Let's face it guys, the celebrity involved is a bit of a desperado .. I'm not impressed with either connection.
Respectfully snipped by me, this stood out to me...what if this is all one big publicity stunt??? Maybe all publicity is good publicity...JMO
At first I thought for sure it was her husband in a GBC type incident...then the stepson throws his hat into the ring with an elaborate as yet unproven scandal, I would have thought after 6 weeks, some new developments would have come to light...the longer it gets, the more I believe this was planned by her...again JMO
I hope Karen is alive and well but in saying that if she is she is going to have a big fat bill for all the resources ect that have gone into this

Exactly, give me chadstone any day . What celeb would even thing of schlepping out the these suburbs ? To all that aren't familiar with Melbourne, unless your a local you would not go there.
I don't want to come across as snobby but broad meadows and Taylor's lakes are not exactly prime shopping spots. Particularly broad meadows ! More likely a place to go and buy your moccasins. The whole media spin on them living the life in there million dollar mansion, it's not an affluent area at all, McMansions are a dime a dozen in that area
Who walks away from a heated argument?
The quietly spoken one or the go-getter?
Who fears the neighbours might hear, the quietly spoken one or the aggressor who stands their ground?
I'm thinking the quieter personality would walk away to keep the peace.
Just some thoughts.
Well I am not stating it as a certainty, of all the cases I follow along I feel like this is the one where all the possibilities are still on the table. If she is the worst of what's been suggested I am still invested in her safe return, no one deserves to meet a violent end
Did the police check the area with cadaver dogs to see which way Karen went or for any traces of her DNA?
Those doggies could show where her DNA stopped (got into a car) dragged towards the river or simply where she walked.
Uggh...Chaddy!!! No thanks...way too big
Seriously though...I get your point. Good old Broady...it's not that bad.
I know this wasn't to me, but I'm chiming in anyway LOL This is also part of what forms an impression in my mind. I am very familiar with all these areas, I have grown up in the area and have been to both shopping centres countless times, and I have always known people living in Avondale Heights. I will say though that I have never driven through that pocket of Avondale Heights and had no idea about the views or the scale of the homes until I went for a little looksee recently. So I had taken the commentary about the house as hyperbole because house prices are super crazy but no, it does actually look pretty swishy compared to what's around it.
But the fact is, if you live in the posh part of Avondale Heights ... you still live in Avondale Heights. You are living among people whose parents were in all likelihood blue collar workers, if the people themselves are not now. It ain't even Moonee Ponds poshness, forget about the leafy greef eastern suburbs. If you cannot pay your shop rent but are buying yourself and your daughter shoes and bags and purses that cost several hundreds of dollars, there is some kind of disconnect there, in general the people around you are not wearing that stuff, not in Avondale Heights, not at Watergardens and certainly not in Broadmeadows.
A question for the locals. Is the tavern near the bridge an easy walk from Karen's place and if so, how long would it take?
Just jumping off your post, Makara.
I was also wondering what the tavern's hours of business are. And are they a 'pokies' venue?
Is anyone able to supply the name of the tavern, and I can look for the info myself.

It would be a nice easy walk on flat trail after she got down the enbankment at the back of her house...
Ummm 40 minutes tops at a guess.....Ive never actually walked from hers to there....so yeah..guesstamation..
Thanks Puggle. Is there a front way, i.e. other than walking along the bank of the river. If say for example Karen left her house by the garage at the front of the house, is it possible to walk to the tavern. Perhaps just to sit down and cool off for a while or even to meet someone there?
I was wondering about cadaver dogs the other day. I looked through a whole bunch of 'searching for Karen' articles. Could not see any reference to dogs or pics of any. Just police and SES.
I may have missed something. :dunno:
But it did make me wonder why they had not brought the dogs to search.
These locations are not middle class, they are purpose built shopping centres that service the local suburbs.I was wondering about the demographic of the shop locations, so I appreciate you stating this opinion.
Broadmeadows shop is closed now, so only Taylor's Lake remains open (I think).
Seems as though shaky business decisions may have been made for high-end shops in more middle class locales? .. possibly to keep shop rental expenses low.
