Might be arrogrant of me, but the facebook find leads me to believe that his article is from here. That one wasn't the easiest tidbit to come across.

Well yeah, he's not going to come right out and say "Hi my name's Simon and I abuse women because it makes me feel like a real man".

I wouldn't worry too much. She's already making a big fool of herself. My gut tells me current affairs programs like 60 mins will probably approach for an interview, but she'll want to be paid (of course) and they all know that doesn't go down well in the public's eye. I think she's already on track for a ruined career before it's even started. IMO.

I just don't know the wisdom of deliberately causing arguments to see how someone reacts.

Regardless of who that person was (ie SG) it's just a really manipulative and callous thing to do.

And if you're only judging someone through false arguments you've contrived, it's not a great judgement at all - hardly shows that she was a great careful parent, more of a manipulative drama queen.

Question is: Was she 'in love with SG?' or 'was she playing a role?'
Was she a victim in the making or is it a case of 'two of the same kind'?' Did she know of his criminal past? that he was charged with murder?
dealt drugs? etc Many questions at this time.

What gets me is that her mother's litmus test for whether or not he's a murderer, AFTER he's accused and therefore it is obviously in his -best interest- to keep his cool, is whether or not he attacks her (over whom he would not WANT control..) in some petty argument.

I support research into finding a cure for stupid. :banghead:

Something I REALLY struggle to understand in these cases is how the supporters of the murderers keep on preaching their innocence...
Honestly, in this case, the evidence is irrefutable! Can RL, her mum, his family explain how she went over the balcony without leaving any prints? Can they explain why a witness would fabricate such a story and risk making such dangerous enemies (bearing in mind that he no longer even lives in Australia! maybe he left for his safety?). I mean, none of it makes sense!!! Is it just a face for the public, behind closed doors do they really believe it? I guess SG's family haven't proclaimed his innocence, so maybe they believe his guilt? But RL and her mother, they're going out of their way, making themselves look incredibly foolish!

What goes on inside the heads of these people?

Thanks SouthAussie - I just read the Telegraph article re : the mother.
So, RL is part Sri Lankan, not Portuguese as has been often stated.

I really don't know what to say except "What's wrong with some people" ? Honestly. The way some people think is beyond words. I also noticed in the video of that article (on the court day), that a reporter said that the Gittany sister's are blaming the media for the judge-only decided trial. I think all the SG-campers are grasping at straws now. If just one representative from the family stood up and showed some compassion or a tiny bit of acceptance for this horrific crime, I would probably feel some compassion for them. But they haven't and so I don't. Some of my own friends think I am wrong for bringing the family into this, but when you read that SG's own mother attacked a policeman and a sister hurled abuse, you've got to form the impression of a bad bunch living under the same roof. Shame on them. He wanted a judge-only trial and he got it. It didn't work in his favour - bad luck. In hindsight, had SG had any compassion and a tidbit of honesty in his system, he may have been able to accept a manslaughter charge - but NO, he dug his Versace heels in and the result (so far) is the worst they could have imagined - bad luck. IMO.

Oh, and spare a thought for his hardworking Defence lawyer and legal team. Doesn't sound like the bill's going to get paid after all. IMO. :snooty:
