With the little info we've been given I'm still wavering between scenario's at this stage. I think everything is still in play - foul play, suicide and voluntary missing.

Totally agree, sleep, and I think that this is the biggest problem at the moment, the lack of info. At one point Police said they were close to a breakthrough, then, nothing. AR makes accusations on SM, nobody comes out to refute. Police claim they are taking allegations against KR seriously and looking into it, then nothing. I suppose there must be a method to the lack of info coming out, or not coming out, but I would have thought it best to get as much out there to get public assistance. Maybe the authorities are taking another tact as what they have done so far has yielded very little. The last MSM piece on ACA, the Police claimed they were making progress. I don't know maybe I'm just ranting, maybe Police have someone in their sights and don't want to spook them. So much of this case just don't make sense and after over six weeks one would think there would be one or two solid leads.

So I answered your rhetorical question with one of my own :floorlaugh: (See, Puggs, I can do it too)

I know the feeling, Makara. Sometimes I take a leaf out of Edward de Bono's book 'Lateral Thinking' (an oldie but a goodie) and think of the characteristics of butter, for example; it's yellow, its shape, etc. It gives the mind a chance to process information and throw up the answers to your questions - usually at the most surprising and inopportune times.

BBM: Yep, it's usually when I'm asleep and suddenly wake up with a 'Bingo moment' in the early hours of the morning. :banghead:

ETA: It's never been about butter though. :giggle:

Karen wouldn't have made a fraudulent claim, the person/business making the claim would be in trouble if it's proved that it was a set up to purposely make the claim. Karen could be charged as accessory I suppose.

lol - I did say it was a long shot :blushing:
Fraud is obtaining a benefit by deception. If Karen faked her disappearance for the purpose of a false insurance claim and partook of the benefits, it wouldn't matter that she wasn't the actual claimant--she'd still be committing fraud. (I'm not a lawyer, however.)

The lack of info is just the way the Police work, they like to keep it close to their chests - without MSM there would be much less that we know.

Compared to some cases, we have more info than usual. Look at William Tyrrell, missing almost 2 years and what the public has been told is minimal.

True - but she wouldn't be partaking in the benefits - the business would. How they distributed/used the money is another question.

To put this in a nutshell, who would benefit from Karen disappearing and/or being deceased?

Who had the motive, means and opportunity to murder Karen?

1) hatred?
2) revenge?
3) life insurance?
4) love interest?
5) ?

All the talk about he debt, the heated argument over money, the marriage being a fake keeps taking me back to something like life insurance or the like.

Many debts are null and void if the person dies. Could that also apply to the mortgage?

Who is champing on the bit waiting for a body to be found?

What a bloody mess up. This has me beat!

Usually when things go quiet, and we've seen this many times here on the various threads, it is a good indication that the police don't require the public's help at this stage. The police use MSM to their advantage in any investigation but they are not obliged to release everything they know. IMO when things are quiet on the MSM front, it's a good sign. I don't know about anyone else, but when this happens I'm expecting and constantly looking for the one headline - ARREST.

Would be such a shame if this went the way of the William Tyrell case, such a sad case that one.

CRIMES ACT 1958 - SECT 81
Obtaining property by deception

S. 81(1) amended by Nos 9576 s. 11(1), 49/1991 s. 119(1)
(Sch. 2 item 40), 48/1997
s. 60(1)(Sch. 1 item 59).

(1) A person who by any deception dishonestly obtains property belonging to another, with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to level 5 imprisonment (10 years maximum).

(2) For purposes of this section a person is to be treated as obtaining property if he obtains ownership, possession or control of it, and "obtain" includes obtaining for another or enabling another to obtain or to retain.

There's also s.82, "Obtaining financial advantage by deception".

She meant the shopping centers and they really aren't though ..

It's not Toorak. People have money yes, but it's still west side - aka not fancy pants. Which is the way I like it! Lol!

WTF?
I'm totally bewildered now. Why, after all the venom that's been sprayed.
Um, is there (emotional) blackmail happening now?

Is this due to another AR FB rant?

Maybe it's directed at his ex?

We don't know what went on behind closed doors in the days/weeks leading up to KR's disappearance.

Just adding this to the mix: Perhaps KR's disappearance had less to do with financial concerns (she'd been there and done that for years) and more to do with dissatisfaction with her marriage?

Discussions/arguments about KR *allegedly* wishing to end the marriage? How to uphold family image? How to tell family and friends? Timing - waiting till after the 21st? How to deal with the aftermath of AR's alleged phone call to KR?

Sometimes the most outwardly benign people crack when faced with the real possibility of their partner leaving.

Motive - Crime of passion.
Benefit - "If I can't have you, no one will". Fear of abandonment.
Opportunity - Being present.

All IMO as just another theory.

I swung past the boutique this morning. There was a lady in one change room and that was about it. I could confidently say that KR would not be wearing the black active wear to her shop. A well groomed lady was the only assistant. Warrant Brands appeared on the VA VA VOOM label. The most expensive label was Adrianna Papell ranging between $200 - $400. This boutique certainly did not look as opulent as the one shown up thread. There also appeared to be limited stock
