I hope they got the right guys because I felt a deep sense of pleasure seeing them grabbed and dragged like they probably did with poor Chris.

Both living in some of Sydney’s best middle class family suburbs, in the Hills district. Neither look like experienced crims. Sadly, their inexperience resulted in the loss of life of an innocent man. If they’re guilty, I hope they rot in hell.

No kidding. If you’re going to outsource your dirty work, verify their resume first and get good personal references.

Well done NSW Police. Great to see impressive action. I hope this serves as a reminder for the wannabe crims, technology is improving police outcomes. And remember, you too could be spread across the news looking like morons. The Police certainly didn’t hide embarrassing images. I bet they’re enjoying that aspect of a successful case.
All due respect for family and friends, I hoped they would let the poor man go, as soon as they realised he was the wrong target. Very very sad outcome.

I thought that was a really nice touch. They don't always release this type of body cam footage, but I think the taskforce did this for a reason, for the community to see them been walked to their fate. I think they are going to be afraid of who's on the inside of the prison rather than the duration of their sentence if found guilty.

BBM: Their actions confirm the same
1. Turn up to the kidnapping location, CCTV -1 wearing a high Vis shirt, kidnap the wrong person.......oops
2. Take victim to abandoned house, leaving forensic evidence ........fail
3. Send videos to the family of the intended kidnapping ( obviously not aware that they have already stuffed up ) , who contact police........... It's getting bad now
4. Leave car on a street for ? days & than go back & try & torch it, failing miserably & leaving more forensic evidence & tying you to the house & victim ( bit of a dead give away a roll of mostly unburnt carpet from the house) ............. huge mistake, massive fail
5. Dump the body in the worst spot possible.........
They probably still have the devices they filmed the victim on & sent messages etc too
Master criminals they are not, but they still were capable of allegedly ending a innocent 85yr old man's life.
Throw away the keys

I do feel a little sorry for 'Mr Baggy Pants" man's family/freind and young children having to witness that though.
Hopefully it will keep them on the straight and narrow.

“We can now confirm that the remains that were located yesterday were in fact Mr. Bagsharian.” Mr Marks said.
Detective seized electronic devices, clothing and other items linking the hostage to the kidnapping and murder of Mr Bagsharian at another address in Lake Macquarie.
Mr Marks said police were still looking for more people responsible for Mr Bagsharian’s death and allege others are involved.
He said police followed a trail left behind by the alleged kidnappers since February 8 and had enough evidence to arrest the two men on Wednesday.
“After the human remains were found yesterday … we followed the trial, there was canvassing of CCTV and vehicles were identified,” Mr Marks said.
“That’s how we came to identify the two persons that were arrested today.
“We suggest one of the persons that was arrested today travelled up to Lake Macquarie after the offence and spoke to somebody there.
“As a result of that, we seized two electronic devices from persons up at that address in Lake Macquarie.”
Mr Marks said the pair still lived with their parents – who were “shocked” when police knocked on their door.

In a statement issued via NSW Police, Mr Baghsarian’s family said: “We welcome the news of the recent arrests in relation to the kidnapping of our father and grandfather”.
“As we continue attempting to come to terms with this incident, we ask that media respect our privacy,” they said.

Two men set to face kidnapping and murder charges after the body of an 85-year-old grandfather was found in bushland in Sydney’s north have been named.
The Daily Telegraph has identified Gerard Andrews, 29 and Daniel Stevens, 24, as the pair arrested on Wednesday over the death of Chris Baghsarian, 85, who was snatched from his North Ryde home earlier this month.

“We allege … these men participated in a joint criminal enterprise with other persons to kidnap Mr Bagsharian, and ultimately, where he was held hostage and where he came to his death.”

The alleged killers of innocent grandfather Chris Baghsarian had next to no criminal history and come from a middle-class upbringing in northwest Sydney.
But Gerard Andrews, 29, and Daniel Stevens, 24, are now facing charges including murder over one of the most shocking crimes the city has ever seen, following dramatic arrests that ended with Andrews’ pants around his ankles.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal that in the days after allegedly being involved in Baghsarian’s kidnapping and murder, Andrews drove up to Lake Macquarie, an hour-and-a-half north of Sydney, to visit his ex-girlfriend.
Police are believed to have had an eye on Andrews and Stevens as part of their investigations from just a few days after the kidnapping.

My heart breaks for Mr Baghsarian, and for his loved ones. He deserved to live his later years in peace & happiness, not to be terrorised, traumatised and murdered by individuals who IMO have no right to call themselves human beings.
What on earth led the 2 young men who are under arrest, to get involved in such horrific behaviour !
‘Hitmen for Hire’ … seriously.
Initial reports seem to indicate that they came from good families - I can’t begin to imagine how their parents must be feeling ! (And I’m intrigued by the fact that one of them travelled to Port Macquarie to visit his ex … what was going on in his mind )
JMHO - to me they look like they would struggle to get a brain between the two of them ! … hence their mistakes. But no way are they the masterminds. .. as I said ‘.hitmen for hire’.
And they’ve made such a hash of it and alerted the world to the fact that there was / is a planned attack on someone else, that I doubt they’ll collect their payment ! In fact I’m surprised they are still alive - the raids this morning may have extended their lives a bit, but the masterminds will have them marked.
* it’s important at this stage that I remind myself that they have not yet been Charged ( to best of my knowledge) which would indicate 1) that a magistrate has approved an extension to the period of detaineeship without charge
Or
2) that they are voluntarily assisting police - even 1/2 a brain would imo suggest this be their best course of action, if guaranteed witness protection.
All just my opinion.
I’m horrified at the total disregard and disrespect for another person, let alone for a harmless and defenceless senior citizen . This behaviour cannot be tolerated in our country.
