Maybe he was into gambling and living the high life on his trips away from home.

I would not be surprised if he were a gambler.

... "Police will allege he engaged in affairs with women in countries such as the US, Italy, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, Guam, Japan, New Zealand and every state and territory in Australia except South Australia and Tasmania."

How does it sound to you? To me, like a dog on the walk that needs to mark its "territory" wherever you take it. It's not unhappy marriage. It's either sex addiction or simply incredibly compulsive behavior.

I wonder why murderous pilots take up beekeeping??

“In the months after he murdered Carol Clay, Greg Lynn took up beekeeping. And a bad reaction to a sting was exactly what police needed to ground the ex-Jetstar pilot.”

“Mr Crawford's Airbnb profile, on the listing, says he was born in the 70s, is an amateur beekeeper and is obsessed with music and art. His most useless skill is juggling.

Juggling? Juggling women. Seems to have made a second career of it. Perhaps he got found out.

Frances knew about his infidelity at the time of the "incident" at the property in July 2023 ... the incident where Frances then applied for a DVO - which was denied - and instead they went to marriage counselling.

I would imagine that after that "incident" she would have had a heightened awareness of signs that he was still involved in marriage-damaging antics.

Patients of slain psychologist Frances Crawford donating to fundraiser

“Patients of psychologist and mother Frances Crawford are donating to a fund to help the 49-year-old’s children rebuild their lives after she was allegedly murdered by her husband.

In a statement issued Thursday, Ms Duffy said patients of Ms Crawford’s had been donating.

“We have been approached by past and current clients of Frances, reaching out to send their emotional and financial support to her children ... all asking what can they do to help raise funds for her grieving kids” Ms Day said.

“Donations are already helping the children with legal fees and professional support as they mourn the loss of their mother.”

There is money to be made in beekeeping. My niece's ex keeps bees as a sideline, and sells the honey to Capilano. He has done this for years. In addition to having a fulltime job.
People don't realise it, but the companies who sell honey in our shops buy (at least some of) their honey from individual beekeepers.

There is not a lot to do, at least not very often. Move the hives every so often so the bees have flowers to feed on. The bees do all the work. Then extract the honey and sell it.

Interesting, I wonder if FC’s orders were to keep the beekeeping under control, keep the lawns perfect, house immaculate, work a full time job and possibly she wasn’t doing it up to SQNLDR RC’s standards. IMO

There was an article published recently (excerpts from a book being released on 29th Oct, about former-pilot-now-convicted-felon Greg Lynn ..... "Dead of Night: A Mysterious Disappearance, a Brazen Murderer and the Police Who Hunted Him Down by Greg Haddrick") that states among the police surveillance in Lynn's home they saw that he made checklists every day. He wrote out his intended movements, actions, and even conversations.

He would spend the day carrying out his list, stick to his list, and make sure everyone else in the house stuck to theirs as well.

Maybe that is something that other pilots do, too? Greg Lynn got his pilot training with the RAAF.

I would hate to be in a relationship where I was under the command of my husband or partner, with them directing my every move.

Re Beekeeping, I remember a few years ago when it became a trendy hobby.
In my opinion the sort of hobby where you could one up your friends.

And I see there is a phrase of men being of beekeeping age.

Beekeeping age is typically used to describe a man who is in his 40s or 50s who is thought to be physically attractive, mature, and/or charismatic. In this context, beekeeping age is used to refer to a man who might also be described as a silver fox or DILF.

Robert John Crawford fronts court charged with wife Frances Crawford’s murder after ride-on mower incident

Police could face “complications” on the gathering of evidence in the case of a man charged with the murder of his wife, who was found dead near a ride-on mower, a court has been told.

On Friday, lawyer Daniel Boddice appeared on Mr McGuinness’ behalf and asked for a further adjournment until November 1.

The court was told police were seeking a date in February next year for the brief of evidence to be prepared.

“The arresting officer is on leave in December and January,” a police prosecutor told the court.

“I’ve made inquiries as to whether there are other officers who can compile it while the officer is on leave.”

Mr Boddice said there were “concerns” about the delay in the matter which would be further raised by Mr McGuinness at the next appearance.”

Robert Crawford, 46, court mention for murder charge over death of wife Frances on Lockyer Valley property

“The Australian Defence Force has been made aware of Crawford’s murder charge.

It is ADF practice to suspend a member from service, immediately cancelling the member’s access to Defence bases and ICT systems, if they are facing serious allegations and/or charges.”

What a tremendous security risk he was/is. A sitting duck for honey traps, a walking advertisement for contact-me -for info-during-pillow -talk, a bloke with no self control, much less self respect. The list of ladies shows locations of mainly what might be termed allies, but who knows?.. That might be the tip of the iceberg.

Military men are prime targets for espionage and if money is thrown in the mix, ...... (especially those of a reasonably high rank, which he is, currently, but not for much longer, once the inevitable court-martial gets underway. ) Goodbye SQ.L and busted down to aircraftsman, then an exit.

I wonder if the army has also suspended his pay.
Perhaps that's why the house was rented out ?

I am not sure if they would/could have done that prior to him being charged and held in custody. But once he has been in custody for more than 7 days, it seems that he can lose his salary (if he is salaried) or lose a good chunk of his pay (if he gets an hourly rate).

Though it seems that the Chief of Defence Intelligence can vary the regulations.

Lots to weed through over several defence.gov.au pages, but these are a couple of small excerpts ...

The CDF or the Chief of Defence Intelligence may specify a member to whom this Part does not apply for a particular period or activity.

A member's salary, DFRT allowances and Language allowance are forfeited to the Commonwealth during a period of imprisonment or custody.

Part 7: Imprisonment, detention and custody within Australia

I am sure that I read in an article that Crawford told one of the people who stayed as an Air BnB renter that he was working part time. I just can't find the link now.

And this article says (paraphrased) that it is defence force practise to suspend a member from service if they are facing serious allegations and/or charges. Including suspension of access to defence bases and ICT (information and communications technologies) systems.

ETA: No, it was his LinkedIn profile that said he was working part time.
Mr Crawford has removed his LinkedIn profile. I only looked at it yesterday, and noted that it said he was working part-time. I should have taken a screen shot.

I'd like to think the RAAF took the keys to the C27j Spartan off him. by now. At least. And changed all the locks, too.
