how high the cream fence is when I held the camera over my head to take the shot.

Standing upright. It might mean she did hang herself from a tree.

It was spooky thinking I could have been standing were Amesha was last and with the men silently watching, wondering what I was thinking of doing. Suddenly a loud train whizzed past which scared the tripe out of me! :o

Although it was raining that night maybe Amesha was waiting for the smokers to leave so she could suicide.
JMOO & ramblings.

Not sure how every complex-gym operates. Maybe you still need to be obtain membership for security reasons?

I can't find the Sinhalese article that first stated she was 'stuck in mud' and was in upright position. I will try to find it today.

Not sure how it happened or what exactly happened. The lack of information by Police over here is really disappointing. Maybe they are still doing the investigation. Sooner or later, I think we will find out what really happened to this girl. Hopefully.

Does the place look or feel like a dodgy place? I mean did it look like an unsafe place for a woman to be walking around at night? Would be interesting to know what other CCTV footage Police found of Amesha in this area on that night. Looks like they have it but aren't releasing it to the public just yet.

Also didn't Police first say that there were no injuries on her body? So does that mean Amesha did not jump over the wall? Or fall.

Do we know what is right in Amesha's case? All we have is the information that has been provided to us in articles. I don't think anyone knows what is 'right' yet. IMO

We will probably never know.

I was in the car park approx 3pm and I'm not easily spooked but if I were there at night in that back carpark with high fences and several men suddenly silenced and just watching me I would be very uncomfortable.
It is not sinister that anyone congregate and chat over a cigarette outdoors and it seemed 100's of balconies overlooking the car park but I think it would feel even worse at night. I don't know how well the carpark would be lit but, I can't explain, it felt ominous.
Maybe it was me standing at that very garden bed that Amesha either jumped or was thrown over but once in the creek it would be terrifying and very hard to get out. JMHO.

If Amesha had screamed that night I'm sure someone could have heard her from one of those balconies even over the heavy rain.

I have thought about the standing upright in the mud scenario - and the possibilities of her dying because of it, still don''t add up or make sense.

For her to be standing upright deceased in the mud would have to be 3 foot deep or more, or past her waist.
If that was so - why did no one hear her scream for help?
Or she had fallen onto something (like metal) which had fatally wounded her, and allowed her body to either be in an upright position.
She had been dropped from a height vertically causing her death -
or a bad English translation - it may have meant to have been 'lying' in the mud.

I have not thought that Amesha's death was a suicide - and the lack of msm on this doesn't convince me either.

TGY -- you're so awesome.

Thank you so much
for going there and getting pics. Just be careful, hey. I hope you're not going alone!
