Steve's post, quoted in part;

Thread #4, post @622.

I am a cousin of Karen's (Karen's mother and my father were brother & sister) and while I didn't know Karen closely as when your dad has 8 siblings you can imagine the total
number of cousins so it's hard to know all of them that well. I was close to her mother when I was young as there was only 18 months in age difference between her and my dad
and she used to look after me as a child (babysitting etc). When my aunty (Karen's mums sister) was diagnosed with a life threatening disease a few years back Karen's mother
flew home to NZ to nurse her and be there with her for 6 weeks giving her total support and we reconnected during this time. She then returned back a few months later and spent
a number of weeks with her sister again.

This whole shoe thing is so meta - I bet The Australian got the idea to write about the shoes from reading here, it was a pretty hollow piece but it is something to write about that isn't speculation on a specific suspect. In turn we are now we are re-discussing the shoes!! I think there is a good chance Sarah knows what her mum's main shoes are and if they are all accounted for this will be a niggling doubt for her.

I feel for Karen's brother, I think he is in a similar situation to Sarah in that whilst Borce looks good for this from the outside, it really is hard for them to believe it could be him.

Someone asked about cadaver dogs. I don't think they are used as much here but I could be wrong. I looked up about the dog squad and they ae not mentioned http://www.police.vic.gov.au/content.asp?Document_ID=171 (the dog squad headquarters are not far from the key locations in this case).

Im with you on this one..... it seems the media have picked up a train of thought of interest based on things discussed here.....and decided to turn it into a story.

It happened not long back... same thing.......cant remember what we were discussing as a group...but low and behold it formed the next print media offering.....

They have nothing is my guess...... vic police are keeping things close to home....media are simply stretching to make news for the simple sake of it.

Wondering if this unusually heavy spring rain across the State will unearth, reveal, what has been hidden!

Agree Itsapuzzle. BR would be thinking that himself IMHO.

Good call, yes it would certainly alter the landscape a bit.

That fuel gauge story is a hinky as they come - you r not going to fix electronics by hitting a bump. These are not devices that fail and work miraculously after a bang they fail end of story!

Nice to see you Liaden. I was wondering how long you could resist before joining in ;)

Lurking in stealth mode, my dearest wewillgetyou! But I have to say this case is sounding more like GBC every day. That poor girl (Sarah), she is nothing more than a pawn in this situation just like Allison's kids and family! Probably knows things she is scared to tell the police - so has retreated to a safer place for her own sanity and protection.

And yes 'lets not talk to the police' is always the best idea. Like GBC says - I am looking after my family..... We know the police always talk badly about the family and are always point the finger at the MOST innocent people. Sweet Clover - these people !!! IMHO The cops are just waiting for sir husband to make a simple mistake.

Hey Lovely, great to see you here. Now all we need is the rest of the 'team', aka Doc Watson and Alioop. :great: We'd have this case solved in no time! :floorlaugh:

I thought the same but apparently if the float indicator in the fuel tank is stuck driving over bumps can unstick it. I read this on a few internet forums.
I still doubt the credibility of this faulty fuel gauge being the reason BR took the car out that day.... I am sure there are plenty of speed bumps close to home he could have used instead.

Oh no ! I was joking lol
I'm not going to any trial. We've got to get an arrest yet anyway.

KR was supposedly last seen at 10am by BR
BR supposeldy returns home by 12noon (this was confirmed by police was it?)

BR reported seeing KR at 10am, wonder if there might have been breakfast dishes . SRs, KR's, Br's to indicate if an argument occurred while having breakfast, after having breakfast? Dont think anyone would have been in the mood to wash up, KR needed to clear her head and go for a walk. Im sure there's a pattern with breakfast rituals that SR would be able to pass on to investigators.
So breakfast dishes or at least a cuppa of some sort could hold a clue , if there werent any, or, not the same amount maybe something happenened quite early.

Also could police have searched Barmah b/c there was also a ping that we havent been told about.
Or did BR's mobile phone history reveal something to indicate that this area was visited not that long ago. Eyeing off potential disposal sites. OR possibly someone BR visited in the area on the day, or not long ago for some reason. We really don't know what time he was back at Avondale Heights.

Brilliant thinking about the breakfast dishes, especially Karen's morning coffee cup.

Gripping article thanks.

Sad but educative article.
As per the article, $5k for a murder and twice more to ensure the body is never found.
While this was probably the cost at the time of ACs murder, I wonder what the current cost is for the latter.

Hey Westside-Sleuth - thanks for the welcome, I have spent many hours on websleuths with the GBC case, so I am familiar with a few of the regulars.
